When and
and modules?
Introduce yourself:
Hi, Thank you for taking my interview. I am Sadia Rafique from Islamabad, I have done a bachelor’s in
computer science from COMSATS Wah Cantt. After my studies, I was working as a software analyst for
two years at QuipSol Technologies. I have got an offer letter from the University of Hertfordshire for my
Master’s studies and I’ll be joining Hertfordshire for this September intake.
As I said, I worked for two years in the industry after the completion of a bachelor’s degree to get
expertise in software development. Some of our projects involved dealing with cyber systems. There, I
came to know about the shortage and the importance of skilled cyber-security professionals. So I
searched for universities related to this field and applied. I plan to learn these advanced topics and get a
decent job in Pakistan after completing my studies in the UK.
Cyber-security professionals along with data scientists are very high demands for the last 4-5 years. In a
country like Pakistan where the IT field is not fully matured yet, there is a significant shortage of skilled
IT professionals, especially in cybersecurity. I had studied information security and computer networking
course during my bachelor’s and also had a chance to work on cyber-security during my job so I thought
of advancing my skills by doing an MSc in the relevant domain. The course and modules are designed
according to industry standards and I believe studying this course will enhance my skills set according to
industry requirements.
Why this university?
This university is situated in Edinburgh which is the second-best student city in the UK. It is ranked in the
top 250 young universities in the world by times higher education. It also offers flexibility in selecting
course modules according to our desired specialist area and offers placement in the second year of the
program. The course at this university is designed according to industry requirements so I’ll be happy to
take this course at this university.
I have a bachelor’s degree in computing science where I studied basic topics related to this field. This
MSc program offers those courses at an advanced level and also offers placement in the second year.
This course will help me in expanding the range of skills required for IT professionals and will increase
my worth.
Because the UK’s education system is among the top education systems in the world. The learning is not
limited to the classroom only and courses also offer real-life projects to work on. Secondly, Due to
English-speaking countries, it’s easy to interact with local people and learn about their culture. Also,
degrees from the UK are highly valued not only in Pakistan but all over the world. So I strongly believe
that I’ll get a very good job here in Pakistan after completing my MSc from the UK.
I also got offer letters from Bedfordshire and the University of Law but Hertfordshire has a good
reputation in computer sciences and it is also better in terms of ranking (601 rankings). Secondly,
Hertfordshire offers advanced research in the second year which no other institution offers.
What is your future plan?
After this degree, I plan to come back and work in the Pakistani digital business industry as a e
commerce professional. Because there is a huge shortage of skilled e-commerce professionals here and I
believe that I can get a very good job in Pakistan after my BSc from the UK.
How studying this course will help you in achieving your future goal?
This course will help me in getting in-depth knowledge and practical skills in digital business.I will have a
chance to work on a real-life research project. It will help me in developing a good range of skills to get a
good job in Pakistan.
I have studied in Pakistan for the last 14 years and did my ADP/BSc here I realized that soft skills are
equally important along with technical skills. So, I believe that I will develop good communication skills
in English, time management skills, and also learn about different cultures by studying in the UK. Having
a foreign degree will also strengthen my CV and increase my salary in Pakistan. How to write a CV? How
to Make a CV?
What is your expected salary upon your return to your home country?
I think the salary for cybersecurity professionals is around 70 to 80 thousand per month at the start,
which is enough to have a healthy lifestyle in Pakistan.
The total tuition fee for this course is almost 10000 pounds a year it is 32 months course and I have to
pay total of 29000 and something for 3 years course and I have already paid 5,000 pounds and got CAS.
My father-in-law is a businessman and his primary source of income is real estate and he has invested
his money in forex trading and he is also running his own cargo office.
Including me, there are six people in total. But he already gave us money for our study and expenses and
he has enough amount to support the rest of the family members.
My transferred the required money to my account. I also attached an affidavit from him that he gave us
money to live and study in the UK.
