Abstract
What we already know in this modern era is that students prefer instantaneous things, so many
students are not interested in exploring the understanding of religion because nowadays it is
difficult to understand religion in the era of generation z. Whereas today students should have a
basic basis of religious science so that they do not easily deviate from heretical teachings, because
today there are so many teachings that are not the teachings of the correct religion. Therefore, we
must learn the science of religion from an early age. Often we encounter and find that there are
still many people doing things that should not be done and such as saying rudely not knowing
about good moral norms this happens because of the lack of good knowledge in carrying out life
correctly and well taught by the apostle saw. Therefore, Islamic religious education is important
which aims to develop students in the era of generation z who can know to understand the passion
of faith in piety and have ethics derived from the Qur'an and al-hadith.

human beings to always strive to perfect faith, piety, and morals, as well as to form a special
civilization to advance the civilization of a dignified country. Generation Z is a generation that
lives in the age of technical communication, a lifestyle based on technology in using productive
social media. This generation replaces the previous generation of millennials and alpha
generations. Members of this generation can be dubbed digital natives.
In the age of generation z as it is today, people's views of user behavior or adab began to decline
from time to time. From our ancestors in ancient times specifically his prophet Adam A.S until
now his manners have begun to decline. In today's life, with the development of Islam, many things
have developed with the existence of revolutions. But due to the lack of religious knowledge and
understanding of each person's religion, many people do not understand how to do something or
act by the prevailing norms, so it often also causes negative consequences. This generation is a
generation that does not know good norms in communicating due to ethical criticality due to the
lack of knowing good adab science.
So it is necessary to study religious education which plays a big role in the current generation. This
study aims to develop good attitudes and ethics in carrying out life and form a character in the
generation of the milineal era. the research procedure is initiated to improve one's adab so that in
the future a good culture continues to run.

4-8 students of SMP Muhammadiyah Pekajangan class of 2021 who lacked understanding of

the class of 2021, so it will be easy if the sample is me as an alumnus of the junior high school.

the form of graphs, charts, brief descriptions and charts. Some forms of presenting this data will
later be included in the final research report.
c. Conclusion drawing
At this stage, the researcher will draw conclusions based on the formulation of questions and the
research that has been carried out.
d. Data verification
Verify the data by double-checking the completeness of the data. If there is anything irrelevant,
then a re-research will be held.
C. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Result
From the results of research by researchers from the study, it succeeded in uncovering several
existing problems.
1. Many people do not know good norms and ethics because they do not know the science
of adab.
2. Many people are less concerned with learning the basics of religious science and end up
being easily instigated and deviated.
Of these two problems, it is very worrying for students to disturb the mindset because they do not
know the knowledge of adab and finally do not know which ones are good and bad. And it is very
dangerous for generation Z if there is a lack of basic education in religious science because there
is a lot of distorted learning in this modern era. Therefore, research is needed with the title "Lack
of Understanding of Islam for Students in the Generation Z Era".
Discussion
Judging from the research that the next generation of this nation must have religious education
knowledge to know what is good and bad. Because many today the successors of the nation are
easily instigated and eventually deviate such as corruption and other things just for the sake of
thinking about the favors of the world alone and not thinking about the afterlife. This is because
of the lack of religious knowledge and eventually, his faith and piety falter, and do bad things.
Therefore, students are very important to know the knowledge of the religion so that it has a
foundation and does not waver easily, and is worthy of being the successor of the nation. Therefore,
the cultivation of religious knowledge from an early age in children is very influential in shaping
the child's knowledge to know what things should be done to them.
Conclusion
Islamic religious education is a conscious and planned effort to prepare students to know,
understand, have faith in taqwa, be ethical, and practice Islamic teachings derived from the Qur'an
and al-hadith. This Islamic religious science policy is very important and very important for the
successors of the nation so that the next generation of this nation so that students have a strong
faith and devotion so that they do not easily deviate from bad things. Because we live in generation
Z, we must be able to master the basics of religious science to know what should be done. So that
this nation can develop and be easily lied to and can correct or change bad habits into good and
positive habits that can be more beneficial for developing this country.
