Plot
It's a beautiful Saturday morning, and it is Barney's birthday! While the
VIDEO
kids want to plan something special for him, their classmate Hayley
has already thought of the perfect celebration for their purple friend.

WIKIS Then, Barney comes to life, and starts greeting the viewer watching.
He then starts to sing the song Good Morning, and is then greeted by
his friends. Then, while Barney and the kids are playing together, he
START A gets a birthday letter from his good friend, Alan Hassenfield to come to
WIKI
his big Toy Fair in California. And of course for Barney to bring his
friends (and the viewer) with him. So Barney and the kids go to the Toy
Fair with the power of imagination, by walking through the other side of
the tree in the playground. As soon as they arrive, Barney introduces
the rest of the kids to Hayley's uncle, Alan. Barney and four of the kids
go sightseeing around the city with The Barney Mobile, while the other
kids ride with Alan in his van. Then, the purple dino is in for a BIG
surprise! A surprise birthday party, with all of his friends. Old and new.
The first of many surprise party guests are The Backyard Gang.
Michael, Amy, Tina, Luci, Derek, and Adam. Followed by other old
friends such as Kathy, Shawn, Min, Tosha, Julie, David, Jason, Kelly,
Carlos, Juan, Jesse, and Kenneth. Next, Baby Bop and BJ even drop by
to support their purple friend on his birthday. Then, the fun begins, as
all of the party guests are present. Barney and the gang spend the
entire day with all their favorite songs and games, and even play with
musical instruments that they created with help from The Barney Bag.
Then, they are later visited by more party guests. Mr. Tenagain, The
Winkster, Professor Tinkerputt, Mr. Boyd, Miss Kepler, Stella the
Storyteller, Scooter McNutty, Miss Etta Kette, and Booker T. Bookworm,
along with a brief visit from Mother Goose and Old King Cole. The fun
continues when Barney and the gang use their imaginations and put
on a pretend circus, play a pretend castle game, pretend to be jungle
explorers, and have fun with shapes and colors. Then, Barney shows all
his friends all the traveling he's been doing, through The Adventure
Screen. Then, all of Barney's friends take turns reminiscing on all the
times Barney has been a good friend to them, and all the times he has
encouraged them throughout the years (with photos and flashbacks
included). After that, Barney sings the songs Someone to Love You
Forever, and You Can Count on Me to let his friends know how special

birthday cake! Made by Professor Tinkeputt, Mr. Tenagain, The Winkster,
Mr. Boyd, Miss Kepler, and Stella. Everyone gathers round and sings

FANDOM
Happy Birthday to Barney. Barney then blows out the candles, and
then they all enjoy the cake. Followed by Barney and the gang singing
the song Everyone is Special. After that, the gang takes a group photo,
and then Barney thanks all of his friends for attending his birthday
party, and thanks Alan Hassenfield for planning the event. Then,
HOME confetti falls from the ceiling, and Barney and the gang continue to
celebrate. Then, everyone comes back to the playground, and Barney
gets some thank you cards and other souvenirs out of his closet, and
GAMES gives them to each of his friends. Then, Barney wraps up the day by
singing his favorite signature ending song, I Love You. After that,
Booker T. Bookworm goes back to the library, Scooter, Miss Etta, Stella,
ANIME Mr. Tenagain, The Winkster, Professor Tinkerputt, Mr. Boyd, and Miss
Kepler leave. Then, Baby Bop and BJ leave, and then Barney thanks all
of his other friends, old and new, for coming to his birthday party. After
MOVIES that, they all hug and kiss Barney goodbye. And lastly, Barney says
goodbye to the viewers and thanks them for coming to his Hollywood
birthday surprise. Then after he says goodbye and chuckles away, he

The Game Machine from Barney's Fun & Games, and the Vend-O-
Ball Machine from Play Ball! both return in this special.
Barney's photo album from Barney's Musical Scrapbook, along
with his birthday crown from Happy Birthday, Barney! return in
this special. His whistle from Barney's Campfire Sing-Along
(which was also seen in Be a Friend) also returns, during the
camping segments.
Baby Bop honks her tricycle horn to let the audience know of her
arrival.

During The Adventure Screen segment, when Barney shows his
friends all the traveling he's done and some of the new friends
he's made around the world, archival footage is shown of him
visiting London, Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, Germany, and

Dr. TickTock, Meebeedeep, Farmer Dooley, Cody, Abby, Marcella,
Kevin, Cindy, Tony, Rachel, Grandma Greenfield, Grandpa

special (while also showing flashbacks of them).
Before Barney's birthday cake arrives, everyone makes a lot of
past references to all the times Barney has been a good friend to

Michael makes some references to the time he and Amy
first met Barney (while showing the same flashback that

was shown in Barney & The Backyard Show, the time
Barney took him and the rest of The Backyard Gang to the
beach in A Day at the Beach with Barney, and the time
Barney encouraged him to get better at playing the cello.
Amy makes a reference to the time Barney helped her,
HOME Michael, and the rest of The Backyard Gang think of ideas
for The Backyard Show that they put on for her and
Michael's dad. And the time Barney pretended to be their
