1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the organization

Debub Global Bank S.C. is one of the private banks established in August, 2012 with
subscribed capital of Birr 266.9 Million and with a paid up capital of Birr 138.9
million. The company has a legal entity registered with the licensing and supervisory
body of the National Bank of Ethiopia in accordance with proclamation No-592/2000.
Over the past few years, the bank has grown fromBirr138.9million to Birr 700 million
of paid up cap-ital and Birr 1 Billion of subscribed capital, from 15to 50 branches
both in the capital and regional cities and has more than 150,000 customers across the
country. The total asset of the company has reached Birr 4 billion. This tremendous
growth was largely driven by active participation of its valuable customers,
employees, shareholders and other relevant stakeholders.The bank provides a wide
range of both domestic and international banking services with superior customer
service standards.

1.2 Ownership nature and type of organization

1.2.1 Ownership of the organization

Debub Global Bank the private commercial bank that has been named Debub Global
Bank for 9 years has decided to change its name to Global Bank Ethiopia. The
General Assembly meeting held on December 19, 2022, has confirmed that the
formerly known Bank has officially changed its name to Global Bank Ethiopia.

Debut Global Bank S.C. is a privately owned share company which has started
operation on August 28, 2012. The bank is established to provide a wide range of
banking services to both domestic and international businesses with quality customer
services, higher value creation for stakeholders and to be a responsive corporate social
citizen by effectively blending commercial pursuit with social responsibilities.

1.2.2 Nature of organization

Debub Global Bank grants loans and advances to various sectors of the economy on
the strength of feasibility of the proposed projects. Hence, all types of loans spread
among the categories of loans recognized by the bank. Major services rendered under

3. ACTIVIES UNDERTAKE DURING FIELD ATTACHEMENT

This program creates the real exposure to the reality on the company to integrate
theoretical knowledge with practical .By this chance I try to find a company going to
accept my internship request. During this time first I get Abyssinia Bank. But they did
not accept my internship request and I would got to ethio telecom . Then I try to find
other companies which to accept my internship paper.
Finally, I get DGB manager to give the internship request. He accepted my request
and I get positive response and acceptance letter.

Problems encountered on job

 For the first a few days it is difficult to perform any activities because I was
new for the entire job in the bank and also there is some frustration.
 It is not easy to communicate with the employee because it is new for the
office

4.4Team Playing Skill


During my stay in DGB Samara branch, I have learned that, difficult to go ahead and
do something without having a strong team. Team work important because it can
speed up procedure and give good service more efficiently and allows goals to be
reached in an efficient and timely way.

4.5. Leadership Skills

During the 15 days DGB Samara branch, I have been able to upgrade my leadership
skills to a whole new level. To achieve leader ship skills, it requires high level
commitment to learn from each experience I face. I have observed that a good leader
is well principal individual who focuses on a common goal and eliminate excess fear
and doubt from his employees and work for a common good of all.

4.6. Work Ethics

I understood the effects of ethical problem related to work like impolite behavior, lack
of punctuality, disregard of rules and procedures and disrespect for the job. I see how
to decline the ethical problems on the productivity of the company. From this I can
conclude that if one has good work ethics he will benefited and encourage others to
do the same and at last benefit the bank.

Application of energy and passion towards the creation and implementation of new
ideas and creative solutions. Essential in gradients includes the willingness to take

This internship program bridges the gap between the student’s theoretical knowledge
and practical skills. Various types of orientation programs, tasks, and training that we
have been under taking during those past 15daye in the office boosted my knowledge.
Internship program provide us many knowledge and experiences in many ways like: -

I recommended the branch to improve with the following points,
 All staffs focused on the day to day activities for all DGB products like cross
selling, up selling, money tracking, customer base, digital banking and
customer service experience.
 As much as possible by communicating district HR the branch should be
increased additional human resource.
 The most thing in my hosting company is it have manual that describe many
strategies, plans and structures and also functions of different employees but
dose not allowed to see due to security matter.
 It should be adjusted the human resource.
