SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN STATISTICS AND PROBABILITY
Prepared by: Mario Jr. O. Villarta
I. Objectives
Within the 60 – minute lesson, the Grade 11 students are expected to learn with at least
75% level of accuracy to;
a. Find the possible values of a random variable;
b. Illustrate the possible outcomes of a random variable;
c. Relate the possible outcomes of random variable in real-life situation.
II. Subject Matter
Topic: Finding the Possible Values of a Random Variable. (M11/12SP-III-3)
Reference: Work Book in Statistics and Probability for the 3rd Quarter
Pede I. Casing, PHD
Materials: manila paper, pilot pen, coin, chalk
III. Procedure
A. Review
Ask the class about the previous topic.
What they learned about the previous topic.
Ask the students if they really understand the past lesson.
B. Motivation
The teacher will let the students flip a coin ten times and record its results.
C. Activities
The teacher will gave a short activity about the possible outcomes and values in
tossing three coins.
D. Abstraction
Proceed to the next lesson which is finding the possible values of a random
variable.
Discuss and give examples about finding possible outcomes and values of a
random variable.
E. Application
The teacher will give a differentiated group activity to the students.
Ask the learners about the steps in finding the possible outcomes of a random
variable.
IV. Assessment
The students will answer an individual activity.
V. Assignment
Research on how to construct a probability distribution and its properties.
