Introduction:
Health information system is that supports all hospital functions & activities
such as patient records,scheduling administration ,charge back & billing.
A Hospital Information System (HIS) is a comprehensive, integrated
information system designed to manage all aspects of a hospital's operations,
including administrative, financial, and clinical functions. It is a digital system
that helps hospitals to manage patient data, medical records, billing, and other
administrative tasks.
HIS provides a centralized platform for managing the entire hospital's
workflow, from admissions to discharge, and helps healthcare providers to
streamline their operations and improve patient care. The system typically
includes various modules, such as:
1. Registration and admissions: This module manages patient registration,
appointment scheduling, and admission process.
2. Electronic Medical Records (EMR): This module manages patient
medical records, including lab results, radiology reports, and other
clinical data.
3. Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS): This module provides
doctors and other healthcare providers with real-time access to patient
data, helping them to make informed decisions about patient care.
