BARISTA OPENING CHECKLIST
o Turn on all the necessary equipment & warm up the espresso machine
o Fill ESPRESSO Machine with Water
o Brew your coffee and check your additives, checking throughout the day.
o Prep your daily whipped cream.
o Prep for your specialty drinks.
o Check that all your syrups, sauces, flavors are full and not-expired.
o Markdown wasted product.
o Take out the trash.
o Stock your necessary products.
o Prep all your other popular drinks, like gathering your supplies for iced and blended beverages.
Check your ice bin to make sure it is full.
o Check expiration dates on items, including your flavored syrups.
o Prep any food items, if applicable.
o Arrange tables and chairs in your sitting area.
Tasks for Throughout the Day
o Clean the Syrup bottles and pumps so there isn't any sugar residue.
o Clean-as-you-go throughout the day, so it's an easier job at closing.
BARISTA CLOSING CHECKLIST
o Check for items expiring soon.
o Clean all the coffee pots and equipment. Clean the coffee brewer & the coffee airpots
o Clean the espresso machine
o Clean all your dishes. Clean all the dishes: mugs, shot glasses, spoons, thermometers, trays, scoops, etc.
o Clean all the counters - moving displays & fixtures when possible.
o Wipe out the fridges & make sure there are no spills.
o Count down the cash drawer and put together the deposit as needed.
o Leave any communication for the morning crew where they will quickly find it.
o Stock any products that are low: syrups, grab'n'go items, ready-to-
drink beverages, milk, etc.
o Turn off any equipment that needs it and turn off the lights before leaving.
o Clean the counters and wipe out your fridge.
o Clean tables and put up chairs.
o Take out the trash.
o Sweep and mop the entire area.
o Record wasted product.
o Count your cash in the drawer and prepare a deposit if necessary.
o Stock your needed products.
o Turn off all equipment at the end of the day.
