Unpacking

The document discusses unpacking and combining MELCs (Most Essential Learning Competencies). It is important to unpack MELCs to help systematize learning activities and address varying learner needs and challenges in instructional delivery. When unpacking, considerations include alignment with content and performance standards, prerequisite knowledge and skills, and logical sequencing of learning objectives. Not all MELCs need to be unpacked, as the teacher may combine them depending on lesson sequence, learner progress and needs, as long as standards are achieved. Sample unpacking breaks down a MELC into specific learning objectives, while sample combining groups related MELCs into a single topic.

objective is not logical sequence. Planning what are the most important objective is key frame in
achieving better understanding of our learners.
3. Do all the MELCs need to be unpacked or combined? Why or why not?
The teacher may unpack and combined the MELCS depends on sequence of the lesson, the
