All right we're on right now yeah
always this that was easy yeah
remember yeah remember how I
told you how we do it you had like
16 people so no no no no I got a
whole [ __ ] like football team I'm
just trying to fit in what the
community dude dude you're in it
I'm late I'm late in the podcast
game we're late not really trying to
like jump in I don't know if it's
ever really late you know don't
they nah because I think if you I
think there's a lot of people who do
it just because they're like oh I just
want to do it because everyone's
doing it yeah um but I think if you
add real value then it's not you can
never be too late you know I'm
almost 40 dude yeah so I feel like
podcasting is my next move that's
what I'm saying like what am I
gonna do yeah yeah I mean the
reality is like yeah it's like at this
point this sort of content is just it's
teaching it's giving back it's true
unless like you make a podcast it's
about just like sex and random
yeah that's not really mine no it's
not not my Avenue it's not but
those do well it could be
educational it could be education
educational yeah it could should
we spoon on this we could spoon
here and just rough this out yeah so
um so what's up man yeah dude
I'm I'm stoked to talk to you you
guys have like you've been on in
the game for forever um dude it's
been a while yeah when you really
look at it we we constantly like
because how many years for you
on YouTube we started what do we
start posting in 09 2009 holy [ __ ]
yeah it was our nine that's when I
made the channel probably when
you made it so wait how many
years then my math is terrible like
14 years dude 14 years I would say
safely and uh like we always talk
about how it doesn't even feel like
this lifetime yeah that we were
back doing all that yeah doing
pranks but but yeah like that was a
different world and then daily
vlogging doesn't seem possible
now for you or just in general just
in general how did we do that yeah
I'm always like how did I do that
yeah that wasn't one of the things
that I always found so crazy like
when I was coming up it was like
the most popular YouTubes at the
time would have been like like
Fouseytube um you were there and
then like Logan became really
popular and I was always like how
the [ __ ] are these guys creating
like this like pretty much nothing
out of thin air every single day to
have this like this daily Vlog was
different I literally have no clue
how I did it yeah I don't I I we
think about all the time like she
would we would film like every
morning you wake up on your
daily vlogger you're at zero right
by the time you go to bed you have
to be at 100 meaning you filmed all
day and you've edited I'd edited all
my own Vlogs for the majority of
the time yeah and uh it was like
two different lives it was like all
right the vlog's done now she's
getting the kids to bed they're
going to bed and I'm up till 3am
editing then as soon as we wake up
we're back at zero did you guys
ever fight you're like [ __ ] man
never just never fly we would
definitely fight I was like yo there's
no way do you remember a fight I
don't remember a fight I mean I'm
not talking about boxing each other
oh I'm packing my bags like
leaving but like well you're like yo
this is like fight yeah it was like
three years of going to bed without
each other yeah yeah serious
sacrifice because you were doing
editing shoes taking care of the
kids yeah yeah it was just
teamwork it was like all right
bedtime now I'm gonna bang this
out and uh yeah we did that what
do you think the hardest part of all
that was well I'm lucky I did it
when I was that age because right
now I'll tell you I'm I'm just
exhausted I'm more exhausted now
like when when everyone's going
to bed now I'm like yeah I think
I'm gonna go to bed but back then I
was like time to edit bam just go
do you think you could do it if you
had someone editing your stuff like
if you had someone every day like
you showed up you were just
filming your life yeah yeah yeah if
somebody was doing it all I don't
know you tried to do 30 days in
December I was doing it all yeah
yeah no I'm not talking about but I
made it 14 days I was like yeah
why would you why would you try
to take up the editing why did you
I don't like it you know I started I
started filming so that I had
something to edit like when when
you were like 12 yeah right I loved
editing so much that I bought I
saved up 300 bucks bought my
first Handycam just so that I would
have content to edit that's that's
[ __ ] so I actually started as an
editor I really liked editing I liked I
liked taking something and and
making something out of it you
know you know what I'm really
curious about and I I really think
about the earlier creators who did
all this and who like amassed like
crazy numbers and you know
millions and millions of followers
like yourself the time that you did
it it wasn't as like popular to do it
you know what I'm saying like you
started on the platform at a time
when like it wasn't like everyone
was doing it every single person in
every industry has they're making a
YouTube and social media is
everything because it's everything
now and everyone does and
everyone like needs to have it what
made you believe back then that
like you could do it you wanted to
do it like how did you find your
way to it well I will say it was
easier to stand out at that time yeah
you know the things I did stood out
on YouTube like you said not a lot
of people were doing it even
though I was actually late in the
vlogging world yeah uh you had
the Jesse Wellens and the shake
Carls and the uh the Charles
Trippy like you had all these like
Staples and vlogging and they were
like daily vloggers but I think my
like you know it goes all the way
back to like sketch comedy then I
went to pranking pranking blew up
and it was it was like rated R I was
doing everything rated R um you
know our kid we have kids yeah
and I slowly was like I couldn't be
in La I didn't like being in LA and
that's why we started shooting a lot
of pranks in L.A because we like
ran out of our city like the whole
city knew us the police knew us
there was there was like wanted
posters in the police station for us
what did you guys like about la I
don't know like every time I was
here I was just so excited to get
home like I felt like that was where
I was more happy I was just
naturally happier at home so I
remember talking to like Vitaly
and Dennis and all these prankster
buddies I was like guys I'm gonna
start vlogging now I'm gonna start
vlogging but I'm gonna leave my
huge prank career like I was had
the biggest prank Channel out there
yeah I'm gonna stop doing it in our
Prime and I'm gonna go to Vlogs
and I'm gonna go PG which was
like everybody was like that's the
dumbest thing I have ever heard
why'd you decide to go that route
well I knew and I I lucked out man
I was like a year before pranks just
what year was this died I don't
know I don't know dude um I just
remember like Vitaly like bro yeah
13 14. pranks are getting saturated
they're gonna start dying there's too
many of them and they're going too
chaotic now they're they're not
even funny anymore they're just
people are going to the extremes
right yeah and we're probably
guilty for creating that right but I
was like I'm gonna start vlogging
I'm gonna Vlog my life and I just
want to be me and I want to hang
out with my kids and my wife we
were traveling non-stop it's like I
was never home I was I was doing
three flights a week to La just so
that I could get back home every
day [ __ ] bro yeah like Ohio is
crazy to Ohio yeah so lots of
travels like you know what I just
wanna everybody's here in La
doing this how can I be different
nobody was making like clean
family content like Tim Allen type
stuff right it's like the Home
Improvement the guy that's just at
home with his kids doing edgy dad
stuff I was like I'm gonna try this
and I really enjoyed it well but why
did you know that the whole [ __ ]
did you know it was gonna
collapse like yeah I don't know I
called it I just saw it coming I just
I'd already been in it long enough
to see like this super anytime like
there's a super rise it starts to be
saturated and all of a sudden you're
not standing out you're not doing
enough you're not what what do
you think what do you think the uh
that nelk had done differently
because they sustained for you
know more recently in the last few
years well I've seen a trend of
pranks coming back I think we've
gotten out of that like pranking will
be around for the center of time
yeah everybody loves pranks of
course but there was a moment for
a couple years where like it was so
frowned upon dude like pranking
was just got so gross it was like it
was either it was either they were
just straight up fake or was like
they're so extreme that they're not
funny um I I don't know I was just
like I gotta get out of this I wanna
start vlogging bro that's that's
literally what I did and everybody
like I I met with my managers I'm
like this is what I'm doing
everybody's freaking out because
like I was I was a money maker for
a lot of these of course right now
like you're just gonna stop doing
this to make family content bro
like but you hit that wave though
because then you you hit the wave
of like then it start the the platform
YouTube starts to really [ __ ] with
family content yeah so luckily I
was I was again I was in the family
content at the right time yeah um
and and then the Vlogs it only took
it didn't take long the Vlogs
surpassed my prank Channel which
was huge has like a billion views
or something which is aren't insane
to me that we would ever have that
type of viewership but the Vlog
Channel had like six billion views
so we immediately just raced past
the prank Channel it was like
insane because you think it was
because the content because the
platform was like wanting that kind
of content there was nobody doing
what I did there was no edgy dad
wrecking cars and blowing up stuff
and shooting guns and still being
this loving father to kids and a wife
yeah it was like when they watched
the content they were drawn in by
the craziness but then they fell in
love with the family yeah and then
it became a reality show and they
knew they could get it every day
tomorrow there's a video
Tomorrow there's a video and so
how long did you sustain that for
you said three years like straight
how long did you do that for my
my biggest run without missing a
single day was 550 days I believe
but that was just I missed the day
oh my God and I was so hungover
which is one of the reasons I quit
drinking we're both four years
sober nice because I missed the
day I was so hungover I couldn't
physically get out of bed and I I I
was so defeated in myself I was so
disappointed in myself that I let
alcohol ruin my streak yeah I was
so bummed at myself um but I
missed the day but daily vlogging I
think we did six years like almost
every single day bro it's just insane
it's just a crazy it's gross it's a crazy
thing yeah like it's like you have
like it's like funny because your
whole brand is like it's so like good
and and love and it's like you're
also a psychopath though yeah it's
it's uh you had to be a little crazy
to do that I think that like we were
so in the moment like I don't ever
remember any stress at that time
what's your take on that you had no
stress I mean I think we were
definitely stressed it just feels like
it was didn't even happen I feel like
it took so much of our time and
energy it was like it's just a blur
now yeah it's a wild concept and
we when we were able to like we
were creating this mad snowball of
success yeah and you you cannot
stop when you have that kind of
momentum success moving like
you cannot stop so we just we're
building the snowball between the
the daily Vlogs which were
creating so many millions of views
a month it was like you cannot stop
and then on top of that our
merchandise company which was
connected to our house and they
were both just snowballing I
remember that like out of control
we were hiring everybody we
could find our our family members
and we were night shifting and we
were we were just in this like crazy
moment that now feels just like
what happened yeah like what
what do you what do you think all
this has taught you the most like
what do you learned the most
throughout this personal life and
then also business I will say that
I've always like it's a teeter-totter
right because I'm I'm a father and
I've been a father before I even had
YouTube right so I've always been
trying to find this balance between
work and family and I think I
always tried my best to stay true
with that and not letting work pull
me too much this way not letting
family pull me too much away
from work it was like this this
sinner and I've always been just
weirdly proud of myself for
keeping my family all together and
keeping everybody happy and and
now that we're not in this Rat Race
and we're kind of just having fun
and dabbling and doing the podcast
and I'm very like we're comfortable
and I didn't ruin what I could have
easily ruined you know I could
have stayed in L.A and partying
and just said screw this I'm making
so much money I don't need my
family I always was like just
anchored my family was my
anchor like our anchor and she was
just like always been on board with
anything I want to do so it's like I'll
take the kids you go knock this out
and it was like that was our system
yeah and it was awesome my
biggest takeaway personal every
part of what I've done has always
been what I want to do the whole
time throughout you never did
anything you didn't want to do I
tried not to so that that goes for
like when I didn't want to do
pranks anymore I moved to
vlogging um I didn't want to do
sketches anymore I moved to
pranks it was like I was always
moving to what I really was like
more happy doing because like
you're like YouTube if you don't
like it is miserable yeah like it's
miserable like it will it will eat you
up so fast just choose you up spit
you out and then the next guy's
flourishing yeah of course yeah so
you gotta love what you do you
gotta love what you're doing you
and you like it's the whole like
strike when the Iron's hot right it's
like we were in it and you can't
stop you know we didn't stop till it
started slowing down and yeah you
know I mean we did stop but we
had to stop for like real reasons but
yeah now we're back we're
dabbling it's fun yeah the podcast
is so fun yeah this is my easily my
favorite type of content yeah this is
like what about business I want to
answer the rest of that question in
business because you've been
doing this at a very high level for a
very long time obviously things
slow down things speed up
business-wise what have you
learned because obviously you did
your own merch stuff you've done
it all yeah I think um it like even
the silly even the silly Parts like I
know YouTubers that were like I'm
not even paying attention to taxes
like these guys oh man because
YouTube you're like you just get
all this money yeah right like I
know guys that just did not pay
taxes and then YouTube slows
down yeah you are screwed dude
yeah all that hard work is gone so
pay attention pay your freaking
taxes I mean that's this is
something that is just so people
listening to this though I don't even
really understand when you start
making a good amount of money
like if you ever do it they're taking
a lot of your money oh my God
like nearly nearly half of it is their
goal so depending where you live
obviously to this date yeah the
most and and we've we have some
nice things we have a beautiful
home lots of property the biggest
check I've ever written is to the
government for Texas to this day
I've still not bought anything
personally yeah bigger than my
taxes and they just go thank you
see you next year and and like you
know what they'll do [ __ ] for you
you know it's weird too when you
hit a certain category everyone's
like oh boohoo yeah yeah of course
it's all equivalent yeah it is all
equivalent right it's funny that
people saying boohoo is like you're
getting robbed just the same it's
just a different [ __ ] ratio all
getting robbed holy smokes but uh
yeah yeah pay your taxes yeah I
think right I think it just hurts when
I I look at it from this perspective
you know obviously people say the
boohoo but it hurts because like no
one gave me this no one gave me
that criteria the idea no one showed
me how to move like I had to
create it all for in order for the
money to come in yup like you
know versus if we talk about the
the normal job it's like you get a
job you work a job they take their
taxes and then that's kind of it
you're not like you're not like
having to create your income like
dynamically As you move through
your life you know what I'm saying
yeah that's why I felt so bad I was
like yo this hurts I remember like I
wrote that first 400 000 check I
was like what for what and it's
funny because I remember thinking
like it's not there's not real
everyone will complain about taxes
and I was like it's not like why why
it's not that big of a deal and then I
wrote that first check because I had
to because I had missed it and then
I had to pay a little bit of fees on
top of it and I was like for what for
[ __ ] what it's so brutal and it's and
and everybody on the other
Spectrum gets money back at tax
time so you have you have a a lot
of people that I can't wait for tax
season I get all my checks and
we're sitting here like then we
worked really hard and we got to
pay a ton of money yeah it burns
yeah I don't have I don't care how
much money you make it burns
you just never like you know what
I'm so excited to pay these taxes
right I just wish there was some
sort of like like could I decide
somewhat like let me get like a
vague decision about where the
money goes like let me can it go to
like roads or some [ __ ] actually
go to something good let's go into
your Ukraine bro sick um [ __ ] we
come from like like no joke we
Brittany and I like when we started
YouTube no joke I remember like
we would like have all our change
and I remember one time like we
had like 40 bucks and we were
deciding to go get gas for the car or
to order pizza and that's how like
that's like literally the level we
come from starting YouTube so to
write a check for for taxes of that
value is just like mind-blowing to
me like I never even thought I'd
have that money in my life that I
paid in taxes what's the most
you've ever paid taxes one check
millions millions that hurts
millions and it burnt so bad bro
that was that was miserable it's it's
wild it's honestly one of the
craziest things I think but can't get
too wrapped up in that kind of
[ __ ] because it's like you just
gotta keep going I mean more
listen if you're paying then you're
met you're making the Right
Moves you're making money yeah
uh that's just the hard part you do
get better at write-offs you do
understand like I had to get better
at understanding business I had to
find an accountant that would you
know say hey you need to spend
this amount of money by next
week all right what can I buy what
can I buy we'll buy this for the
Vlog we'll buy this for business
we'll buy and you go out and you
just spend all that money or you
give it to the government yeah so
it's like there's a lot of things you
can do to to better your business
tax wise like please don't save all
that money you have to spend that
money or you're going to give it to
the government you need
employees you need all that kind
of [ __ ] you you literally have to
find excuses to spend money yeah
otherwise yeah it's literally just it's
a hard concept to understand but
without them write-offs you're just
being taxed on all of it yeah so so
back to the personal stuff like
throughout your whole your guys's
whole experience like you guys
never had any moments where it
was you were just like [ __ ] this I
don't want to do this anymore
thank you I I had two I had two
full-blown like I'm done with
YouTube before I ever made it this
was before I ever had anything not
while you were making it it was it
was uh you know I did I did two
years of like living YouTube
before I had anything like like 50
views on videos for two years yeah
yeah yeah so it was a grind dude
and uh my first YouTube payout
was like 58 cents I got turned down
for the YouTube partnership
remember back then you had to
apply for that you had to apply for
a partnership I got denied and I
think when you were denied back
then you had to wait six months to
reapply holy [ __ ] so it's like I
gotta grind for six more months um
I find I finally got in I don't
remember the how it went but yeah
our first check was like 58 cents uh
I didn't think it was a check it was
just like on my what were you
doing before I worked in a rope
Factory Rope Rope my mother and
father own a rope business multiple
rope businesses and uh dude I was
just like the little Hellion in school
that hated school I was like I'm
never gonna use any of the school
crap like yeah get me food related
and my teachers are like fully my
teachers like I my head is down
like I'm not going to pay attention
yeah and I just literally every time
I'm just gonna make videos my
teachers are like by the way I
graduated in 2001. YouTube didn't
even come out until 2006. yeah so
for me to say in 2000 that I'm just
gonna make videos for a living that
was unheard of like my teacher
what are you gonna do how are
you gonna provide how did you
think that how did you have that
that site because I didn't care that
I'd ever make money I only cared
that I wanted to make videos why
did you want to make videos so
bad I was like an edit I was
addicted bro you really liked
editing I loved filming everything I
would go film my buddy's BMX
riding I would go film everything
and I'd take it back to my computer
and you had to use like the audio
video cables and you had to ingest
it into the editor and however long
that tape was is how long it would
take to get into the computer holy
[ __ ] and like I was so addicted to
it so all I cared about was making
videos way before you can make
money on the internet way before
like I was just obsessed like I'm
gonna make videos so when I
graduated and I had literally no
education I wasn't going to college
my teachers were like all right
Roman go make your videos and I
was like holy crap like what am I
gonna do dude I was freaking out
so I joined my mother and father's
Factory yeah and um I joined two
days after I graduated and I worked
full-time minimum 40 hours a
week until I was 20 seven and then
and then you said [ __ ] this I'm
going to do this so for nine years I
worked in the factory your parents
had to kick you out they're like
you're coming through this for the
first three years I did YouTube we
had no internet in our house no
internet so I would go to the Rope
Factory to upload while I was at
work for three years I would
upload a throw no internet at my
house couldn't get it why not just
didn't exist it didn't exist we lived
in the country there's no internet
damn that kind of sounds peaceful
man I think about that now I'm like
let's go look so three years no
internet we're gonna Factory we
um we finally started to like I
started getting out of sketch
comedy it's just like I suck at it my
videos are terrible like they're not
good nobody's watching them you
said they were kind of
controversial yeah they're edgy
they're just like they're like you
know Dave Chappelle and like
yeah just like the wild west
YouTube it's just like whatever
goes you know it's just like crazy
comedy and I was like these suck
um but I grew up with my father
who was like taught me how to
prank like he was a prankster when
we were kids he would like on the
weekend this was our activity he
would take like a purse and put it
on a string and take it out to the
end of the street and then when
cars stop and they go to grab that
person he would yank it on a
fishing pole just because just
entertain us kids what the [ __ ] it's
always like I gotta this is it so I
was like I'm gonna go tie a string
on a purse no joke so we go out we
tie a string on a purse and um I
come home I upload it on my
sketch video channel and um it
goes crazy crazy bro this is like
three years of hard grinding
YouTube working in a factory I've
got two days off a week to make a
video and get it uploaded Right
video gets 600 000 views in five
days which to me was unheard of
oh yeah that's insane like even
back then a million views on a
video was very rare yeah like that
was like my absolute pinnacle and
it's going crazy five days tosh.o's
calling me ridiculousness was was
hitting us up world star and all
these I'm like holy crap like what is
happening they're trying to use the
content they all want the clip yeah
so I'm like yes yes play it play it
play it and then the next day I
wake up and the videos gone off
YouTube so one of the reactions in
the video which made it viral they
complained they filed like a we
didn't have they didn't get
permission to use us oh man and
they joint it that sucks so my first
break in three years I'm finally
doing it and then it's gone off
YouTube bro I was heartbroken
and then Tosh point out they all
called me and said well if it's off
YouTube we probably shouldn't air
it and I'm like oh my God so I lost
all of it damn like all of it that's
crushing um it was so discouraging
man and I think those are the
moments where you have to like I
know it's easy to say now because I
did overcome it but man I'll be
honest at that time it was just like
this is never gonna work like this is
never and why'd you decide to
keep going because I just loved it I
loved it I never at that time nobody
was running around like I make
money on YouTube yeah no no I
don't even know you can make
money on YouTube so the only
reason to do it was passion yeah
there was no now there was
subscribers I was totally into
getting more subscribers but
nobody was like we were
successful a long time a long time
for years where people were like
you make money on YouTube
yeah and it's just like it was like
five years yeah like we were in it
so early that it was so awesome I
loved people not knowing like that
was the greatest thing yeah um but
it's so different now now every you
know these kids are seeing the
success and they're just like I'm
gonna be a YouTuber yeah and a
lot of them do love it but a lot of
them are just seeing the success
yeah they want the lambo they
want the that's why they want to do
YouTube and that's the part that I
just caution you like if you're
gonna do it fine whatever it is you
love to do and do it yeah you know
a lot of people you do I love what I
do and it works yeah you know we
found our Niche which was the
family aspect and the you know the
wild Vibes it was like the dad that
always knew how to step right on
that fine line and yeah it is
interesting though how people get
so enamored by like success and
money that they they do things that
they maybe wouldn't necessarily
want to do anyways they just like
they see you have it and they go oh
I can kind of copy it or mimic it or
do it this way and then I want to I
want to have the same success and
then it's interesting because like
those people normally get burnt out
on if they don't get it the way they
which they think they should then
they stop and it's like if you just
started from the first place being
like okay I actually care about this
or whatever you're caring about
whether it's YouTube or something
else go towards it with that kind of
love then you'll have success and
it's just like you said you just
proved it your whole story was like
even when it was nothing you still
loved it you still did it you still
enjoyed it and then you just kept
persevering through it when it was
nothing and I you had everything
because you give a [ __ ] about it
you loved it yeah the beautiful
thing about doing what you love is
that money actually becomes just
the byproduct the money is just the
bonus because you're you're getting
to do what you love yeah that you
will find more joy I'll tell you this
everybody that thinks money is the
happiness that that that is very
complicated yeah money comes
with a lot of problems it don't
matter how much money you have
you you're gonna have stress in
your life you're gonna have the
same problems you're gonna get
the same bad phone calls you're
gonna you're just gonna have
different problems money's great
yeah money's great but in the
business side of things if you can
do what you love that is the win
the money is just the bonus yeah
and it's a great bonus I do really
think people have a a
misconception though because I
think so many people talk about if
you love what you do you don't
work a day in your life I don't
necessarily think that's exactly fair
to say because you do have to work
no matter what if you love
someone because there are those
days and you're like okay I still
need to do this I still got to get this
done I still got to pay these taxes
and I'm not saying obviously like
don't go after the things you love
but I also I also not caution people
but I also want people to
understand that like no matter what
you love if you love what you do
you're still going to work it is
important because I think a lot of
people get to a point unless they
have that super mindset of
perseverance they'll get to the point
of success doing something they
love and it'll get hard and then
maybe they get a little discouraged
and then like slow down or maybe
try and find an easier way it's also
like I don't know is the difference
between like I love something and
like I really really want this and I
really really want to do this no
matter what yeah you know so I
don't know I think a lot of people
talk about like you know like I said
loving what you do and not
working a day in your life but
there's work no matter what and so
if what you love grows into
different Avenues which it should
yeah and some of those things
might become work yes right but
but the the main path is what you
love hopefully what you love
spreads into lots of branches yeah
and then some of those are
probably going to be I don't really
want to do that one because you're
not as good at that you don't enjoy
that right but your main path is
fueling all these branches and and
growing this giant tree and um
yeah I think that's kind of what
you're talking about exactly it
should outgrow you yeah right and
and then that's kind of where you
find the maybe the brand deal you
don't want to do but it's you know
it's what makes your show keep
running so yeah yeah have uh have
you ever like your perspective on
all this and going through this have
you ever like I don't know have
you ever thought like you wanted
less oh yeah because I always find
it so curious because it's like you
know you said what you guys said
about what's so funny all right
dude just the way you said you
wanted less and she said definitely
it just made me feel really good no
I think like within an RV and so
just traveling yeah yeah
homeschool them and just guess
what I'm talking about the reason
why I asked this question is
because you said earlier about your
your time through it and you guys
both were like it was almost like it
didn't happen because it happened
so fast and so much I'm really
curious because like I I sometimes
look back on everything I've done I
what you said that earlier I was like
oh I really relate to that like I really
heavily relate to time just feeling
like it was just like this because I
was so I had to do do do do they're
like a whole portion of my life
obviously great things came of it
but like genuinely me like living in
those moments not as much as I
was living in like what I had to
continue to do and that's why I
asked you that question obviously
we're talking you know in a group
here but you can answer this as
well I'm just curious what like have
you had moments like that and
you're like damn yeah for sure I
think about it every day I'm like
our daughter's five and I'm like I
don't even remember when you
were two like what we were just
like so busy all the time that it's
just your mind is just thinking
about the next thing and yeah what
are we gonna film tomorrow and
you're not living in the moment so
there's like so many times so I'm
like let's just like chill and yeah
enjoy our kids while they're at
home um but then we're at home
with them for like a day and we're
like okay let's let's go back to work
let's go back to work yeah wait
why did you think it was so funny
when I said the less thing I don't
know what was what jokes she's
like oh yo I'm just giving you too
much babe I know yeah I'll be
honest look like it's so funny like
we we um everything's always
sexual it's fine we come we come
from a very modest grow up both
of us um you lived in a trailer park
I lived in uh you know small corn
Town cornfield Town um you
know we both have like hard-
working parents and we we've
we've built a lot of Success
Through the internet and we live
now I think at a level that is not
that comfortable to us like I'm
probably more comfortable in a
nice Hometown Vibe like I want
my kids go ride bikes with their
friends and yeah and not a 1600
square foot house 1600 yeah 1600.
um it's like like even at for me like
when you say like simplify things
like I could easily simplify my life
down like I I I feel more
comfortable and uh why don't you
I think we will yeah I think we will
like um we we fell into this
beautiful home and um we've just
kind of been finishing it and you
know the probably the goal will be
just to sell in a few years and 16
000 square feet is that what you
guys are saying yeah that's a [ __ ]
Palace it's it's huge [ __ ] it's not
like it's not I love it it doesn't feel
like us it's just too much space am I
yeah like obviously you know you
have to have employees in a house
like that yeah you know like you
have to have everything going
down hallways it's ridiculous call
each other and see where you're at
yeah but we um it was it was a
home that we got um and and
finished building right before covid
so we stole this place oh I'm sure
you got a good deal and now it's
it's it's just that the price on it so
much higher yeah and we have a
bunch of land and um we love it
it's not beautiful it's nice it's just a
lot very thankful for it but for us
it's like it's not really Our Roots
like I feel like we're gonna be very
happy finding like a nice modest
home for the family and things like
that sounds weird to say no no no it
makes sense um I have a question
about YouTubers coming up now
like because you've obviously been
in the game you've done this for so
long what do you think's changed
now to become successful on
YouTube like what do you think is
most important for a Creator
coming up maybe you'll agree with
me but I feel like being authentic is
becoming less popular because
now you have to like to really
Bang on YouTube now you have
to follow the algorithm so what's
that do that makes you focus on
what the algorithm wants to see
versus what maybe you want to do
right yeah so look at the biggest
YouTubers right now and look you
can be yourself and pop you can
pull millions of views but if you
want to be that guy that's pulling
the millions the the 20s the 30s the
50s you are playing a very hard
game with the algorithm and you
understand it you probably have a
lot of people understanding it
around you yeah back when we
were doing it it was just like dude
you could I don't know you could
do anything and stand out you're
like look what he's doing now I can
do the same stuff and it's like dude
this has been done a thousand
times yeah you think just because
of the saturation that it's just so
much more difficult yeah it's
saturated every day there's you
know another thousand kids just
wanting to be YouTubers 100 000
kids want to be YouTubers yeah
it's only getting more flooded so
how do you stand out right but do
you think do you think you stand
out by following the the thing that
everyone follows it's not following
the thing that everyone follows it's
understanding what the computer
is going to favor of course right so
you can make your same video but
if you understand the algorithm it's
going to pop a lot harder of course
but when we were doing there was
no like system yeah it was if you
got the most views you were
trending that day yeah it's just and
that Trend made you pop yeah it
sucks now because it makes
everything feel a little bit more
contrived where it's just like we're
now just people like you said are
doing things just to please the
algorithm and then the algorithm
and the platform itself we were
talking about on your podcast is
like it's skewed it's skewed it has to
be a certain way if you say certain
things you're going to get popped
here you talk about this it's not
going to be go over well there like
and we know as creators now
who've been doing it for so long oh
if I talk about this or if I say this or
if I say this then my my videos are
going to get affected by it and it's
just kind of like a if to me it's
becoming a weird place and like
we were saying on your podcast as
well that I'm really grateful for like
this kind of content yeah that it
doesn't seem to be as um I don't
know it seems it's not as like
hammered as unless I had like a 10
12 minute video saying something
stupid maybe maybe that'll change
who knows something to hear this
podcast and then [ __ ] run the
algorithm through it a little bit
deeper but it just feels different
now man where it's like a lot of
creators know I can't say this so
like I'm not then just being my true
authentic self because like there's a
lot of things I'd love to say sure
that like I just don't because I know
that like you are gonna be like not
not because of the public reaction
it's more so because I think a lot of
the public reaction there's things I
would say to people like yo that's
true and I wish more people said it
yeah it's because the platform itself
is gonna is gonna like basically
bury your [ __ ] yeah I think the
number one goal and this is like so
cliche but it's like you got to find
your path you got to find your path
like and you'll find Joy on the path
right like if you're in it just for
money like hold on tight you're
gonna have a long run oh yeah
you're gonna have a long ride
you're gonna go through a little bit
miserable too I lost money for
years for easily three years I lost
money on YouTube like before I
made a dollar I lost money it was
sacrifice it was commitment it was
time it was but I freaking loved it
yeah and that makes it all worth it
so I don't know if you're trying to
create content just be you man like
people will attach to authentic
people like you can you can bro
you can you can read people you
know when somebody's not being
authentic yeah for sure and when
they're authentic people gravitate
to that yeah there's enough eyeballs
to find you it takes time like be
patient and make sure you're
having fun doing it and it won't be
it won't be so bad all right guys
quick Interruption from another
one of our sponsors check this out
this is honestly my favorite
company that I work with liquid IV
now guys being hydrated will
literally make you better at
everything else I've been working
out for years literally 18 19 years
when I'm dehydrated my pumps
are trash my brain is sluggish I feel
bad everything's bad when I'm
hydrated I feel amazing this stuff is
incredible you guys are gonna love
it give it a shot you guys can get it
at Costco in bulk if you want to get
it you can get it at liquid iv.com if
you put in code raw talk for 20 off
your entire order but I promise you
when I tell you this liquid IV is
incredible the reason why I like it
as well is because it's so easy like
to blend like it doesn't Clump The
Taste is good but it's not
overpowering so you're not like oh
man like it's too too sweet you
know like there's some energy
drinks I can think of that like are
really popular that are way too
sweet this is like everything you
want out of hydration without all
the [ __ ] and it mixes well you can
put in any water bottle I literally
drink this stuff every single day it
helps in my workouts it helps my
pumps give it a shot you guys will
not be mad you guys can get it at
Costco in bulk or go to liquid IV
use code raw talk get 20 off your
entire order again that's code raw
talk 20 off your entire order let's
get back into this podcast yeah I
think it's and I just tell people like
the reason why I love this content
but I'll tell people who make any
content like you just said is I think
the thing that truly differentiates
you then everyone else is doing the
same [ __ ] it's you right it's how
you do it it's your spin on it's like
what's genuine from you a lot of
people look around and they go oh
that guy said this or that guy talks
like that so I'm gonna talk like this
I'm going to talk like that and then
you're constantly playing this game
of catch up or what's coming next
based on what someone else is
doing so it's like you you're not
really living in that that path it's
like okay this is really going to
make you happy because like if
you're constantly looking to see
what someone else is do to figure
out what you should do yeah you're
not doing what you really want to
do and you're gonna at some point
if you don't get the return that
you're seeing someone else get the
person that you're watching and
following to do it like oh I'm gonna
copy this then you're gonna be like
demotivated and be like [ __ ] this
yeah so if it's not from your heart
like eventually you're gonna hate it
I want to throw this out there and
this this can help a lot of people
when I was a kid uh and still to this
day my data is a phenomenal
phenomenal guitar player best
guitar player I know he's a
shredder he can he can if you put
on a song right now he can
instantly grab his guitar and just
bam he can play it he understands
the guitar like magic dude like a
song he never heard before yeah he
just knows the exact like when you
whistle you know what to whistle
to make it sound like that he can do
that on his guitar so he's
phenomenal but if anybody was
like yo play like when I was a kid
play this song by AC DC he
refused to play anybody's music
anybody's music because he didn't
want to be influenced by their
music so when I was coming up on
YouTube I made it a point to not
watch YouTube I didn't want to be
of course I watched some YouTube
but I made it a point to never watch
YouTube I don't know who's
coming up I don't know what's
going on I didn't want any
influence on the outside I didn't
want to copy another influencer I
didn't want to and I think that
helped me be very original you
know everything we did I always
tried to make it original like I've
never seen this before you know
that was my goal it was definitely
our goal so be careful what you
ingest because it will you will like
what's working for you oh I'm
gonna do what he does yeah it's not
it may not work for for you yeah
you know what I mean that's a fact
that person was probably doing it
for 10 years before yeah and you
always actually saw it they blew up
that's right yeah so be original man
that's tough one too now because
everything's been done at least it
seems like it yeah so we talked a
little bit about the the AI stuff on
your paw but I wanted to talk about
it on this one man because it's it's
such like a just a current thing that
I think is only going to get crazier
and crazier but the idea of like
people just you know I could talk
about the president's saying
random [ __ ] like all these funny
things that you see and I'm just like
where where does this go because I
don't see it's not stopping like this
whole AI like the seemingly like
impersonating people that's just
because you have their Archive of
voices yeah it's where do you think
this goes genuinely because there's
no stopping this Judgment Day
yeah you really believe that just
judgment David but like I've
watched too many Sci-Fi movies
dude yeah um it's a great question I
think everybody's trying to figure
out right like think of the little the
little AI we've already been dealing
with and it's already like kind of
crazy dude it's kind of crazy even
the little stuff I mean people will
literally see something and and if
imagine if you just you especially
like imagine someone who's not so
closely tied into social yeah and
they just like some maybe their kid
goes hey did you see this to like a
like a you know an adult let's say
like a 45 year old and they're
gonna see that and be like what the
[ __ ] like something that's not true
and let's say it's crazy and
outlandish yeah you won't be able
to tell it from the real thing yeah
but like and most people already
we know being on the internet for
so long that most people don't go
and indulge in like what's actually
happening or what actually was
said like they just kind of go like
oh I saw it it's real so that's the
scariest thing because it's like how
does this it's scary and it goes to so
many levels um like we've been
dealing with even on small scales
like how many times have you said
something around a friend and then
you get an ad on your phone for
that yeah right that's oh that the
next like that's 20 hours that's a
tiny bit of like what I see coming
like we've already been in it a little
bit like we're getting ads based on
what we're talking to in our private
home right but now but but but
imagine now someone saying
someone not saying something
they're just never said it and then
you see someone that you look up
to or someone that you viewed and
now it's just like they're saying it
but they never actually said it and
then you just go well it's true he's
saying it right so then it's like like
The Joe Rogan thing I was talking
about I talked about the full Cent
pie we talked a little bit about on
yours and it's like there's an ad
where it's like it it went viral of
him talking about another product
that he was never talking about he
was talking about a different
product and they just like dubbed it
in there he goes yeah if you just
search it on Amazon the thing pops
up and it's like now people are
making millions of dollars
scamming people like yeah I think
I think we're gonna I think look I
think the country in the world has
already has major trust issues right
whether it's the government
whether it's the the elites whether
it's who believes in what we all
have like this like this Division and
trust and I think with AI like how
are you going to trust anything are
you going to believe anything
because this stuff's gonna get real
this stuff's gonna get to the point
where I think people will get out of
problems because you'll be able to
claim it's fake like I I just I don't
see this being a great thing yeah I
don't think it's gonna [ __ ]
implode man I feel like it's like
you're taking your privacy out of
now out of our own hands right
yeah right now you control your
content you choose to record you
choose what to edit you choose
what to post right pretty soon like
they will be able to dupe us so fast
bro because every word in the
dictionary has been said in the last
10 years on our Vlogs yeah it's
already in there the AI will ingest
all 2000 of our Vlogs it will
database the entire language just
make up whatever like 20 minutes
too like but the the other side of it
will be just like I never said that
and that'll go on for a couple years
this is crazy and then nobody
would like yeah I probably didn't
say it it's fake it's AI meanwhile I
did say it yeah right like I think
that'll be used for like dude it's
gonna be a nightmare bro I think
medically um you're gonna see just
computers heavily it sounds like
we're talking about the future but
we're not I think it's like pretty
much right here right now yeah
like we're right at the Tipping Point
of like like I don't think my kids
will drive a car I think the car will
just drive right yeah and and it's
going to be like that in all aspects it
will be maybe my doctor's not
telling me what I need to do to
better myself my computer will be
telling me what to do with myself
with micro computers that are on
my bloodstream and every
morning I pee it tells me exactly
how much calcium I need how
much magnesium and how much
insulin is it's gonna just be data
everywhere and we're going to rely
on this stuff well that's what I'm
saying I mean it's like this it seems
like it's like people humans are just
slowly becoming like cyborgs is
what's going to happen over time
yeah I mean even this device right
here it's yeah that's the beginning
of it but this is our this is now an
appendage I don't go to the
bathroom without it and I'll sit with
you without it I don't this is with
me and beside me at all times at
most it's at my nightstand charging
bro right if I get up right now and I
go for a drive and I forgot this bro
it's like where's my phone like you
started freaking out yeah you're
like wait this is now part of us yeah
so now imagine how dedicated will
become to AI which is trying to
help us and it's dedicated to our
health and it's dedicated to our we
were talking on my podcast about
Aviation and it's it's it's now taking
over everything like um Amazon
like you hear all the time they've
just laid off 20 000 people why do
you think that is there's probably a
computer now that took that spot
yeah so dude I don't know I can
only think of the cons you know
but I'm sure there's a ton of Pros
but yeah I think it's like an old
school coming before AI I think of
the cons and I'm just talking to like
a human like a human nature thing
like what what's happening there
because it's it's becoming less real
like human nature is changing and
shifting completely I just feel like
that that's the weirdest thing to me
is like we're be we're like people
are becoming less human and like
you said with this this is the start of
it this has been happening yeah
like how much do you not learn
now because you know you can
just Google it in one second yeah
and it's also like where where are
we like what are we relying on I
like some of these kids and the way
that they just ingest content and
you know understand the
algorithms and all this stuff and
social media but it's like we're just
slowly we're getting Dumber
because of this dude when I was a
kid or just [ __ ] week or two when
I was a kid I knew every friend's
phone number I knew my parent I
knew how to call people if I lose
that phone I can't even get a hold
of her I do not know her number
they're just going to put this phone
in US somehow and you're never
losing it go drive two hours to a
destination without your GPS I
mean I could do that I'm gonna I'm
really good at directions okay
we're a little old school okay but
the new the new gen is they're
relying solely on computers they're
done for man you flip their switch
they're done like how much longer
do you think cursive writing will
exist it's already done it's already
done four years will be completely
gone there's no use most schools
don't don't uh Public Schools don't
but as a kid I had to do it I had to
take tests I had to it's dead how
much longer is writing going to be
a thing bro everybody's going
paperless we're now just typing
fast my my son is like Dad I'm the
fastest typer in school now I'm
telling you dude it's turned into
[ __ ] like iRobot like it's we're
literally by the way by the way at
the end of all those movies it's bad
yeah we're done everyone I swear I
think this is how it ends I don't
know what time I've seen these
videos they release of like all these
uh robot dogs yeah yeah bro I'm
like this is yeah yeah the dogs dude
these dogs in the full huge the full
body ones with the backpacks I'm
like bro imagine getting invaded by
that imagine that in five years
when they got it really dialed in
Imagine a field full of soldiers
made out of metal bro and they just
have laser beam [ __ ] [ __ ] sites
yeah your your heirs will be like
Spears yeah it'll be like pointless
they're [ __ ] they're they're like
zero [ __ ] nobility that miss you
they're just gonna nail everyone
dude it's honestly it's scary it
sounds like we're like writing a sci-
fi movie no this is it's right it's
really happening it's writing itself
man that's what I'm saying it's like
what where the [ __ ] do we go
from here because like because like
the problem with this I think I
think maybe just uh right please a
cabin in the woods bro because
where this goes is like it also goes
to full control like if it's all
computerized and so who's who's
typing these buttons who's flipping
these switches it goes to full
control like I like complete control
yeah yeah imagine you um how
easy it will be to shut you down if
you break a law all of a sudden
your car won't start yeah your bank
account won't work yeah turn your
phone off it will be a push of a
button to end you it's insane right I
think I think a lot of it's designed
just for control yeah I think you
could really look at who's
designing this stuff and see how it
benefits them and and that might
help understand why AI is being so
pushed because right now it seems
like everybody's like this is bad
this is bad like turn around like
yeah like let's stop this now I feel
like even Elon Musk is saying it's
bad right oh yeah oh he freaking
created but he's also but he's also
further in it yeah I mean he's
definitely talking about it I mean
everyone's talking about this
because it's it is getting to a point
where it's like you know you see
like the the whole deep fake stuffs
and like everyone I read the
comments everyone's like oh you
should stop this yeah this is clearly
going the back it's already too real
too soon imagine two years from
now yeah it will be mastered bro
Jacob can you did did I text that to
you that picture that video of a of
Biden talking all right guys quick
Interruption this podcast is
sponsored by betterhelp okay I've
talked about this before I'm going
to talk about it again it's never any
less important mental health is the
most important form of Health we
do not have mental health
everything else starts to degrade in
our lives where our relationships
start to suck we start to suck
because our perception of ours
everything is just completely bad
do not underestimate listen I'm I'm
obviously a huge proponent of
physical health you guys know that
I've been training for so many
years but the mental aspect and the
thing that's so beneficial is like you
don't know sometimes you might
have a specific problem and maybe
you do you know it but sometimes
you don't know how to solve that
problem with just your own advice
right I'm the king of like I have the
best advice but oftentimes it's very
hard for me to take my own advice
and apply it so it helps when I have
someone else give me advice for
some reason I don't know why this
just helps but better help is it a
really efficient way for you to go
get outside advice unbiased advice
from someone that's willing to help
you who's a professional you guys
can do this online the comfort of
your home you don't have to worry
about going like see a therapist in
person it's probably also more cost
effective than showing up in
person because you don't have to
drive and spend money to drive
you all right guys so discover your
potential with better help that's
betterhelp.com raw talk for 10 off
your first month again that's better
h-e-l-p.com slash raw talk for 10 of
your first month let's get back into
this podcast uh oh oh that one that
one's good too it's Elon uh oh I
texted Jordan Peterson yeah it's
like four guys in a squad and dude
it's no listen to this hold on hold on
wiping on Tinder the other day and
saw a chick with the biggest [ __ ]
booty I've ever seen sounds God
damn that [ __ ] was huge I could
barely believe my eyes man I had
to cool myself off with a chocolate
chocolate chip ice cream cone from
Ben and Jerry's [ __ ] was actually
fire no pun intended uh my buddy
Kevin from the Secret Service then
brought me to the White House to
sign some more [ __ ] it was
probably more money for Belinsky
in Ukraine but I didn't really give a
[ __ ] remember to keep it real and
vote for me in 2024. bro that
should have me Diet oh is hilarious
it has like millions and millions of
views millions of likes oh my God
it's obviously you could tell it's like
a little it's obviously obviously he's
fake he can't speak that clearly but
it's it does sound yeah like I've
seen other ones where he was
talking like about nuclear yeah
yeah you've seen that and it
sounded way too real because it
was way slower paced it wasn't
trying to joke and it's it's like that's
what I'm saying if you show that to
someone and some like you know
like someone who's like 50 and not
tapped in Tapped in they're gonna
be like what the [ __ ] is that real
yeah like your dad I feel like would
totally believe that he would he's
like wrong did you see that video
I'm like that it's fake like but so no
so now it's like what the [ __ ] is
real yeah it won't take long before
we're just like it's fake everything's
fake then it's fake fake but I just
think it's a crazy time man I don't
know where the [ __ ] it's going but
like I'll tell this I'll say this it's a
fun time to be alive like we were
watching the world change big
time like I know I know I
remember being a kid and hearing
my grandpa say the same thing but
I think ours is like escalated to
another level yeah I think it's like
my grandpa was saying the whole
world is over the world but it's still
here yeah and and I and I say this a
lot too like turn your phone off turn
your TV off and just go outside
yeah this is important the world's
beautiful yeah it's beautiful like
we're so we're we're putting that
into like I don't think our brain is
meant to ingest what we're
showing it all day like we're seeing
uh every time I get on Twitter it's
either a fist fight video it's um
naked chicks it's it's it's so flooded
with like things that the brain
wasn't designed to be ingesting all
day yeah right I don't know what
it's doing to us it's not good but like
the dopamine is is is just like and
and they're designed to just feed us
dopamine yeah you know have you
ever seen that I don't know if you
could talk about this or not but
have you ever taken any
psychedelics I've never ever not
once not once I I had an experience
when I was uh I don't know how
old I was it was like high school
stuff yeah it was like um smoking
weed which I barely ever did I
never liked weed I was not the guy
that liked weed it was just like my
friends are doing it yeah some
weird party I was at and uh I tried I
tried it was in like a two liter bottle
in the bathtub and it was like filled
up and then you I don't even know
what it was what the [ __ ] a giant
bong in a bathtub it was like um
yeah it's like a two liter plastic
bottle yeah and then it would fill
with smoke with the water would
drain it would fill with smoking so
dumb bro it's just like a gravity
bong whatever yeah I didn't even
know what I was doing I was just
trying to fit in right yeah like dude
I was I was a nerdy kid right so I
was just like okay I suck this in I
had no clue did you get high so
here's what ended up happening
yeah apparently this had like PCP
in it uh what yeah that's like that
that's one of the drugs like you
could take once and [ __ ] your
whole life up maybe it was
something else that's a crazy but I
was seeing things I was dying I
was game over I was in the
hospital for like two days you were
seeing things oh yeah like things
that weren't there oh dude like
people running by and they were
like nobody's there I was I was I
was in the future bro I was like in
the future I would ask for
something like can you grab me
that and then they would say you
already asked us that and I'd be
holding what I asked for it was so
[ __ ] I never ever ever tried
another drug in my life after after
that no I think I think it was a
blessing yes I always use that story
as a blessing because it kept me
away from it I no longer needed to
fit in with anybody bro I am good
that's that's a crazy [ __ ] story I I
still don't know what really
happened but like people later were
like yeah that was laced like that
was lazy yeah because marijuana
wouldn't make you just see [ __ ]
that's not oh no no no it wasn't just
marijuana I had had marijuana
before so uh that was like a big gift
to me in my life um I stayed away
from all drugs forever yeah that's
funny that reminds you well no it's
not at all like my story but funny I
stopped drinking because when I
was like 16 I was like I was at a
great America in like amusement
park ride Place yeah and I was with
my buddies and I thought I was so
cool because you know you know
how people drink like the hard the
hard liquor so I was drinking this
Bacardi 151 it's like super high oh
yeah you light that on fire yeah
yeah and I was like they're like
yeah this stuff is so strong and I
was like this ain't [ __ ] I remember
like dumb ass 16 year old kid and I
remember drinking like the bottle
like a handle and like slamming oh
my God it'd be like like oh it's
nothing and then I blacked out like
I remember like blacked out and
then I come to and I'm like on my
toilet and I'm like crying the room
is spinning I'm like where's my
mom yeah and I'm just like after
that I swear dude that like you like
you said I had one of those
Epiphany moments where I was
like I'm never drinking I didn't
drink till I was like 24. dude that's
exactly what happened to me I
never I didn't even try alcohol until
yeah 24 probably 24. yeah yeah I
was scared to this day if I start
feeling off at all I start to panic like
it's coming back yeah interesting
jacked me up dude do you get you
do you ever deal with anxiety in
your life yeah for sure yeah what
forms of it um kind of just panicky
yeah panicky anxiety like worrying
of death yeah like just like stress
where yeah yeah I'm gonna die um
I think I need to go get an MRI I
think I need to have a brain scan
I'm like yeah fine fine nothing's
wrong yeah and then and then
when I was uh uh 16 before that
happened I um I was freaking out
like I thought I was dying like
multiple times a night I wake up I
couldn't explain to my parents how
I felt it's like I'm dying like I feel
like I'm leaving my body like I feel
like I'm looking down on my body
like it was the most bizarre thing
ever and this went on for like six
months nobody could figure it out
hospitals like couldn't figure it out
I wrecked my car and my uncle
took my car and he's fixing it and
he calls my parents he says I think
I know what's wrong with Roman
he's got no exhaust pipes wait wait
I can't tell if you're joking or not
this is a hundred percent true story
he said you're out of your body
experience is because you have no
no no no I just kept feeling like I
was dying oh okay the exhaust was
getting your car for six months
nobody knew what was wrong with
me and I couldn't leave it okay I
was freaking out the way you
explain that story threw me off
because it was like yo he's got no
pipes on his he needs his exhaust
okay all right and I thought it was
like yo that's why he's [ __ ] up
right now yeah he needs to do
exhausting he needs a new exhaust
system bro problem solved got you
I know where you're going he calls
my friends and says I think I know
what's wrong with him because the
whole family everybody's trying to
figure out what's wrong with me
he's like and it's winter time right
so I have a 1972 Plymouth then I
gotta start it up so I'm sitting for 30
minutes in my car every morning
letting it warm up yeah and all this
exhaust is just kind of smelling it
carbon monoxide dude poisoning
yeah I was making sauce dude just
like yeah that's my car right I'm
sucking in all this carbon
monoxide carbon monoxide
poisoning yeah it took like nine
months for it to get out of my
system that's [ __ ] intense yeah
wait well I don't understand what
you're not smelling you got to be
smelling this to a significant degree
to be like what the [ __ ] am I
doing sitting here no like I don't
think carbon monoxide has a smell
I just smell my exhaust I don't even
know what carbon monoxide was I
didn't even know people went in
their garage and killed themselves
with it yeah like that I was just this
kid with his car oh yeah my car
smells that's a crazy [ __ ] story
innocent kid like and you're just
tripping like what is going on with
me bro I almost died for sure damn
I wonder how many more times
you had to start the car in the
morning to [ __ ] be actually yeah I
don't know I and it goes back to
like this blessing I wrecked that car
had I not wrecked the car I would
have just kept doing it damn bro so
do you believe that like like things
in life are so just the way they are
supposed to happen do you believe
that well I'm a very spiritual person
yeah so I I I've prayed my whole
life I pray a lot so when things like
that happen when I when I'm uh
you know whatever stupid thing I
do and I learned that lesson I
usually take it as like a blessing a
real blessing like a gift yeah to
learn from it I could choose not to
learn from it and keep doing it and
deal with the consequences but I
have always been good at like all
right I am never doing that again
yeah ever so have you have you
ever struggled with your faith no
never never never All In all in I
have man yeah on and off yeah I
mean it's very it is a very personal
thing yeah like it's it's uh I've
obviously spent a lot of time not
practicing it yeah yeah I mean
through my most my YouTube
career come up it was like I got
time for this yeah probably making
money dude yeah yeah I put it all
off but uh yeah I'm very thankful
to have that my life and to uh I just
said this on a podcast it's like such
a gift and no with all my heart like
I know with all my heart like you
believe that I just believe yeah
that's it there's no there's no second
guessing or denying Jesus the Lord
it's like I'm all in yeah all in bro it
gives me so much joy in my life
and our life like we do it all
together you know my kids and
family prayers every night and uh
it's just something we do
personally very personal yeah yeah
yeah I struggle with it man I've
gone did you grow up in it I grew
up in it because that can sometimes
be a big reason a lot of people kind
of back away in the Catholic
church a little a little bit more like
yeah rigorous yeah um and I think
because of the way that that whole
thing is like institutionalized I was
like this is this feels really weird
um and so then I remember when I
got out of it I was like I don't know
how I feel about this not
necessarily like the idea of God but
more so like organized religion
yeah sure um and then like you
said I just got caught so caught up
in doing the things I had to do that
I wasn't like I wasn't finding ways
to connect sure and I just kind of
disconnected and then you know
things would go bad and bad and
bad and bad and then you'd think
about it and it's like you know the
same concept you think like you
know why would God allow this to
happen to someone right wow
some you know like a kid why
would a little kid end up with
cancer like as soon as they're born
yeah you know and then you start
to question all these things and I
just I dealt with that my own way
for my own life experiences and I
kind of like rescinded myself but
lately I've been a lot more like
praying I've been I've been coming
back to it honestly like I I miss um
not feeling comfort in it but I just
missed that like almost like internal
dialogue that I had and I
remembered before I really started
coming up that just that like you
said that that feeling of almost like
peace and everything no matter
how it goes just because you have
that that certainty yeah and and I've
noticed myself coming back to it
and it does feel good it does feel
really good so I had this
conversation um not specifically
this conversation but I talked to
you had George on your podcast
recently yeah yeah you guys talk
about faith I'm assuming yeah
definitely because he loves to I
Love George yeah I do too gotta
have him back on but um yeah has
so you you've always been a
Believer you've always been in it
that way yeah just like it's weird
too because we never went to
church as a kid yeah ever like my
family and maybe maybe that
helped me find it on my own yeah
um because yeah I mean I could
see like forcing your kids to go to
church um could go the other way
right they're just like it's not for me
or or you've made me go I don't
like it um so I just we just found it
on our own but uh my parents
certainly always taught me the
right morals and taught me that
there was God but there was we
never went to church it was just
like you know same thing my
parents were stupid busy and they
just you know living for the world
um but eventually they did join a
church and they went constantly I
watched our lives change I
watched everything change but
even when they did it Mom and
Dad did it and never asked us to go
it was very personal to them and
the same thing has happened with
us it's just very personal to us and
um just something like it's hard to
explain to people like I said this on
Logan Paul's podcast it was like
the concept of like what we've got
to do in our career has been what a
lot of people just dreamed to do
we've traveled the world we've
we've we've skydived into buy
over the palm and we've collected
all this money in our bank accounts
and we we have all these worldly
Joys right yeah but finding Jesus
and the Lord in my life has more
joy than all of that combined and I
can't deny it is there's no way for
me to pretend that it's not 10 times
better than everything I've
achieved in this life like I'm that
happy following the Lord yeah so
and again it's what about it though
what about it like what what about
it makes you have that feeling or
that emotion because people want
like listening I believe I I believe
for me it's the Comfort I believe I
get an overwhelming load of
comfort and joy knowing that I can
have peace in my home and have
this idea that my family will be
protected and that we will go on
after this temporary life to this
better place that to me is very
exciting like very exciting you've
never you've never doubted it
never ever yeah yeah damn I mean
I mean it's probably there's
probably certainly been times it's
like you know why is this
happening of course of course right
um and that's that a lot of that's
where Free Will comes in right
yeah it's like we have free will like
the Lord is never going to affect
your free will you're right now you
can go break any law you want
right you make a bunch of [ __ ] up
choices too you can do whatever
you want that's the beauty of the
Lord like he you know I don't
know it's it's super like strange to
talk about because I've I've went
my entire career without ever
saying it no but I just I'm I'm I'm at
least at this point in my life I'm I'm
really um looking more towards it
again so that's why I'm just talking
to you about it so I'm interested in
it I know the days that I wake up
the days that I wake up and I read
the scripture are my best days
every single time in fact I know
that when I'm having a bad day I
didn't read my scriptures that day
whether my day is good or not
reading the scriptures gives me just
enough armor and and Comfort to
get me through the bad situations
that doesn't mean you're not gonna
have a bad day right yeah of course
not but it gives you just enough
strength to get through it like I'm
weaker without scriptures I'm I'm
not as uh I'm not even on my game
as much without the scriptures like
it really has saved me man like
seriously it's beautiful yeah [ __ ] I
need to get there yeah because I
said how I just have doubts so
much it's a lot of discipline it's it's
like like reading scriptures is
boring dude like it's so boring a lot
of this is hard to understand it's
you know it's complicated it's
Parables it's it's not exactly
designed to be like well this is so
fun yeah it's like the sacrifice that
you would sit for 20 minutes 10
minutes yeah read a few you know
it's the thing for me that's so
interesting is my rational mind
goes like well you know you talk
about the scriptures and and you
know the stuff that you're reading I
always think then isn't these are
just like kind of becoming almost
like just daily affirmations not I'm
not trying to simplify and say it's
that simple because it's it's more
you know complex than that but
what I'm saying is my rational
mind like the um the cynicism in it
is like well is you're just believing
this because like you want to
believe this or are you reading
these things and you're getting this
the good information from it and
that's why your day is better and
not necessarily just because it's like
a connection to to Jesus or to God
right so that's where my mind goes
like well what about that aspect to
it yeah like maybe it could be that
same feeling could be granted to
you from yourself in a different
way yeah and that's why I always
go back and forth in it but and then
I try to remind myself and I try and
look back on my life when like I
really like kind of surrendered and
submitted to this this idea and like
being being more connected to it
and I and I look back at the times
that I would you know I would
really actively pray my life was
[ __ ] great right and so like I have
this weird battle where I'm like
why don't I try and do that again
and then I'm like well I've been
[ __ ] over and I've been hurt and
I've been this and I've been that
and I'm like it's just hard for me to
get all the way back to that if I'm
just being honest yeah of course
man it's absolutely tough and and I
think like it comes with a lot of
responsibility too right like even if
the even if the the the Bible was
completely made up let's just say it
was totally fake it still is still
designed to make a very good
human yeah like there's no part of
that Bible that would that would
force you to be bad it's designed to
make you good on this Earth to
have good morals to to love thy
neighbor to to it's designed to make
good people so even if it was fake
you're still getting the
understanding of what makes a
good person like I think it has such
good uh morals behind it yeah you
know just be kind to people what I
can't even believe we need to hear
be kind to people right like that's a
that's a real struggle for some
people yeah you know I feel like
the internet's made that [ __ ]
worse human like that you know
the Bible helps me a lot just like
take a step back man be humble be
humble be submissive you know
ask for help get on your knees and
ask for help like submit and say
your prayer and you watch how
fast your life changes you believe
that wholeheartedly absolutely
yeah that's beautiful absolutely
[ __ ] I've watched it I've watched
my entire life change through this
man yeah I mean yeah it's proof is
in everything you have obviously
yeah I give it all the Lord you have
two [ __ ] helicopters give it all of
them just like the weirdest thing in
the world to me all right quick
Interruption for one of our
sponsors admit mobile listen if

your Wireless plan for 15 bucks
and ship to your house for free go
to mintmobile.com raw talk again
that's mintmobile.com raw talk
crazy savings let's get back into
this podcast it's not so strange bro
I'm the [ __ ] buys helicopters and
drivers I often believe that like
you're closer to God I'm I'm look at
that just trying to get to you bro um
yeah it might help who knows I um
yeah it's very personal and it's the
teamwork too like we're it's not
like I do this myself right yeah we
do this together as a family and it's
beautiful it's beautiful I love it and
I wouldn't deny it I would never
deny it and uh you know I don't
like preaching it to people I don't
like telling people to do it I just
like people to know that I do it
personally yeah that's that's it that's
fair that's it yeah so nothing wrong
with that yeah but let's so let's talk
about that a little bit you have two
helicopters um you you have a lot
of cars I know I know you got a
GTR no I got a couple old Toyota
trucks which I love like the 1980
trucks yeah like ones like fully
restored it's beautiful um one's like
kind of a mess it's fun it's a romper
but why helicopters like what's
going on so I'll tell you a funny
story there's vlogs 10 years worth
of Vlogs With a handful of them
talking about one day like I'm
calling out to my viewers bro
watch one day I will learn how to
fly like after I will own a helicopter
which by the way when I was
saying that that was so far-fetched
that was like never ever possible
like 10 years ago yeah 10 years ago
eight years ago seven years ago um
so it's always been this thing when
I see a helicopter dude I'm like that
is the most badass thing on the
planet bro you mean they can just
land wherever they can just take
off like that is so cool when you
watch war movies as a kids it's
helicopters but bringing in the
troops it's to me they're just their
design they're so efficient they can
get you to point A to point B you
don't need a Runway you don't
need a flight plan you just uh yeah
ow bro yeah I see all my favorite
movies were were Vietnam movies
and they all had cool I just think of
that song what's that [ __ ] song
dude yeah this is the CCR song yes
yeah exactly all of them songs
work yeah um so we um I bought
this old car that was like for a
burnout competition stupid little
car and uh my buddy Cletus who's
on our podcast yeah um he's like
I'll do the car for you so I shipped
it to him and then I go to visit him
so that we can launch this car idea
like I'm gonna do this burnout
competition Cletus is gonna build
it it's gonna be this fun event and
um we're talking about helicopters
like like crazy and uh he ends up
like helping me like he inspires me
like that day we were like buying a
helicopter that day I was like we're
buying a helicopter right out the
gate it's a [ __ ] it's just such a
crazy decision he had a helicopter
before he even took one flight to
try and be a pilot yeah helicopter
before so it was like maybe three
weeks after that um Cletus is like
helping me find the right
helicopters like this is what you
need to train and this would be
your best options it's a turbine he's
like just so good at this stuff right
so finds this helicopter and he's
like you ready to buy this I was
like I'm ready right now where do I
send my money he's like are you
serious I was like I'm buying this
thing right now he's like all right so
we fly to Texas and um we buy
this helicopter dude and I've been
training for seven months isn't it
ever sketchy like you don't feel like
you're gonna [ __ ] uh well I mean
you train you train I mean of
course there's gonna be like wind
like At first wind scared the crap
out of me dude it's like boom you
just the whole thing rocks and
you're like we're dying but it's like
what it's designed to handle it's it's
fantastic and now I'm just I'm
literally just getting to where it's
like you know it's beautiful outside
I'm literally Brit I'm gonna go fly I
jump in the helicopter I go to a
friend's house land at his house
hang out with him fly home like
it's the greatest freedom on the
planet and it's so weirdly like not
that um there's not all the laws with
it like it's it feels in Ohio it feels
very yeah of course yeah it feels
very behind the times like every
time I'm flying I'm like how's this
legal like how are more people not
doing this how is this not legal and
why are we not teaching that this is
a reachable achievement this is
reachable for people I never knew
how much years there's all
different prices well yours yeah I
bought um my first one it's like
600. okay okay so almost like a
million dollars it's like it's it's it's a
great helicopter I really like it um
but that is achievable achievable
yeah like I'd rather buy a helicopter
than a Lamborghini dude like I'm
still stuck in traffic with a
Lamborghini like I I don't care
dude and helicopters are just how
much time do you have to spend to
learn how to fly a helicopter to fly
one officially dude I'll tell you this
this first 10 hours is like crazy
crazy I you need 40 hours with an
instructor you have to take a
written exam and pass a check ride
I still have to take my Checker out
I've not done that yet in order to to
fly with passengers like if you
came over let's get in a helicopter I
cannot do that until I pass my
check got it I can fly solo I feel like
it's way different here in Cali it's
like you probably can't do this at
all it's probably very stressful yeah
because there's there's so much air
space restrictions here yeah you
just have to understand it you can
you can definitely do it but it's just
yeah you're probably radio calling
out of your you've somewhat
inspired me to want a helicopter
dude it's it is spreading like
wildfire bro you get in a helicopter
it's game over it's game over it's
honestly one of the [ __ ] craziest
things about you it's pretty funny to
me it's that whole concept I just
imagined you like waking up being
like I'm gonna go fly my helicopter
oh my God and then go to your
friend's house bro it makes him so
happy nothing else makes him not
happy facts every time I every time
I love that that's coming everything
from hers you know every time I
come home from flying she's like
you need to fly every day because
you're all excited dude I'm so
happy like you've never felt
Freedom like hopping in your own
helicopter in your backyard and
going to visit a buddy that sounds
insane like you're just looking
down at the cars like I'm already
there like you said in my mind it
seems unachievable my exact
thought my exact thought I didn't
think that was achievable I didn't
know humans could just go buy a
helicopter and fly it I did not know
that was a thing damn dude I
thought you had to own a business
that you had to own a business or
be part of the government or uh
Med flight or something we
shouldn't put this out because there
more people can think and they're
just gonna get helicopters airspace
is gonna be [ __ ] crowded dude
another thing super cool that I
learned through the training is um I
always just assume probably from
war movies if a helicopter shuts off
it just falls to the ground and
explodes which makes sense right
that's exactly what I think would
happen right if if it stops you just
fall and Tumble and die um it's
incredible how helicopters descend
um there's a there's a spread clutch
in those rotor blades right have you
ever blown on one of those little
windmill things yeah of course
yeah and they spin with the wind
right yeah just as if you had engine
failure in a helicopter that spread
clutch a loud spin the rotor to spin
freely and now you are working off
the descend rate in the air through
the rotor system so your dude you
float through the sky you so you go
you go up there and just turn it off
and like go like this you literally
float down bro it's unbelievable it's
it's incredible like I don't know
how to explain it we we've done a
hundred of them you go up and
you shut the all the power off and
you have to go all the way oh that
sounds fun it's unbelievable do you
like it are you scared not sound fun
um I started all of my ground
training because I'm like well I get
like super car sick and I think it's
like a control thing so I'm like
when we flew in the helicopter I
was like I feel like I have to at least
know what's going on to like not
be sick and for safety and convince
you to to take those you know he'd
probably convince you to [ __ ]
learn how to do it well yeah I
wouldn't have ever done that well I
think I think for us it's like we have
four kids right yeah so I love love
the idea of like both of us
understanding how to Pilot that
helicopter yeah if something
happens God forbid one of us have
an issue the other one has enough
education to land that helicopter
and that's like that's kind of where
my mind is yeah you need you
need to understand this machine
which by the way is one of the
hardest things I've ever done in my
life to understand it by far okay
well that's so that's why this is
more it is the most ridiculous
machine to maneuver that you can
ever imagine I don't know how to
explain it I do not know how to
explain it it's like if I handed you a
unicycle right now if you couldn't
do it you'd die that's a helicopter
you cannot ride that unicycle until
you learn how bro that's a
helicopter it'd be like uh holding up
a plate and putting a marble in the
middle and you have to keep the
marble dead center that's flying a
helicopter it's like naturally that
Marble's going to want to go to the
edge and just roll like you can't
keep it in the middle terrifying
yeah what the [ __ ] it's listen I
don't know if I want to do it no
more if the helicopter would drop
me out of it if the helicopter was
just invented and they're like try
this the first thing I would say is
number one it's not built right and
it'll never fly then you get in with
an instructor and you're hovering
and for the first five hours you're in
a full-blown wet sweat death
gripping the cyclic and you're
trying your hard out nothing you
do keeps that helicopter straight
there's nothing you do I don't want
to do it anymore I take it back dude
I take it back I was pretty worn like
this is the hardest thing you'll ever
do and I'm like come on bro it's a
helicopter they fly they hover no
you hover it bro when I come to
Ohio you got to take me in this
helicopter yeah so you have to
whatever your check thing is yeah
you got to do that yeah it's my next
thing it's the only thing I have left
I'm done I'm just waiting for the
test [ __ ] yeah I'm down to come
before we get out of here what has
been your favorite podcast episode
so far who's your been your
favorite guest gosh Bradley Martin
hands down no man I don't oh God
I was just asked this and I couldn't
answer it um I'm probably being
just like favoritism towards my
father but he did a podcast with me
like I did a podcast with him and it
was unbelievable like really really
good um Noah's was awesome
yeah my son like they've like they
all have such moments they all
have such moments I have been so
thankful for every podcast episode
I've got to I've personally learned
so much through my podcast
already yeah it's the best 20 some
episodes in yeah like every guest
has come with something so
awesome like in their own I think
we're all so you could pull a guy
off the street right now and throw
him right here and probably be
fascinated with his life story you
know what's crazy a lot of people
have asked me to do that on my
podcast I'm gonna get a random
person you should I feel like we
are all like if you hear anybody's
story it's it's incredible like we all
have such Journeys yeah like to
even make it to where we are right
now it's such a journey like it
would take you know how long to
explain it you know it's crazy yeah
no it's beautiful man this type of
content is like hands down my
favorite and this is stuff I'll
definitely do for for many many
years to come yeah that's my plan
too is just like I wanna I wanna
make sure I'm always just having
fun with it and not taking it too
serious it's like because you
already know having a podcast
what's the hardest part getting
guests yeah having guests and then
and then you start to panic I don't
have no guests and no guests lined
up and then so I'm trying to just
like keep it fun keep it chill Don't
Panic like yeah just keep going
yeah when you guys could always
even even if you have since you
have two people you can always
just rip on topics and stuff as well
yeah so just yeah we're gonna
we're gonna try that for the first
time like actually try to Riff on like
popular topics yeah yeah that's
something I I'd like to do as well I
just need a um I need a [ __ ] co-
host yeah I can't do it I mean I can
do it by myself but it's like there's
something nice about talking to a
human yeah yeah well soon you'll
have your AI yeah dude that oh
that that other thing you guys
showed me at the spot the [ __ ]
photo thing I'll have that set up and
then I'll just have someone talk to
me yeah you can just beam them in
from anywhere damn I think we
got it figured out fun stuff yeah I
think we figured it out lots to look
forward to yeah well I appreciate
you coming man I appreciate you
coming to pop through and and
you've done so much in this space
it's [ __ ] incredible and I love your
message like your overall message
smile more because yeah honestly
like that's all this [ __ ] really
comes down to it's like like we
were talking earlier about being
happy and the things that you're
actually doing not just doing
something because you think
someone else is cool you want to
success that someone else has but
like that that idea of smiling more
reminds me of just all of that just
remember why you're doing
something then enjoy it enjoy truly
love it yeah live by I try to live by
it yeah it shows man I mean you
have tons of success you guys you
guys are [ __ ] really chill people
like it shows in person you know
it's not just like some online [ __ ]
they're like Oh They'll probably be
this way you're just exactly like
that thank you so it's beautiful and
I appreciate you coming on the
show dude it's so good to get some
time with you yeah like I've seen
you for so many years we've we've
obviously bumped into each other
we've met and chatted but we've
never like just chilled so yeah it's
good I'm serious though I do really
want to come ride in a helicopter
cool I am afraid of it but after what
you explain the [ __ ] ball on the
plate thing I'm like yeah I don't
want to die accidents happen but
the goal is to not have that happen
yeah yeah so figure your [ __ ] out
and then I figure you're right yeah
I'd love to come for real but so I
appreciate you guys coming uh
thanks brother yeah thank you so
much thank you.
