Environment and Tools -The Internet and the World Wide Web – Ways to Access the Internet and the web
– Types of websites – Web Design Tools – Web Design Roles - Web publishing fundamentals –
Advantages of web publishing – Basic web design principles – Web publishing issues.

UNIT II WEB DESIGN CONCEPTS 9


Website Development planning process – Define the site’s purpose – Identify the target audience –
Determine the site’s general content – Select the site’s structure – Design the look and feel of the site –
Specify the site’s navigation system – Typography and images.

UNIT III INTRODUCTION TO HTML 9


What is HTML-HTML Documents-Basic structure of an HTML document-Creating an HTML document-
Mark up Tags-Heading-Paragraphs-Line Breaks- HTML Tags.

UNIT IV ELEMENTS OF HTML 9


Introduction to elements of HTML-Working with Text-Working with Lists, Tables and Frames- Working
with Hyperlinks, Images and Multimedia-Working with Forms and controls.

UNIT V CASCADING STYLE SHEETS 9


Concept of CSS- Creating Style Sheet-CSS Properties-CSS Styling(Background, Text Format, Controlling
Fonts)-Working with block elements and objects-Working with Lists and Tables- CSS Id and Class -Box
Model(Introduction, Border properties, Padding-Properties, Margin properties)-CSS Advanced (Grouping,
Dimension, Display, Positioning, Floating, Align, Pseudo class, Navigation Bar, Image Sprites, Attribute

Upon the completion of the course, the students will be able to


 acquire knowledge on developing webpage.
 learn fundamental web design concepts.
 create the webpage using HTML tags.
 enhance the webpage design using various elements in HTML such as list, table, and frames.
 apply different style sheets concepts to enrich the webpage.
