(UOI)Unit of Inquiry- How we express ourselves

UOI探究主题 – 我们如何表达⾃⼰


Dear parents, in the following inquiry classes, students will learn about the images that exist around them. Students
will get access to different types of images which contain many different elements and have various functions.
Through this unit, we hope students can understand “image” is a way to express themselves and can deliver
information. The same image can be read by different perspectives. 亲爱的家⻓们,在接下来的探究中,学⽣
将围绕超学科主题“我们如何表达⾃⼰”展开探究,主要的话题是图像。学⽣们将接触到各种各样的
图像,包含不同的元素,有着不同的功能,并得到不同的反馈。通过本单元的学习,我们希望学⽣
能够理解图像是⼀种表达⽅式,可以帮助我们传递思想和信息,同⼀图像允许不同的解读和观点,
更好的⽀持学⽣发现和表达观点、情感、⽂化,反思、扩展、享受我们创造⼒的⽅式,提升我们的
审美鉴赏。

These are the lines of inquiry that the students will be working towards understanding:
以下是学⽣理解本探究单元的⼏条线索:
1. What Images are (form) 图像是什么(形式)
2. How design elements of images support the communication process (function)图像中的元素是如何⽀持交流的
(功能)
3. How we interpret and respond to images (perspective)我们如何解释和回应图像(观点)

These are some questions that students are going to answer throughout the course of the unit.
以下是学⽣在本探究单元中将要回答的问题:
1. Who are your family members? Why are they your closest people? 我们在哪些地⽅能看到图像?你最喜欢的
图像是什么,为什么?
2. What good friends do you have? How do you get along with your friends? 图像中有哪些元素?
3. Why do you have different emotions such as sadness, happiness, excitement and expectation when you get
along with your friends? 各种元素在图像中发挥怎样的作⽤?
4. How does the other person feel when you are unhappy? 对于相同的图像我们的感受和理解⼀样吗?为什么?
5. How do you re ect on your behavior in family life and friendship? 世界各地不同区域的图像特点相同吗?为什
么?
6. What can we do to maintain a good relationship (including family, friendship)? 为什么会有图像,图像能为我
们提供什么帮助呢?
7. Apart from family and friendship, when do we have relationships with whom? 如何创造⼀幅完整的图像?
8. Is all public relations good for us? 图像与我们的实际⽣活有关联吗?关联是什么?
9. How does our performance in public life affect others? 图像对于你来说有什么作⽤,你会如何利⽤图像?

Below are some activities that we are going to do to help us understand their lines of inquiry.

以下是为促进学⽣理解本单元的探究线索⽽将进⾏的活动:

1. Pre-experience assessment: The teacher will learn about the children’s current understanding of the various
relationships around them through question-and-answer dialogues and record them.分享⾃⼰喜欢的⼀副图像,并
说说⾃⼰为什么喜欢。

2. Students will make a family tree, which hints at the children’s understanding about family relationships from the
arrangement of personnel positions. 前经验评估:以图像的⽅式(辅以⽂字)记录下⾃⼰对图像的已有认知。在整
个探究单元过程中,不断的提出⾃⼰的问题以及梳理⾃⼰所习得的内容。(KWL)

3. Students will share stories about their own family life, express their own feelings and speculate on the feelings of
the other person.学⽣将详细的接触图像中的不同元素,如颜⾊、形状、⼤⼩、组合等等,并且将图像进⾏分类,
⽐如暖⾊调/冷⾊调,及了解其给⼈的感受。

4. Parents will be invited to the school to share family stories from a parent's perspective and tell the children how
they feel as parents.学⽣将欣赏到不同世界名画,并且表达⾃⼰对于名画的观点和感受,然后与他⼈分享和对⽐。
5. Students will re ect on the impact of their behavior in family life on their family members. (Teacher's record/
student drawing)
学⽣将了解到具有代表性的⼀些绘画⻛格和地域⻛格强烈的绘画作品,并了解其背后相关的⽂化。
6. Students will have the opportunity to post photos of themselves on the friendship tree and talk about why they
want to be with a child. (Teacher record)
学⽣将接触到与图像相关的绘本,了解和掌握⼀些绘画欣赏的⽅法和视⻆。
7. Students will record (draw) a story about him and friends every week in the form of a diary.学⽣将进⾏⼀些相关的
绘画游戏以体验图像是⼀种表达⽅式,如“你画我猜”、“⽆⾔的课堂”等游戏。
8. Students will learn about the expression of emotions and understand the causes of emotions. 学⽣将利⽤给到的不
同元素创作图像,呈现和分享。

9. Students will use creative elements to make a name tag, and use the name tag to express themselves. 学⽣将⽤
到不同的材料和元素制作⾃⼰的姓名牌,并了解姓名牌也是⼀种表达⾃⼰的⽅式。
10. Students will re ect on the in uence of relationships in social life on us and what actions we should take.设计“我的
⾃画像”,要求通过元素的运⽤和搭配,体现出“我”的特点,分享及听取他⼈的意⻅。

The Summative Assessment will be like this: Students will be able to showcase their understanding about
relationships by drawing/presenting on at least one important relationship in their life.

总结性评估:学⽣将被邀请为我们班设计班徽,⽤英⽂来介绍颜⾊、形状、⼤⼩等,尝试⽤英⽂表述为什么做这样的设
计(如果有困难,这部分可⽤中⽂表述)。
