1. It is mandatory to use Rubrics for marking of papers for uniform marking throughout the Punjab.

2. In case of any ambiguity, please consult rubrics manual, rubrics video or PEC trained LMT of your district.

him/her marks.

Note: The answers of the students may be different. However, it should be relevant to the question.
Scoring Rubrics
Award of Marks:
One Relevant Sentence= Marks (2)
5 Relevant Sentences= Marks (10)
Irrelevant content will not be marked.
Deduction of Marks:
No mark will be deducted for up to 3 mistakes in punctuation, grammar and spelling.
Every four mistakes of punctuation, grammar and spelling will lead to a deduction of one mark from gained marks.
Capitalization errors will be included in the punctuation errors.

Scoring Rubrics:
Award of Marks:

1. Correct date/ date format =  1 Mark


2. Correct time/ time format = 1 Mark
3. Location reference = 1 Mark
4. Name of addressee = 1 Mark
5. Body = 5 Marks
6. Closing = 1 Mark

Body of the letter:

1. 1 correct sentence of function detail = 1 Mark


2. 1 sentence of invitation = 1 Mark
3. 1 sentence about charm of function = 1 Mark
4. 1 sentence to ask about acceptance = 1 mark
5. Appropriate Register =  1 Mark

Closing: Informal phrase = 1 mark


Deduction of Marks:

1. No marks will be deducted upto three mistakes of spelling, grammar and punctuation.
2. Every 4th mistake of spelling, grammar and punctuation will lead to deduction of one mark.
3. Capitalization will be included in the punctuation marks.
4. Deduction of marks of spelling, grammar and punctuation will not exceed 2 marks.

When: Clearly stated when the story was held = Marks (2)
Where: Clearly stated where the story was held = Marks (2)

Resolution: (Solution of the conflict)

If the student clearly states the proper resolution of the story


in complete sentence form, award 4 marks.
If the student clearly states the proper resolution of the story
in incomplete sentence form or phrases, award 3 marks.
If the student partially states the resolution of the story in
complete sentence form, award 2 marks.
If the student partially states the resolution of the story in
incomplete sentence form or phrases, award 1 mark.
No marks will be awarded for irrelevant content.

Moral:

If the student writes a complete relevant moral, award 2


marks.
If the student writes a partially relevant moral, award 1 mark.
If the student writes an irrelevant moral, award 0 marks.

Deduction of Marks

No mark will be deducted for up to 3 mistakes in punctuation,


grammar and spelling.
Every four mistakes in punctuation, grammar and spelling
will lead to a deduction of one mark from gained marks.
Capitalization errors will be included in the punctuation
errors. The deduction of marks will not exceed two marks.

Happy: Children feel happy to see their seniors.
Goat: Goat is a useful animal.

For every incorrect sentence= Mark (0)

Deduction of Marks:

Mechanics:

No marks will be deducted for up to three mistakes in


spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Every 4th mistake in spelling, grammar and punctuation will
lead to a deduction of one mark.
Capitalization will be included in the punctuation marks.
Deduction of marks of spelling, grammar and punctuation
will not exceed 5 marks.

 For each question:

Correct Answer in complete sentence form, award 5 marks


The partially correct answer in complete sentence form,
award 3 marks
Correct Answer only (no proper sentence), award 2 Marks
Partially correct answer only (no proper sentence), award 1
Mark.

Deduction of Marks

No deduction of marks for three pronunciation mistakes.


Deduct 1 mark for four pronunciation mistakes.
