Heliodon Test

The document contains analyses of light conditions in a building at different times of day on multiple dates. Natural light entering the building in the morning is diffused by woven rattan walls. At midday, a roof is needed to prevent direct sunlight from making the building hot. In the afternoon, the building is darker and could benefit from adding a front window. Recommendations include using a palm fiber roof, adding cross ventilation, and designating an area for direct sunlight.

21 June(09.00)

Analysis

in the morning at 09.00 it looks very good natural light entering the building. Due
to the presence of woven rattan which is round in shape on the wall, the incoming
light is split into the building so that the conditions inside the building are still
exposed to light but not direct, large light.
21 June(12.00)

Analysis

During the day at 12.00 the sun appears directly above the building, for this reason
a roof is needed that can protect the building so that light does not directly enter
and make the building hot during the day.

Recomendation

Using a roof that can hold sunlight so that it does not directly hit the inside of the
building, for example a roof made of palm fiber. Make cross ventilation so that
when the sun during the day makes the room hot, the room will stay cool because
of good air circulation.
21 June(15.00)

Analysis

In the afternoon (15.00) it appears that the building is not too exposed to sunlight
which causes the inside of the building to be darker than in the morning and
afternoon.

Recomendation

Adding an opening on the front (window) so that light can enter directly.

on one side of the wall of the building more than the other.

when the sun during the day makes the room hot, the room will stay cool because
of good air circulation. Making the area exposed to more sunlight into free space so
that no items or storage are exposed to direct sunlight.
