Summer Volunteer
I moved back down on June 6th to be a summer volunteer until my Graduate Intern (G.I.) program starts in August. I have been placed in the S.A.C. (student activities center) which is where we feed the missionaries while they are training on campus and extreme camps for the summer time. So I have been helping serve and clean for them over the summer.

The Vision
I am spending this next year at Teen Manias Honor Academy to serve the ministry at a greater capacity than I was able to in my undergraduate year. I will be in the Management Associate program. My ministry placement will be as a Floor Supervisor in the ATF CC (Acquire the Fire Call Center). My job will be to help oversee 3-5 call teams of ATF events around the country with between 2000-10000 attendants each! I am very excited and blessed to be a part of reaching the youth of this generation. This years theme for ATF is Normal is Not Enough. ATF addresses issues in our culture such as the bombardment of media, TV, video games, internet pornography, cultural relativism, complacency, cutting, suicide, drugs, alcohol and more. There are inspirational speakers at every event to proclaim freedom to the youth of our generation through Jesus Christ. Worship led by the Honor Academys own School of Worship bands. Many of which are my good friends and have even been my roommate. There are other bands scheduled at each event. You can see the roster of speakers and bands for each event at www.acquirethefire.com. Please read P.2 to understand how this internship really works. It also has details on how to donate to the ministry as well as the many different ways you can pray for and even partner with the ministry from traveling across the oceans to what you can do in your own neighborhood.

Extra Curricular
As well as doing all my work, classes, and other responsibilities of being a G.I. I will also be very involved with other areas of the ministry. I have already joined a prayer group that meets Mon.-Sat. at 6:30a.m. to pray for the ministry and the campus as well as fast together. There is also a 24/7 prayer room on campus I will be working to become a prayer leader in. I am also hoping to get adopted into a core on campus to be more involved in discipleship of some interns.

The Commitment
Outline
I. From Me: a. Serve for 1 full year i. This means I am committing to 12 months of service in the ministry and I will not under any circumstances leave before my commitment is fulfilled or I am released from it by the ministry. b. i. c. i. Follow Ministry policies This means no theft, drugs, alcohol, follow dress code and other general rules. Fund raise $5400 More accurately $450 per month. All donations go directly to Teen Mania through my TM account. I do not get to touch any money that is donated using the online method described on page 3. II. i. From Them I will be living in Quad 1 which is one of four houses located on campus just behind the dorms. a. Housing
There are many ways you can partner with me personally and with Teen Mania as a whole. The first and most important way is to add me on your prayer list. I need prayer and believe in its power. I am useless without Gods grace and more prayer will result in more grace. You can also donate to my account by going to www.honoracademy.com/donate and enter my ID number 2506247 then just follow the directions for a one time donation. You can also send checks addressed to Teen Mania Ministries to: Joseph Erwin 22392 FM 16 W Garden Valley TX, 75771 I am looking mainly for monthly donators. Since I will be needing the same amount each month it would be most helpful if you would donate less money each month rather than more money for just one time. You can sign up for automatic donation through me or through the intern relations office here, just call the general line 903-324-8000 and ask for intern relations or e-mail [email protected] You can also volunteer at your local ATF event. We always need volunteers to help make these events run smoothly. You can find out when an event will be near you and register as a volunteer at www.acquirethefire.com You can also go to www.globalexpeditions.com and sign up for a short term mission trip to Italy, Peru, Africa, Norway and many

Partnership Opportunities

b.
i.

Food
As a GI I get to choose from a couple food plans. I have chosen full food allotment which is a $151 check each month for food. All excess money not spent on food goes back into the ministry and does not count toward my fund raising goal. I will be required to provide receipts as proof that I spent the money on grocery items for the first 6 months.

c. i.

Management Associate Program All business training, GI development classes (weekly), mentorships and Internship opportunities (facilitating LTEs (Life Transforming Events),

ministry experience, symposiums, classes, guest speakers, chapels, etc.)

d. i. e. i. MA Retreat to WA-DC One week tour of DC with leadership with different activities and training. Opportunity to directly impact thousands of youth in this generation. Supervising the people responsible for promoting and registering everyone for four of our largest youth conferences. Improving the quality and efficiency of callers. As well as making some calls myself, and doing customer care cases and reporting. Directly assisting the Regional Manager of these events.

Upcoming Events
THE P.E.A.R.L.
Many of you have heard me talk about E.S.O.A.L. in the past. This year they have changed the name to P.E.A.R.L. so that the name would better reflect what the event have turned into over the years. It now stands for Physical Emotional And Relational Learning. The content of the event will remain mostly unchanged while the names and titles of almost everything will be changed. Companies will now be teams, majors will be coaches, the general will be called director etc. for clarities sake to people who have not experienced the event. In the past E.S.O.A.L. was rated the most impactful, liked, and helpful event by the interns every year since its inception. I will be assisting a team in just 10 days when it starts for the duration of the event. The event lasts from sometime Wednesday night till sometime on Sunday or Monday. It is the hardest training program in the body of Christ that we know of and will produce character in these participants lives.

Gauntlet/ Grey Block

The first 10 days of the new undergraduate class designed to inform the new interns of everything that will be required of them before they commit to the program and evaluate them for Ministry Placement is Gauntlet. Grey Block is the first 40 days for G.I.s like myself when corporate exercise is required 5 days a week and there are increased limitations to our lifestyles such as no movies, no secular music and no excess sugars.
