In present time how digital literacy has contributed to

economic and educational growth of the people?

Living in the modern era, it is essential for each individual to be

digitally literate and have proper knowledge of internet and the
gadgets which are the part of everyday life; this is called digital
literacy. It’s not just taking beautiful pictures and uploading
them on multiple social media platforms.
Understanding the technology and applying it effectively is
what digital literacy entails. The most essential tool for Living in
the modern era, it is of utmost importance for each individual
to be digitally literate and have proper knowledge of internet
and how to use these gadgets which are the part of everyday
life; this is called digital literacy.
ICTs (technology for communication and information) have
infiltrated every aspect of modern life. In this environment,
digital literacy has expanded well beyond the capability to use
computers. it now encompasses a collection of core abilities
such as using and creating digital media, processing and
retrieving information, participating in social networks for
knowledge production and sharing, and a broad variety of
professional computer skills. Because Several organisations
need digital literacy as a gate skill when they first assess a job
application. It also acts as a springboard for the development of
other essential abilities for life. “literacy is the ability to identify,
understand, interpret, create, communicate, compute and use
printed and written materials associated with varying contexts.
Literacy involves a continuum of learning in enabling individuals
to achieve their goals, to develop their knowledge and
potential, and to participate fully in their community and wider
society.” (UNESCO, 2004)

Uninterrupted Internet service is the rising power and the

world now depends upon internet should know how to access
and use it moreover avail its advantages and attain
modernization on individual level. As the world moves this
direction digital literacy will only grow more essential with
time. The most crucial role of digitalization is Communication,
where communicating your ideas and respecting others is an
aptitude to be learned.
Digital literacy is an umbrella term covering vital skill clusters
whose titles are frequently used as synonyms; nevertheless,
their content is not identical. Cross-national mobility of
students in higher education is enabled via blended learning
courses in which travelling students keep connected to their
contemporaries' learning processes at home. Another major
indication is the professional development of instructors and
trainers, which is generally done through blended or e-learning
courses in which new methodological skills are taught and then
used in the workplace. These examples demonstrate the
significance of digital literacy in achieving information society
goals Because it touches on all aspects of modern life, digital
literacy is a life skill. Digital literacy is important in seven of the
sixteen literacy metrics. The transition from the production of
products to the offering of services during the previous century
has resulted in an economy built on information and
knowledge. Computers can replace workers who do regular
cognitive and physical work, however they can also help
workers do non routine problem solving work. Work is being
restructured in modern organizations and businesses, which
entail Horizontal organizational structures, decentralised
decision making, broadly disseminated information, adaptable
scheduling, and collaboration in project teams are all examples
of this. Businesses implementing Changes in organisational
structures and company operations need the development of
modern skills, as well as a bigger role for ICT in the workplace
for communication, information sharing, and business process
simulation. Regular cognitive and manual work are declining in
the economy, whereas no routine analytic and interactive tasks
are increasing. As a result, modern employment processes
necessitate people who can respond quickly to complicated
situations, communicate effectively, handle information, work
in teams, use technology, and generate new knowledge.

the technology revolution has unbelievable production

opportunities that has practically redesigned how the entire
planet works. Now, as we face the digital economy ahead of us,
we must provide our children with the fundamental abilities
they will need to thrive in the digital age. According to study
done in US, 52% of adults are relatively hesitant when using
digital tools to access information According to a research
conducted in the United States, 52% of adults are wary about
adopting digital technologies to get information (Pew Research
Center) .  Despite the fact that technological breakthroughs
Over the past 50 years, technology has expanded into hitherto
unanticipated aspects of ordinary human existence, researchers
discovered that 16% of persons aged between 16 to 65 are not
digitally literate. (US department of education, 2018)
Businesses demand their employees to be able to live and
operate in a digital world. As a result, digital literacy is critical
while educating students for the workforce. Digital illiteracy
affects the population of France by 17%. Among the non-
internet users 50% are those who live in towns. In the digital
era digital divide and illiteracy are further deepening existing
inequalities of those who are already affected as 16% of low
income households are affected whereas only 4% of rich
households ( (break poverty foundation, n.d.) “More than 11
million people in the UK do not have basic digital skills. One out
of every 11 completely avoids the internet.” (Lloyds Bank UK,
2017)
“Digital literacy should be the fourth pillar of a child’s education
alongside reading, writing and mathematics and be resourced
and taught accordingly.” (house of lords, 2017) The digital age
has arrived to remain. Whether we expose and educate pupils
about the challenges and perils that come with living with
technology or not, they will have to face them. Hence,
obviously, it is preferable to give kids the skills they require to
be protected and prosper.

From our history we see many billionaires or the richest people

in the world who got to where they are just because of
technology and the digital literacy like:
Bill gates the owner of the largest software company Microsoft
and he once said and I’m quoting “If you get health, then you
have opportunity for literacy. Health first, then literacy. Once
you have literacy, then you have a chance to bring in the new
tools of communication. Let people reach out and have access
to the latest advances.”(bill gates)
Marc Zuckerberg who invented Facebook the most popular
social media app, now rules over the entire social media with
Instagram, snapchat. The ten most successful entrepreneurs of
the world are all linked to technology.

In other words, if we do not educate the next generation in this

subject, they will be left behind in future economic rivalry.
Whether one works in agriculture or aviation, all existing
vocations require fundamental understanding of digital skills
and computer education for our current and future civilization.
Digital innovation not only has an impact on the present job
market, but it also provides new job prospects in the
Information Technology (IT) and Business and Finance
industries, with massive economic advantages. According to the
World Economic Forum, technical advances will generate 133
million general employments by 2022, while automation is
expected to replace 75 million positions. Nevertheless,
machines are expected to create 58 million more jobs than they
displace, while machines will perform 42% of task hours.
(world economic forum, 17 Sep 2018) Nobel prize - winning
economist Robert Solow notably claimed that advances in
national economic production and higher living standards are
driven by productivity growth caused by technological
innovation. Apart from economic analysis, computer
technology is vital for our society because of its influence on
racial and gender equality.
If we look at the past 30 years most businesses didn't 't need
machine education or digital skills, but today its astonishing to
see that more than 50% of all jobs its essential to have digital
skills. India has grown to become the world’s fifth largest
economy and its economy is heavily reliant upon the services it
exports as the service sector contributes 53.89% of total India's
GDP and the IT services are 49% of the total services exported.
(Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, 2021-22)E
commerce also plays an essential function in the contemporary
age digital literacy is becoming increasingly essential in many
areas of our existence “At least 40% of all businesses will die in
the next 10 years if they don’t figure out how to change their
entire company to accommodate new technologies.” — John
Chambers, Cisco

just as we need medical services in the very same way we need

to educate our people. this as we have seen in pandemic how
essential it was to be digitally familiar.
Digital literacy could also play an important role in the uplifting
the under privileged areas and provide opportunity for them.
Government can help in this process by announcing different
schemes which could increase their income and make them
more aware of the world and how they can improve their living
and do good for world

The digital divide has led to the separation of people in this

country including ethnicity, age, race, and
sexuality. The application generates recent alignments between
persons who have internet access and those who have not.
People with limited rights tend to postpone their growth and
development. This is made
possible by offering 100 kbps to each student, Wi-Fi connected
classrooms, material links, and subsidized
information program software.
Digital literacy is essential for effective use of various digital
platforms. Literacy in social networking firms allows individuals
to keep in touch with others, provide current info, and yet buy
and sell goods and services.
Those with digital skills may also be able to avoid Image
manipulation and e-mail scams who will fool the digitally
illiterate, losing victims their riches and leaving them vulnerable
to identity theft. While digital preparedness is important to
bridging barriers for families, people and business applicants.
Digital literacy will have a significant effect on someone's next
job development.
digital literacy is the 2nd most significant thing in bridging this
digital divide, "

Saint Jack, Co-founder of Human-I-T.

" We need people who exist non presently utilizing engineering
to aid their spirits and
improve achieve their ends to do that. "
As technology progresses each year we want
more people to adjust to the changing business market. The
trend can continue as more businesses
require machine skills and the ability to adjust to emerging
technologies. By using the forward looking way
we will think on how digital literacy education can affect users.
Digital literacy has the ability to cause disruption of enterprises
in areas other than engineering. Acknowledging what can be
important for people, families and people on learning new skills
can improve their long-term business attitude and income
growth. Focusing on making digital skill
education for people can be ongoing process that will remain
for the rest of their lives. Business
accomplishments for new generations can guarantee that no
one is left behind.

The technology and internet are altering all components of our

lives. Nonetheless as technology flattens the planets and
individuals begin to trade with markets throughout the world it
creates new peaks and valleys in terms of distribution of
economy. These fluctuations are largely dictated by the local
community’s ability to acquire and handle new technology.
According to my perspective Digital literacy is not only
important for global technological rivalry, but it is also directly
related to the living conditions of future generations. I agree
with world economic forum that “in secondary schools and
universities, it will be important to teach the building blocks of
digital literacy, from basic computing concepts to how
platforms are built.” states economic prosperity will increase
through teaching and encouraging technological innovation.
'Digital literacy is about utilizing technology to transform the
way you think, not about understanding computers inside and
out.'
