ADVANCED DRILLING ACCESSORIES

The following accessories are standard equipment on Nabors rigs or may be included as an option.

IRON ROUGHNECK (OPTIONAL)

This hydraulically powered tool is capable of handling all tool
IRON ROUGHNECK
joint connections on land rigs and on most platform and
jackup rigs. It reduces crew exposure to tubulars, a leading
cause of injury.

AUTOMATED PIPE SLIPS

Increase safety on the rig floor (Reduces the potential for
injury). Can reduce the number of personnel required to pull
and set the slips. The life of the slips is extended by properly
setting the slips each time. This system is fail safe (in case of

BOP HANDLING SYSTEM (OPTIONAL)

Methods and apparatus for handling blowout preventer
stacks. In one embodiment the handling system includes a
cart, or skid, providing a base platform, a tilting frame, and a
lifting frame. The stack is attached to the lifting frame, which
is slidingly supported by the tilting frame, which pivots rela-
tive to the cart. The cart provides for positional adjustment of BOP HANDLING SYSTEM
the stack in a first horizontal direction, while positional
adjustment in a second, perpendicular horizontal direction is
provided by a lateral adjustment mechanism coupling the tilt-
ing frame and the cart. The lifting frame can be moved verti-
cally relative to the cart and also provides for rotational
adjustment of the stack about its central axis.
IRON DERRICKMAN
IRON DERRICKMAN (OPTIONAL)
The Iron Derrickman is a racking board mounted pipe han-
dling system designed to eliminate a man in the derrick for
tripping or for pad drilling operations. Designed to mount
with little or no modifications to standard double and triple
masts, the Iron Derrickman will rack double or triple stands
of: Drill Pipe, Heavyweight Pipe, Up to 7” Drill Collars

BOP TEST STUMP & SKID

BOP TEST STUMP AND SKID
This BOP transport skid will accommodate an annular, three
pie-ram preventors and a drilling spool with an integral test
stump. The skid has adjustable plates to allow for a shorter
stack and repositioning elements of the stack. The plates are
also interchangeable so one skid can be used to transport
either size stack.

PRAGMA PIPEHANDLER

THE PRAGMA PIPEHANDLER (OPTIONAL)

This radio controlled, easy to operate tool decreases manual
tubular handling, with a corresponding reduction in injuries
that normally accompanies that action. It also reduces dam-
age to tubulars and eliminates the cost of a third party lay-
down unit.

ROTATING MOUSEHOLE (OPTIONAL)

This tool allows top drive and conventional rotary drillers to
R O TAT I N G M O U S E H O L E achieve maximum efficiency. The drilling crew can quickly
and effectively make up and set back stands of drill pipe,
while simultaneously drilling ahead with the top drive. This
tool can be used as a multi-purpose device to replace the
kelly spinner, thus substantially reducing the length of the
drilling assembly.
OPTIDRILL (OPTIONAL)
This automatic driller provides a more consistent feed rate of

the bit into the formation, thus improving the drilling rate and
reducing the risk of damage to downhole equipment. Faster
rates of penetration frequently result in a 20% improvement
in the drilling performance.

RIGWATCH (OPTIONAL)
This drilling instrumentation product delivers instantaneous
information on critical well parameters to the driller and other
R I G W AT C H key personnel. It combines instrumentation on the data
acquisition display, reporting and analysis into a comprehen-
sive, easy to use Windows based system.

HYDRAULIC PIPE TUBES (OPTIONAL)

The Pipe Tub system reduces your personnel from coming
into contact with moving Tubulars. The Hydraulic Pipe Tubs
can carry both Drill Pipe and Casing. It suits variety of drill
pipe including range 2 and range 3. The hydraulic system has
MYWELLS.COM independent controls for each corner to compensate for
unleveled locations.

MYWELLS.COM (OPTIONAL)
This sophisticated internet portal allows drilling information
to be disseminated in real-time to locations worldwide, allow-
ing faster, more accurate decision making. It also archives
well information to be used in the planning of future wells.

DIRECTIONAL STEERING CONTROL SYSTEM (OPTIONAL)

This tool increases total on-bottom drilling time by 15% and
improves sliding performance. This accomplishments are the
result of tool face orientation and osolation control, which

Training Centers Worldwide A well-trained workforce is essential for companies

Comprehensive training programs result in better safety

records, lower maintenance costs and improved productivity.

That’s why Nabors International is building a global

training network. A key component of this network is the

training facility in Oman. It is designed to provide training

for electricians and mechanics, as well as hands on experi-

Rig 208, a fully functional drilling rig, is onsite at the

training center. Students can see first-hand how this rig

works and how to repair and maintain it.

A functioning Canrig top drive unit is also on site.

Technicians are instructed on its performance, what prob-

lems are most common, and how to fix those problems.

The Nabors International training network is designed

to produce and retain a skilled workforce of drilling profes-

sionals that delivers a predictable quality of performance

worldwide. It is one more manifestation of our corporate
vision, which is to be the preferred service provider in the
drilling industry and to deliver value to our customers.
