data processing) is a European
multinational software
corporation founded in 1972,
headquartered in Walldorf,
Baden- Wurttemberg, Germany
with regional offices in 180
countries.
What is it used for?

o It provides software and business solutions for companies.


o SAP does the integration of the core functions of the company.
o SAP enables companies to accelerate the data from one
functional area to another area and brings it under one umbrella.
o The data of all these branches in a company is effectively
automated and kept ready for employers, clients, and customer
usage. In due course, it leads to data flow for the company.
o SAP sells ERP( Enterprise Resource Planning) software to
companies to streamline and centralize the data.

Founders of SAP
It is founded by five IBM engineers namely Hasso Plattner, Klaus Tschira, Claus
Wellenreuther, Dietmar Hopp and Hans-Werner Hector.
What Happened before the SAP ERP emerged

o ERP integrates all the data in all the areas of a company. If there is no
ERP, then humans have to handle all the activities.
o Errors might occur, and to resolve them again, we depend on
humans. It is a time-consuming process.
o Secondly, storing the data from various departments in a company is
not an easy job. You need space.
