Thanks Andy! If there's not a better idea I would propose that we pull the funds from Solid Waste
reserves into the general fund.

Thank You

Josh:

We are placing the item on the agenda. It will read “Discussion and Consideration of Purchase and
Installation of School Zone Flasher Lights for Redbud Elementary, Douglas Rd. and Coffee Creek Rd.
(Estimated Cost of $180,000)”

If Council approves the item then staff will place it out for bid. I will do some research and locate the
source of the funds.

Thanks Steve. Andy or Mr Murdock is there time to put this on the agenda for Monday night? It's a
priority to me to have these signs lit up now rather than waiting. We can discuss the budget if needed.
It was also noticed by Rep. Stinson and he mentioned to me.

Thank You

Councilman Moore,

After we visited yesterday I checked with staff to see what the estimated costs were for flashers for this
school. As you know it fronts two section line roads so the costs are more than normal. With the
flashers, the trenched conduit, electric connections, etc….the quotes we received from contractors
ranged from $90,000 to $180,000. These quotes are several months old, so we had just normal school
zone signs installed before school started until this project could be budgeted. I would guess the costs
now would be at least $100,000 and possibly more. Once Andy tells us the money is available we can
start the process again of trying to get quotes for the work.

Thanks Steve
