Proclamation
WHEREAS, Mahoning County recognizes the legendary American rock singer Alice Cooper; and

WHEREAS, Alice Cooper’s career spans over five (5) decades, continuing to rock the music world; and

WHEREAS, Alice is considered by many music journalists and peers to be “The Godfather of Rock”; and

WHEREAS, Alice first came to the Mahoning Valley where he played at the Struthers High School Field House
on May 1, 1971; and

WHEREAS, as part of “The Most Beautiful Picnic”, the first major outdoor concert in the Youngstown, Ohio
area, held in Lake Milton on August 22, 1971, Alice performed, along with Brownsville Station, Bob Seger,
Teegarden and Vanwinkle, Chuck Berry, LAW and Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes; and

WHEREAS, during the same period Alice shared the stage with the rock band, Glass Harp, which was formed
in Youngstown, Ohio, Mahoning County, at the Fillmore in New York City on several occasions; and

WHEREAS, over the years, Alice has played at the Tomorrow Club in Downtown Youngstown, The Covelli
Center, The B&B Back Stage in Boardman, Ohio and the Youngstown Amphitheater, bringing positive publicity
and recognition to the Valley; and

WHEREAS, the County of Mahoning wishes to dedicate a day in honor of Alice Cooper.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mahoning County Board of Commissioners, hereby
proclaims April 29th, 2023 as “ALICE COOPER DAY” in Mahoning County.

It was moved by Mr. Traficanti and seconded by Mrs. Carol Rimedio-Righetti, that the foregoing Resolution be
approved this 29th day of April, 2023.

Roll call voting resulted: Mr. Ditzler: aye


Mr. Traficanti: aye
Mrs. Rimedio-Righetti: aye

WHEREUPON, the President of the Board declared the foregoing Resolution be duly adopted this 29th day of
April, 2023.
