DEBUT SCRIPT

Good afternoon everyone! May I have your attention please? We are about to begin the
program in 5 minutes so please find your seats and make yourselves comfortable as we all enjoy
the rest of the day. Thank you.

A pleasant afternoon to one and all and welcome to Kristhel Miles’ 18 th Birthday. My
name is Jerwin Modina Javier and I will be your host for today. I would like to thank everyone
for gracing this very momentous occasion because as they say, you only get to be 18 once.

Before anything else, may I ask everybody to please stand for the Lord’s Moment for our
guidance and blessings.

THE OPENING PRAYER

"GOD of all creation, worthy of our praise, we are grateful for Your presence in this
day’s celebration of life. We thank You for this opportunity in bringing us together and share a
glorious event that marks the 18th birthday of Kristhel Miles.

Oh Heavenly Father, You are the source of all our strength. May you bestow upon us
Your Divine Grace. May You bring forth success in this day’s activities and guide us as we
partake in this festive occasion.

All of us here today share the same prayer for Kristhel Miles, that she may achieve her
dreams and aspirations in life. That God will grant her the realization of her heart’s desires and
blessed her with abundance... may it be financial or spiritual.

May our Loving and Generous God, offer her the virtue of kindness, patience, honesty,
understanding, perseverance and all the goodness that may be pleasing to others and most
especially, to Your holiness.

We thank You for giving her 18 years of blissful yet challenging years. As she enters
another fruitful phase in life, guide her way leading to the righteous path and protect her against
imperfections that may hinder success and true happiness.

We praise You, Lord for surrounding her with love from family, relatives and friends.
Their presence in her life makes the person she is now. They are the wind beneath her wings.
They will always be there to support and direct her journey through life. 

Today, we ask for Your ever gracious hand to bless every gift to be offered and sanctify
every wish to be uttered.

Almighty God, fill our hearts with Your love, faithfulness and mercy as we gather in
Your Name and bless the meal that we will share in this joyful day.

 Once again, a very good afternoon to each and every one. As we all know, we are all
gathered here today in celebration of a wonderful life for a girl who is now turning into a fine
lady. All of you who are here must have witnessed her grow over the years into the wonderful
person she is now.

As a jumpstart, let us all welcome and acknowledge the key persons who took great part
in making this joyous affair possible. Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that I
introduce to you the family of our lovely debutant.

Today is a celebration of adulthood and a thanksgiving of the life God has given to our
lovely celebrant. Let us put our hands together, as we welcome the main highlight of this
celebration, and as she stepped into a higher level of life.

“As she enters a new phase in her life, she will leave the memories of her past behind but
a fresh beginning awaits her. Her journey will continue moving forward yet the lessons she
learned will guide her present and direct her future. She knows that not all good things happen as
she wishes it would, but she believes that God will take her to the world she most deserved. She
owes this eighteenth year of her existence to her family, relatives and friends who dearly care a
lot. Your presence in her life completes her as a person.”

So, join her as she bids farewell to her childhood and take her very first step to

GRAND ENTRANCE OF THE DEBUTANT…

Wow, blooming and lovely, indeed! Saan nga ba siya nagmana? Kay Mommy ba o kay
Daddy? Or baka both? Evidently, before today, Miles has had happy years in a very happy home.
The love of a family will always be God’s greatest blessing. Sabi nga nila, in life we can have
several friends, classmates, and social circles, but there is only one family who is always willing
and ready to welcome us no matter what. Ladies and gentlemen, to welcome all of us to their
lovely daughter’s 18th birthday party, here’s MOMMY Mary Ann Bacalso Mantilla.

The 18 roses signify the debutant’s coming of age. We have now come to the part of our
program that the guys have been waiting for. A chance to hold the hand of our lovely debutant
for a short dance so let us not keep them waiting. 18 roses will be handed to her by 18 dearest
men in Kristhel Miles’ life. Each bachelor after giving Miles a rose will dance with her for about
1 minute. They will dance with her, one after the other with the tune of her most favorite
romantic songs.

FATHER AND DAUGHTER DANCE

Let us now acknowledge one of the most loved and important person in Miles’ life. This
time to dance with her, let’s welcome her father, MR. ERNIE MANTILLA JR.

The father and daughter dance is probably one of the most loved traditions in any Filipino
debut celebration. This signifies the daughter’s first step to womanhood and the father’s
acceptance of this period in his daughter’s life.

SINGING OF THE TRADITIONAL BIRTHDAY SONG

Let me share another good-to-know trivia to everyone on how birthday cakes and candles
came about as a tradition during birthdays. Some believe that the tradition of birthday candles
began in Ancient Greece. Putting candles on a cake was a special way to pay tribute to the Greek
moon goddess, Artemis. They baked round cakes to symbolize the moon. Candles were added to
represent the reflected moonlight. Today’s tradition of making wishes before blowing out the
birthday candles may have started with that belief.

Enough of all those did-you-know trivia because at this part of the program, our lovely
and stunning Miles will blow the candles on her birthday cake. And to complete that customary
practice, let us all sing joyfully a song I am very sure everybody is familiar with, the happy
birthday song!

It is now time to cut the cake. As she has reached the maturity, she will now cut the cake
and give a portion to her parents as a symbol of her love and gratefulness to them.

All of you who are here tonight are closest to Miles. Sabi nga nila, friendship is a million
little things. This time, I’d like to ask her family members to give message to the debutant.
