Wet Scrubber Proposal PDF

The document proposes installing a wet scrubber system to treat flue gas emissions from an existing wood boiler at a laundry facility. A single unit wet scrubber made of steel with a double packing media system is recommended. The scrubber would absorb pollutants from the boiler flue gas and purified emissions would be released through a chimney while the scrubbing solution containing captured pollutants would be treated and discharged. Installation is estimated to take 3 months and include design, fabrication, installation, testing, training and a 12-month warranty. After-sales service is available upon request.

A) Technical Proposal

1. General information

1.1 In order to generate steam for the laundry process, an existing wood boiler is being
utilized, however, during its operation, the flue gas emitted from the wood boiler is
observed to have a dark soot appearance which indicates the presence of pollutants.
Therefore, there is a requirement for a pollution control technology to be
implemented to treat the flue gas and reduce its harmful emissions.

1.2 For budget purposes, we are proposing ONE UNIT of WET SCRUBBER for
client’s consideration.

1.3 The screening process is employed to extract any linen present in the effluent.
Furthermore, a water-cooled condenser is employed to maintain the temperature of
the effluent within the optimal range for it to function as a suitable scrubbing
solution.

1.4 The flue gas is from the boiler will directed into the wet scrubber containing a
double packing media system. The purpose of the packing media is to augment the
contact surface area between the exhaust gas and the scrubbing solution, thereby
improving the absorption of pollutants. Following the scrubbing process, the
demister unit is responsible for removing any residual liquid droplets present in the
exhaust gas.

1.5 Upon completion of the scrubbing process, the purified flue gas is released, while
the scrubbing solution, which contains the captured pollutants, is directed to a
mixing tank. The mixing tank is responsible for adjusting the pH value of the
solution to meet the required standards prior to discharge.
