ANSWER:
1. Answer the following questions below :
Explain the definition of length, weight, volume, and temperature
Explain the function of them
Give the example of the tools which used to measure length, weight, volume, and
temperature
Length definitions and functions:
1. The state, quality, or fact of being long. See Usage Note at strength.
2. The measurement of the extent of something along its greatest dimension: the
length of the boat.
3. A piece, often of a standard size, that is normally measured along its greatest
dimension: a length of cloth.
4. A measure used as a unit to estimate distances: won the race by a length.
5. Extent or distance from beginning to end: the length of a novel; the length of a
journey.
6. The amount of time between specified moments; the duration: the length of a
meeting.
7. often lengths Extent or degree to which an action or policy is carried: went to great
lengths to prove his point.
8. Linguistics
a. The duration of a vowel.
b. The duration of a syllable.
9. The vertical extent of a garment. Often used in combination: knee-length; floor-
length.
example;
height 1m 69 cm
weight definitions and functions:measurement of heaviness or mass.
example; weight : 75 kg
volume definitions and functions:
1. The amount of space occupied by a three-dimensional object or region of space.
2. A measure of the loudness or intensity of a sound.
example; volume
1liter= 1 cubic decimeter
temperature definitions and functions:.
Related to temperature: body temperature
1.
a. The degree of hotness or coldness of a body or environment.
b. A measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles in a sample of matter,
expressed in terms of units or degrees designated on a standard scale.
2.
a. The degree of heat in the body of a living organism, usually about 37.0°C (98.6°F)
in humans.
b. An abnormally high condition of body heat caused by illness; a fever.
example;
temperature= 37°

2. Answer the following questions below :
What the meaning of frequency, tendency, and probability
The difference of them
Make 3 examples of them
Quantity is a property that can exist as a multitude or magnitude. Quantities can be
compared in terms of "more", "less", or "equal", or by assigning a numerical value in
terms of a unit of measurement. Quantity is among the basic classes of things along
with quality, substance, change, and relation.
Ratio says how much of one thing there is compared to another thing.
example 3:1
Proportion says that two ratios (or fractions) are equal
example: 1/3=2/6
3. Frequency, Tendency, and probability
Frequency is how often something happens (usually during a period of time). On the
right is a heartbeat with a frequency of 78 beats per minute.
A measure of central tendency is a single value that describes the way in which a
group of data clusters around a central value. To put in other words, it is a way to
describe the center of a data set. There are three measures of central tendency: the
mean, the median, and the mode.
4. Measuring Instruments.
Length, width, depth, height, diameter, dimension, distance, speed, etc can all be
measured by means f certain instruments. For example, small distances can be
measured with a special instrument commonly called a micrometer.

. TYPES OF MEASURING INSTRUMENT
Length, width, depth, height, diameter; dimension, distance, speed, etc. can all be measured
by means of certain instrument. For example, small distances can be measured with a special
instrument commonly called a micrometer, Whereas dimensions of small metal objects are
generally measured by means of calipers. Below are types of measuring instruments
commonly used in various workshops. Identify the name of each instrument.
Micrometer: is an instrument which is used to measure small distances with
precision. Of course we can also define it as an instrument for measuring or which
measures - small distances with precision.
Calipers
Calipers are instruments which are used for measuring the dimensions of small objects
Ampere meter : measure units of electric current
Speed meter : measure speed of moving/running objects
Depth gauge : measure depths
