Interpersonal Skills Role-Play Guide

The document describes an activity where students were asked to imagine themselves in scenarios dealing with interpersonal skills. One scenario involved a student who was worried about being absent from class and needing to explain their absences to their instructor, but was afraid of being yelled at. The student would approach their classmate, understand their fears, and offer to go with them or get them an ice cream to help boost their confidence before speaking to the instructor. Through the role play, students learned about evaluating different situations, effective communication, and demonstrating skills like empathy and decision making.

What will I do?

I can also feel his/her fear since I am also a student. Being one, I will approach
her/him, talk what his/her being afraid of, and lastly, I am willing to help her/him. I can
suggest to her/him if he/she is too afraid then we can go together, I can go with
her/him to be able to ease the fear he/she been feeling. Either way, I can ask a brief
moment and give her/him an ice cream for her/him be at ease and give an advice
or words of wisdom for him/her to strengthen its confidence and give them a “lakas
ng loob” and will never leave up until he/she is done visiting the office.

It felt great actually, it feels like I am really in the situation and deeply thinking
how can I help with my co-student.
2. What steps did you go through before you made your decision?

First, I really put myself in his/her situation given that I am also a student. By being
able to understand his/her feelings, I know at the moment what should I do, or what
shall I going to advice if ever. I must first know what she/he’s been feeling for me to help
efficiently and effectively.
3. After the role playing, what insights have you gained?

I gained learning especially in evaluating how I will be able to react in such

situation, I do some reflecting and imagining. Being the means, I also gain on how shall I
take steps, that we should be rational enough and communication is a key for us to
help effectively.
