DONATO BRAMANTE

He is the one who created the initial plan at the request of the Pope and the one who modeled the Basilica after the
Roman Pantheon.

GIULIANO DA SANGALLO

He was an Italian sculptor, architect, and military engineer active during the Italian Renaissance. His final work was
to assist in designing and constructing the new St. Peter's Basilica.

RAPHAEL

After the death of Giuliano da Sangallo and Fra Giocondo in 1515, he added modifications to the design. He was
appointed architect director of the St. Peter's workshop in 1514.
MICHELANGELO DI LODOVICO BUONARROTI SIMONI

He received the greatest and final commission of his life. Pope Paul III appointed him as the chief architect of the
sprawling St. Peter's Basilica, the opulent centerpiece of the Vatican where popes are laid to rest and home of the
tallest dome in the world.

CARLO MADERNO

He is the greatest Italian architect who designed the atrium of St. Peter's Basilica.

GIAN LORENZO BERNINI

Who finally took over and created many iconic elements inside the Basilica, including St. Peter's Chair and the
Baldacchino.
ST. PETER’S BASILICA

It is one of the largest buildings in the world and is the largest of the papal basilicas, and it has a building that
measures 218 meters in length and 136 meters in height, including its dome.

SISTINE CHAPEL

It is a Chapel with a rectangular brick building with six arched windows on each of the two main (or side) walls and
a barrel-vaulted ceiling. It's an extensive collection of Renaissance art painted by some of the world's most famous
artists.

It is a private urban garden and a park covering more than half of the country located west of the territory
and owned by the Pope.

It is a monumental tomb built-in AD 139 by Emperor Hadrian for the burial of himself, future successors, and
relatives. With many later expansions, the Mausoleum was converted into a fortress, a prison, a palace, and most
recently, a museum.

VATICAN NECROPOLIS

It is located beneath Vatican City, 5 and 12 meters below St. Peter's Basilica. Formerly a burial cemetery adjacent to
the Circus of Caligula on the southern slope of Vatican Hill.
APOSTOLIC PALACE

It is the pope's official residence, the head of the Catholic Church, located in Vatican City. It is also known as the
Papal Palace.

RAPHAEL ROOMS

A room comprised four separate rooms in the Palace of the Vatican and formed a part of the apartment of Pope
Julius II (pontiff from 1503-1513).
