LANDFORMS AND
RESOURCES IN THE
PHILIPPINES
LANDFORMS
Naturall formation of rocks, soil and even
dirt found on earth. They come in different
shapes and size.
These place are also the tourist spot that
foreigners and even filipino visit during
summer.
MOUNTAIN
A place that is much higher
than the land around it. Some
mountains very steep and
around to climb.
MOUNT APO
VOLCANO
A landform that has a small
opening on top where hot
rocks or lava/ come out when it
erupts.
MAYON VOLCANO
PLAIN
A low, flat and wide landform.
It has many towns and cities
and it is where most people
build their houses.
RICE GRANARY OF THE PHILIPPINES
HILL
A lower and smaller than a
mountain. It is easier to climb
that a mountain.
CHOCOLATE HILLS
PLATEAU
A flat stretch of land on top of
a mountain.

VALLEY
A long depression on a land,
between two higher parts
which might be a hills or a
mountain.

A form of land that sticks out
some of its part in to a body of
water and hence getting
surrounded by water on three
side. Almost island called
biland or byland.

Water Forms
A waterform, or anyong tubig,
most often refers to oceans,
seas, and lakes, and even
includes ponds, streams,
springs, and waterfalls.
OCEANS
This is the widest and largest
body of water in the world.
Huge sea vessels can travel
here.
PACIFIC OCEAN
SEA
The sea is salty. A lot of aquatic
resources live in the sea.
BOHOL SEA
LAKE
A lake is a body of water
surrounded by land.
LAKE SEBU
CHANNEL
A wide body of water found
between islands. This has to be
crossed into order to move from
one island to another.
BABUYAN CHANNEL
WATERFALL
A cascade of water falling from
a height, formed when a river
or stream flows over a precipice
or steep incline.
MARIA CRISTINA FALLS

BAY
This serves as a harbor for sea-
faring vessels in the
Philippines. Passengers ride
here, and goods can be loaded
for transport to different places.
MANILA BAY
STRAIT
This is a narrow body of water,
which separates two large land
forms.
TAÑON STRAIT
GULF
This is a part of the ocean, and
can be found at the opening of
the sea. This can be used as a
port for sea vessels.
LINGAYEN GULF
RIVER
A wide body of water that flows
towards the sea. It has fresh
water, so it can be drink. Also,
other rivers has fresh-water
fishes.
CAGAYAN RIVER
STREAM
A stream is a body of water that
flows on Earth's surface. The
word stream is often used
interchangeably with river,
though rivers usually describe
larger streams.
MT. MAKILING STREAM
CREEK
This is shallow and smaller
than a stream. The water is
used by farmers to irrigate their
rice fields.

TAYTAY CREEK
SPRING
This is the smallest body of
water. The water come from
beneath the ground, and can be
either hot or cold. Hot springs
can be found in areas near
volcano.
