Hari Raya Celebration

Last week, we celebrated the first Hari Raya Aidil Fitri. On the
first day, my parents, my siblings and went to Kampong Pandan Mosque
at 7.00 am in the morning and performed Solat Aidil Fitri.

After Solat Aidil Fitri, we went back home. I changed and wore
my favourite purple ‘baju cara melayu’. My mother cooked ‘soto
daging’ to bring to my uncle’s house. Then, my family took me to my
Uncle Yusof’s house. All my relatives and their neighbors were there
too. I saw my aunt served fizzy drinks, some delicious cookies, and
biscuits. There was lots of yummy food on the tables. My favourite ‘beef
rendang’ was there too. Before eating, my father recited a ‘doa selamat’
thanking God for giving us good health and good fortune.

To my surprise, my cousin from Temburong was also there. I have

not seen Fahmi for almost a year. We talked about school, sport, and
games. We shook hands with each other and wished ‘Selamat Hari
Raya’ and apologized for forgiveness. My uncle then gave green packets
to all people who came.

In the afternoon, we held a family gathering and we invited our

neighbours as well to come to our home. Everybody was happy as it was
a time for us to be together and be thankful to God.
