Dear Principal,

As you ate the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) is committed to ensure the
^w^re,
provision of quality education and taining to medical students of Pakistan in line with intemational
standards. In this regard, PM&DC is in ptocess of accreditation with World Federation for Medical
Education CX/FME) and has escalated the necessary steps in this regard.

One of the important measures that will contdbute significandy to achieving this goal is the
establishment of a Medical Education Department which include the Research Cell and Quality
Assurance Department in all the medical & dental colleges. This departrnent will be responsible for
overseeing the curriculum, instructional design, assessment pracdces and research trends in the

tespecdve colleges, and ensure that they are in line with best intemational practices.

Thetefore, we are wdting to you to ensufe the establishment of the depattrnent in your college as soon
as possible, if not established abeady.It is important that this department be staffed with qualified and

experienced faculty and teams who are able to develop and implement effective teaching, assessment

and research strategies and bdng positive changes through relevant departrnents. $7e believe that the

establishment of the depattrnent will gteady enhance the quality of medical educadon in Pakistan and

further meet the accreditation standards of international agencies.

Please provide us with an org rtogrum for the deparnnent duly signed by the Principal Medical
Education Departrnent including Research Cell, and Quality Assurance Departrnent as soon as

possible enabling us to monitor progress.

enclosed herewith, for your guidance. You ate tequested to submit a report of the same as soon as
