GUIDELINES FOR STA104/QMT 181 - GROUP PROJECT

INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS:

1. Set up a group that consists of maximum FOUR (4) members from your class and name your
group.
2. Choose any issue (inside/outside UiTM) to be your research topic. (Example: Handphone
usage among UiTM students, Mobile phone game addiction among UiTM students, Reading
habit among UiTM students.)
3. Determine your research objectives and list them all down. (Minimum 4 objectives).
4. Find data. (If you choose to use secondary data)
5. Design a questionnaire. (If you choose to use primary data)
• Your questionnaire must be simple yet useful for your study.
• It must contain enough information for you to do a very good analysis.
• The questions in the questionnaire must correspond with your research objectives.
(If 4 objectives = 4 questions).
• Make sure you have both qualitative and quantitative variables in your study.
6. Select a sample for your study by using an appropriate sampling technique. Distribute the
questionnaire to your selected sample.
7. Do a statistical analysis on the questionnaire that you collected.
8. Write a project report.
9. Prepare for a presentation.

REPORT GUIDELINES:

Your report should include:


1. Contents
2. Acknowledgement
3. An interesting group photo with names of all members
4. Introduction
- Explain about your topic.
- Explain why you choose the topic.
- State the objectives of your study.
5. Sampling technique
- Describe sampling technique that you use in your study. Explain the technique
correctly. Draw a picture if necessary to make your explanation more interesting.
6. Data collection method (primary data)
- Explain about your data collection method.
7. Data analysis and results
