1- INTRODUCTION YOUR SELF:

My name is Katherine Yisneiri Galvez, I am a clinical psychology student,


I am in my third semester and my goal is to become one of the best
psychologists in my country, I really like romantic music and in my
opinion I think I will get very far by putting everything my effort to
achieve it.

2- WHAT IS THE PSYCHOLOGY?

Ancient Psychology:

Ancient Age: beginning of the history of Psychology

During the Ancient Age it was believed that mental disorders were the
consequence of possession by spirits and demons, and the treatments
consisted of spells and enchantments to which curative effects were
attributed.

Modern Psychology:

Modern psychology has been in charge of compiling facts about human


behavior and experience, organizing them in a systematic way and
developing theories for their understanding. These studies make it possible
to explain the behavior of human beings and even predict their future
actions.
3- BRANCHES OF PSYCHOLOGY.

Branches of psychology:

 Clinical psychology
 Marketing and consumer psychology
 Psychology of education and development
 Occupational psychology
 Social psychology

A little definition of each branch of psychology:

Clinical psychology

This is one of the branches that deals with identifying mental health
disorders, such as depression, so that they can be treated and solved.

Clinical psychology deals with studying and investigating the origins of


different adaptive problems and mental disorders, as well as the best
components to treat them.

Marketing and consumer psychology

One of the benefits of studying Psychology is that it will allow you to


function in one of the most prominent and outstanding worlds today, that of
business, specifically marketing.

Educational and developmental psychology

This branch of Psychology focuses on the learning processes of human


beings. This field studies the cognitive development of children and the
way they relate to the outside world. It also evaluates the way in which
workers acquire knowledge through practice and repetition.
Occupational psychology

An occupational psychologist fulfills the important function of


analyzing the organizational climate of companies and the way in which
multiple factors in the work environment impact the mental processes and
behavior of its employees.

All this with the aim of getting to know the employees in depth and
knowing what things cause them concern, annoyance or discomfort when
making decisions focused on achieving improvements and motivating
them.

Social psychology

This branch studies society as a whole, the way in which environments


influence the mental processes of each individual, helps us understand
ourselves as communities and social groups.
