ABOUT TEDx
TEDx is primarily aimed at taking forward the mission of TED
(Technology, Entertainment, Design), which is "ideas worth spreading."
At TEDx events, a screening of TEDTalks videos - or a combination of
live presenters and TEDTalks videos - inspires ideas and connections.
TEDx is composed of independent organisers who come together, on a
community-by-community basis, to create an event that sparks
conversations. Even though there is a unique take on each event, there
are certain features that all TEDx events have in common.
1 .TED's celebrated format:
A suite of short, carefully prepared talks, demonstrations, and
performances (live or just TEDTalks videos from TED.com) on a wide
range of subjects to foster learning, inspiration and wonder - and to
provoke conversations that matter.
2 .TED Talks videos:
A minimum of two pre-recorded talks from the acclaimed TEDTalks
video series (available for free on TED.com)
3 .Bias-free programming:
Lack of any commercial, religious or political agenda.

Sri Venkateswara College, popularly known as
"VENKY", a premier part of Delhi University was founded in
1961 under the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams trusts.
This year marks the 60th year for this prestigious
institution, which has proudly stood tall through the last
many decades. Sri Venkateshwara college has over the
years acquired a unique place in the Indian education
map. Currently, SVC has the 11th NIRF rank. The college is
widely known for its cultural events and performances.

PAST THEMES
TEDxSVC has previously organised events around the themes of
Polymorphic Reality, Paradox of Modernity and Wheel of Chaos.
Polymorphic Reality: Seeing things from one another's perspective
helps one understand things in a different light and opens up the path
to a whole lot more understanding and tolerance. It's all about the way
we perceive things; that's what makes a difference in one's own and
everyone else's life. Based on this theme, TedxSVC Talk 3.0 was
conducted in the year 2022.
Paradox of Modernity: Modernity's paradox lies in the fact that it
contains elements that are frequently at odds with one another and
exist at the same time. It is the constant struggle between the desire
for change and the desire for stability. To be modern is “to be both
revolutionary and conservative: alive to new possibilities for
experience and adventure, [yet] frightened by the nihilistic depths to
which so many modern adventures lead.”
Wheel of Chaos: Chaos, in today’s world, is often frowned upon.
Humans fail to comprehend that there are points in chaos that are
completely in order and perfectly balanced, which leads to the
contestation of randomness. Whereas society can often advance
significantly if it accepts this entropic deviance. Hence, this theme
signifies a wheel that is put into motion by the actions of individuals
amidst the chaos created by free-spirited people who have no set
journey or path but a strong will and commitment to reach the
destination.
