BaseLink Quickstart
BaseLink Quickstart
This manual aims to get you up and running with your BaseLink in a few simple steps, for more in-depth manuals
we refer you to our support portal. This manual assumes you have a Playoutserver set up and ready.
1. LINKMATRIX
Every BaseLink comes with a Linkmatrix account which enables you to manage all your WMTs and Playouts as well
as stream your content to social media platforms such as Facebook and Youtube. On the left-hand side you can see
all your WMTs (Clients) and all your Playouts (Decoders) are located on the right-hand side. To connect a client to a
decoder simply drag and drop it on top of a decoder.
2. CONNECTIONS
It is recommended to insert the SIM cards while the unit is turned off. Once the SIMs are inserted the APN settings
need to be checked in the Connections menu. APN settings can usually be found on the provider’s website. Click
on any of the connections to get to its settings. Once a connection is valid it will turn green.
3. ENABLE LINKMATRIX
Next, we enable Linkmatrix on the unit. Without Linkmatrix, every unit needs to be manually connected to a
Playout. For more information, we refer you to the WMT manual.
To enable Linkmatrix, click on the Gear icon and select ‘IP Config’;
Select ‘MVP Linkmatrix’ from the dropdown menu, you should now see the unit appearing within Linkmatrix.
4. INPUT PREVIEW
After connecting your camera through either SDI or HDMI, preview the video to make sure the BaseLink is getting a
valid input signal. Most models feature a video preview window on the home screen but you can also get to it
using the Input icon and selecting ‘Start Preview’
5. CONFIGURE LINKMATRIX
Next, we login to Linkmatrix to link the BaseLink to a (Playout) server. Every WMT needs a server with a Public IP
address it can stream to. The server de-bonds the signal and creates a continuous video stream that can be sent on
to decoders or Social Media.
In Linkmatrix, go to the Settings tab and select the BaseLink under the ‘Client’ list. Next, choose a server and a
clientnumber. Below you can also check if an update is available for your unit;
