A Detailed Lesson Plan in Grade 9 Mathematic2

The lesson plan aims to teach students how to calculate the six trigonometric ratios, specifically the secant, cosecant and cotangent. It includes objectives, subject matter on the secondary ratios, materials needed and an instructional procedure. The procedure involves preparatory activities, motivation, lesson discussion with examples, and evaluation through sample problems to find all six ratios. Students are assigned practice problems to solidify their understanding of calculating trigonometric ratios.

A detailed lesson plan in Grade 9 Mathematics

DATE:

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

a. define three of the trigonometric ratios;

b. identify the secant, cosecant and cotangent; and
c. use the remaining three of the six trigonometric ratios to draw conclusions about real-world
systems.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: secondary ratio of the six trigonometric ratios

a. solve for the secant

b. solve for the cosecant
c. solve for the cotangent

Materials: Laptop, Projector, Power Point Presentation, Cartolina, pentel pen, chalk and board.

III. Instructional Procedure

Teacher’s Activity Student’s activity

A. Preparatory activities
1. Routinely activity
a. Prayer and greetings
b. Checking of attendance
Ask one student to lead the prayer.

B. Motivation
 How many triangles are there?

C. Lesson Proper/ Discussion

To get the secant, cosecant and cotangent of
the triangle, use the following equation.
hypotenuse

“That’s correct, how do we find the secant,

Very good class. (Raising their hands)

“Sir, our topic for today is all about finding the
secant, cosecant and cotangent of a triangle”

Simply getting the reciprocal of sine cosine and

tangent of a triangle ratio

D. Evaluation

Answer the following:

Find the six trigonometric ratios of the following.

1.)

2.anna is standing 6ft to the ground. Her shadow

from the ground is 8 ft. what are the six
trigonometric ratios if the hypotenuse is 10ft from
Anna’s head to the end of her shadow?

E. Assignment
Find the six trigonometric ratio of angle P and angle Q.
