Timeline of Steve Jobs Life and Career

Steve Jobs co-founded Apple Computer in 1976 and helped develop the Macintosh computer which went on sale in 1984. However, he resigned from Apple in 1985 and went on to buy Pixar. He returned to Apple in 1996 and oversaw the development of successful products like the iPod, iPhone and iPad. After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2004 and undergoing surgery, he gave a famous commencement speech at Stanford in 2005. Jobs stepped down as Apple's CEO in August 2011 due to his declining health from cancer and passed away in October 2011.
