The Digital Builder Blueprint:

How to build leverage online by: Jay Yang

“I want to make $1M/yr online!” you say.

“Productize yourself!” everyone responds.

“But how?” you wonder.

“I’m a complete noob, why would anyone listen to me — let alone

pay me tons of $$$?!?!”

Listen, I was once like you, my young grasshopper.

Anxious, confused, and maybe even a lil scared.

But don’t worry, because today I’ll be revealing my 7-step playbook

to building income online (without needing prior experience).

The 7 steps go something like this:

1) Build Mindset
2) Build Yourself
3) Build Unique Knowledge
4) Build Proof
5) Build Demand
6) Build Distribution
7) Build Products
“But Jay, that’s a lot of building!”

Yes. That’s the point.

From now on, I want you to consider yourself a builder.

Why?

Because you’re consciously building the life you want to live.

YOU are in control now.

Here we go…

Step 1: Build Mindset

The first step is to realize that you can build your desired lifestyle.

That wealth isn’t reserved for the smart, the rich, or the pretty.

Ethical wealth creation is completely possible for you.

The greatest thing about this career path is that it’s permissionless.

Meaning: You don’t need to rely on anyone else. It’s 100% on YOU.

With that said, let’s begin.

Step 2: Build Yourself

It’s no secret… the people who get paid the most - are the most
valuable to the world.

Elon Musk → Helping save humanity

Jeff Bezos → Making magic wishes a reality

Mark Zuckerberg → Connecting the entire world

If you want to build wealth, you must first become valuable.

How?

By building valuable skills.

My suggestion?

Start with the foundational skills.

These skills will amplify whatever else you do.

If you master them, you’ll never struggle to find valuable work.

● Writing
● Thinking
● Learning
● Speaking
● Selling

The more of these skills you can “stack”, the more valuable you’ll
become.
Obviously, there’s nuance to each foundational skill.

They can be split up into many subcategories.

But a common theme between most of them…

Clear communication.

As Steve Jobs once said, “The most powerful person in the world is
the storyteller.”

And that’s so true.

Whoever controls the narrative controls the outcome.

Whoever controls the story holds the power.

Okay, now that you understand the fundamentals of becoming a

valuable person…

Let’s move on to how you practice these skills:

Step 3: Build Unique Knowledge

Naval Ravikant has this idea of unique knowledge.

Unique knowledge is something you can’t be trained for.

Because if someone can train you, you can be replaced.

Unique knowledge is built through trial and error.

Through experience.

It’s the result of “throwing sh*t at the wall” and figuring it out
yourself.

I can’t teach you how to learn these foundational skills.

Because the process of you going down your own rabbit holes is how
you build unique knowledge.

Does that make sense?

You can’t outsource your learning.

Another way to build unique knowledge is through “Project-Based

Learning”.

Basically, it means, building out a project (more building lol), and

then learning to fill in the gaps.

Example:

Building your own personal website.

Then learning web design and coding to manifest it into existence.

You’ll notice a common theme throughout this guide…

It’s all about solving problems.

Solve your own problems = Self-Improvement

Turn your solutions into products = Entrepreneurship

Oops… I’m getting ahead of myself here (Sorry, I can’t help myself
sometimes).

Let’s move on to the next step.

Step 4: Build Proof

It’s one thing to build your own projects.

It’s another thing to help others with theirs.

As you build unique knowledge, you’ll begin to create “shortcuts”

that help you build your projects faster.

This is good.

Document your shortcuts for your future system.

As you create a more well-oiled system - the next step is to prove it.

Test it out on others and see if you get the same results with them.

● Freelance for a company

● Coach someone 1-2 steps behind you
● Apprentice under someone you admire
The key is to experiment.

System didn’t work? Iterate and try again.

System did work? Sweet. Collect a testimonial.

Notice how this is similar to the scientific method?

The only way to learn is through experience.

Repeat this process until you have:

1) A proven system/process
2) A portfolio of positive reviews

Then we move on to the next step…

Step 5: Build Demand

If you want freedom, you must create demand.

To create demand, you must prove your competence.

You do this by creating content.

Content allows you to:

1) Drive up the perceived value of your brand

2) Attract and convert customers & clients automatically
Think of content as tiny magnets that get sent out to the world and
work for you 24/7 - attracting your “tribe”.

Create content that points out the problem your “tribe” is facing.

Then create the product that provides the solution.

Focus on the results you’ve helped others get.

This will make them desire the outcome you’re selling.

Do you see how this is all coming together?

You first, master the ability to create a desired result.

Then, you prove you can achieve the desired result.

Then you tell everyone you can do it.

Master. Prove. Tell.

Step 6: Build Distribution

As you create content online - people will begin to take notice.

Eventually, your reputation will proceed you.

Opportunities will come to YOU instead of you chasing them.

Now the goal is to build symbiotic relationships.

Organically build your network until you have a diverse portfolio of
friends.

It sounds weird saying it like that, but basically, the cliche saying is
true: “Your network is your net worth.”

Now here’s the crazy part:

Say you have an audience of 100,000 followers.

You make friends with 5-10 other online builders.

Each with their own 100k.

Now when you launch your product, you have potentially 500k-1M
eyeballs on your offer (not including the people who’ll see your
offer on the timeline).

In an age of infinite leverage, distribution is king.

Alright, that was a lot.

You still with me?

Hang in there, we’re on the very last step:

Step 7: Build Products

Design your product around a result you’ve delivered repeatedly.

(This is why step 4 was so important)

But also realize that everything on the internet has already been
shared before.

People don’t buy your product, they buy an extension of you.

(Which is why step 5 was so crucial)

At the core, a product simply delivers a transformation in a

shorter amount of time.

A product is a digital asset that you create once but use multiple
times.

You detach your initial time investment from your potential income.

Like this guide, for example.

I’m writing this once. But thousands of people are gonna read it.

When you build your product, follow The 3P’s:

1) Philosophical: Why does this product exist? Why is it

important?
2) Practical: Actionable steps people can take to achieve the
desired outcome.
3) Psychological: Help them overcome the mental barriers in the
implementation.

And remember… brevity is your friend.

Taking your customer from point A → Point B in 1-2 hours is wayyy
better than in 8-10 hours.

*takes a deep breath*

Wow. That was a lot. And I get that some of these concepts are not
easy to wrap your head around.

Lastly, I’d like to leave you with this quote:

“For the first time, those who can educate and motivate themselves
will be almost entirely free to invent their own work and realize
the full benefits of their own productivity.” – Sovereign Individual

This process is not for everyone.

It takes work and effort.

You’re constantly learning, building, and evolving.

And sometimes it gets tough.

But trust me - it’s SO worth it.

Stick with it.

Keep going.

And I’ll catch ya on the other side.
