Thermodynamics Syllabus

This document outlines the key concepts and principles covered in 5 units of a thermodynamics course. Unit I introduces fundamental concepts like system, control volume, state, property, process, equilibrium, and the first law of thermodynamics. Unit II covers the second law of thermodynamics, including entropy, Carnot cycle, and the third law of thermodynamics. Unit III discusses availability, irreversibility, and thermodynamic relations. Unit IV focuses on properties of steam and the Rankine cycle. Unit V examines refrigeration cycles like vapor compression and vapor absorption cycles.
