ABSTRACT:

Watching TV shows based on legal and criminal outlook always makes the watchers inquisitive
to know why the Justice system is blind and always based on evidence and witness, or simply
makes us feel that “Is the justice system really blindfolded”? Does the judicial system treats
everybody in the same unbiased manner and all are equal in the eyes of law? Acumen into Social
psychology has relevancy for the intellectual capacity of how the law works in courtrooms, how
people perceive the law as the legal system, and the way officials function in several legal
contexts such as in areas of legal decision making and law enforcement. Furthermore, how
Social psychology deals with the concept of mental health and how law construes this mental
tool to figure out the possible and relevant clarifications to the problems before the bench. In this
research paper, we will get an insight of various segments of psychology and the legal system
defining their relationship and application of social psychology to the law enforcing system. We
will get an in-depth analysis of what mental health is and how this simple mentality of an
individual helps a courtroom to solve plenty of cases. This research paper will include the
different psychologies which are related to the justice system that are criminal and forensic
psychologies and will give a vibrant view of how these both are very much different from the
criminal TV shows. We will clear your doubt regarding the delusions about the day-to-day work
of forensic psychologists and criminal psychologists, both of whom are important in law
implementation. The current status and the future guidelines to be followed for the paramount
justice granting system will be the main focus to get an insight for. Overall, we will be dealing
with a 360-degree view of psychology and law with its basis on mental health and behavior.

RESEARCH QUESTIONS:
1) Does Forensic Psychiatry plays any role in solving court cases?
2) Does patriarchal mindset affect the judgments of Indian courts?
3) Does exposure to riots at an early age of 0-6 effects the bail decisions of lower courts?
4) Religion, Gender and District courts.
5) Do Indian laws show significant amount of bias?
6) How much can a government leadership and its ideology impact justice system.
7) Police and its prejudices.
8) Influence of prejudices and stereotypes on the Indian Legal system.

INTRODUCTION TO LAW AND PSYCHOLOGY:

Law:- The term Law in layman's terms may be defined as the rules and regulations to regulate
the conduct of human beings in society. It denotes the varying kind of principles that maintains
law and order in society and which is necessary for human survival without which it would lead
to a state of total anarchy. It functions as a model of behavior for citizens. The purpose of the law
is to provide guidelines and provide order to various common aspects that are related to research
and thus ensure that citizens behave properly and maintain a sense of order and cleanliness. Law
in a broad sense includes many statutes, acts, ordinances, Judgments, Decrees, Rules of Courts,
Injunctions, Jurisprudence, Legal Theory, etc. Many jurists have advanced definitions of the law
taking into account different aspects. Some of the most important ones are:
