LEARNING ACTIVITY
NAME: CRYSTAL ANN B. LARESMA COURSE: BEED 1B
INSTRUCTION: Answer the following questions;
1. Discuss the meaning and objectives of Environmental Education. Provide a list of
programs that can help facilitate environmental awareness and protection.

Environmental Education (EE) is a type of learning that focuses on increasing

environmental awareness, knowledge, and skills, as well as fostering appreciation
and respect for the environment. The primary objective of EE is to help people
understand the natural environment and develop the skills and motivation to
protect it. EE is also used as a tool to inform people about the causes and
consequences of environmental problems and how to find solutions to them.
Programs that can help facilitate environmental awareness and protection
include:

• Community or school-based programs that provide educational materials to

students and teach them about environmental conservation.

• Public education campaigns that raise awareness about environmental issues

and promote sustainable practices.

• Government-funded initiatives that support environmental research and

conservation efforts.

• Non-profit organizations that work to protect the environment and promote

environmental education.

• Collaborative initiatives between local businesses, government, and community

groups to reduce environmental impacts.

• Online resources that provide information about environmental topics and

promote sustainable practices.

2. Identify the characteristics of a community that is EARTH FRIENDLY. Take a

picture and paste here. Provide discussions in your presentation.

Characteristics of an Earth Friendly Community

1. Sustainable Practices: An Earth friendly community will focus on sustainable
practices as much as possible. This includes using renewable energy sources,
such as solar power, and reducing the amount of waste produced by its citizens.
2. Green Spaces: An Earth friendly community will also have areas of green space
that are accessible to the public. These green spaces can be used for recreation,
gardening, or natural habitats.
3. Education: An Earth friendly community will prioritize educating its citizens on
environmental issues and the importance of sustainability. This can be done
through public programs, such as classes or seminars, or through media
campaigns.
4. Leadership: An Earth friendly community will have leadership that is committed
to making sure that the community is taking steps towards sustainability. This
includes making sure that businesses are operating in a sustainable manner and
that citizens are aware of their environmental impact.

3. Identify sustainable activity in your community that help develop awareness on

Environmental Protection. Make further discussion of the activity.
One sustainable activity in my community that helps develop awareness on
Environmental Protection is a community garden. The community garden is a great way
to connect people to the environment and to teach them how to responsibly use and care
for the land. It also provides a great opportunity to learn about the importance of
composting and recycling, and how to reduce waste. The garden is a great way to bring
people together in an effort to protect and improve the environment, while also providing
fresh, healthy food to the community. Community members can also share gardening
tips, recipes, and other helpful information with each other. This activity helps to create a
sense of community and promotes environmental protection as a shared goal.
4. Plant a Tree or make a home garden, then take a picture paste here. Discuss in
details how your activity helps save the mother earth? Provide another sheets of
paper.

Planting a tree or making a home garden is a great way to help save the mother
earth. It helps reduce carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere, improve air quality,
and reduce soil erosion. Additionally, trees and plants absorb and store carbon
dioxide, which is a major contributor to global warming. By planting trees, we
create a natural barrier against the effects of climate change, helping to maintain a
healthier environment for ourselves and future generations. Planting a tree also
provides habitat for wildlife, providing a food source and a place to live. By
increasing the number of trees and plants in our environment, we can help to
preserve our planet and ensure a better future for all.

INSTRUCTIONS: Answer the following questions;

1. Discuss further the meaning of “Drug Education”. Provide details in the definition.

Drug Education is the process of educating people about the risks and dangers
associated with the use of drugs. It includes information about the physical, mental, and
social effects of drug use and abuse, as well as information about the legal and
economic consequences of using drugs. Drug education also seeks to provide
individuals with the skills and resources they need to avoid drug use and to make
healthy decisions about their lives. It may include education about different types of
drugs, their effects on the body, and how to recognize and respond to potential drug-
related problems. Drug education can be provided in a variety of settings, such as
schools, community centers, prisons, and outpatient treatment centers.

2. In your own level of understanding, discuss when drugs becomes harmful and
can ruins one’s life. Provide situations for your justifications.

Drugs become harmful when taken in excess, or when taken for recreational purposes,
as opposed to for medical needs. Some people may become addicted to certain drugs,
and this can ruin their lives. Drug addiction can lead to physical, mental, and financial
problems, and can destroy relationships. A situation that can demonstrate how drugs
can ruin one’s life is when a person becomes addicted to a drug, such as heroin or
cocaine. This addiction can cause them to become dependent on the drug in order to
function. They may become financially dependent on it, as they will need to purchase the
drug in order to continue using it. They will also experience physical and mental health
issues such as depression, anxiety, and other mental health problems. Furthermore,
they may become isolated from their friends and family, and their relationships may
suffer, as they are unable to focus on anything but their addiction. Drugs can also ruin a
person’s life if they are used to excess, as this can lead to physical and mental health
problems. For example, if a person is abusing alcohol, they may suffer from liver
damage, increased risk of heart disease, and other physical health problems. They may
also suffer from mental health issues such as depression, anxiety.

3. Conduct a drug campaign activity in your area. Enumerate the manner on how
you conduct you campaign. Provide pictures as evidence of your plan activity.

a. Prepare promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, and posters about the
harmful effects of drugs.

b. Distribute these materials in public places such as schools, parks, and malls.
c. Organize a rally or a seminar on the effects of drug abuse. Invite speakers to talk
about the dangers of drugs and how to avoid them.

d. Create an online campaign to spread awareness about the dangers of drugs. Use
social media to spread the message.

e. Set up a booth in a public place to inform people about the dangers of drugs. Have
volunteers on hand to answer questions and provide more information. f. Partner
with other organizations to organize a drug prevention event. Invite local celebrities
or sports personalities to talk about the dangers of drugs. g. Create an anti-drug
campaign in your area. Have volunteers put up posters, banners, or flyers in public
places. h. Conduct an interactive workshop on drug prevention. Invite school-aged
children and teach them about the dangers of drugs. i. Organize a drug-free concert
or event in your area. Invite local artists and musicians to perform and spread the
message.

4. Make an analysis, Do you think the government can stop drug abusers and drug
addiction in the country? YES OR NO? support you answers by citing provisions
in the law. Provide situations.

Yes, the government can stop drug abusers and drug addiction in the country. The
government has made laws that criminalize the possession, manufacturing, trafficking,
and distribution of illegal drugs. For example, the Comprehensive Drug Abuse
Prevention and Control Act of 1970 made it illegal to possess, manufacture, or distribute
drugs classified as having a potential for abuse. Additionally, the Federal Controlled
Substances Act of 1970 created five schedules based on the potential for abuse and
medical use of substances, and made it illegal to possess, distribute, or manufacture any
substances classified as a Schedule I drug, which includes drugs such as heroin,
cocaine, and marijuana. Furthermore, the government has implemented various
prevention and intervention programs to reduce drug abuse and addiction. These
programs include providing access to addiction treatment and mental health services,
increasing public awareness about the dangers of drug use, and providing drug-free
environments in schools and communities. Additionally, the government has set up
programs to provide support for individuals with substance use disorders, such as the
Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant Program, and the Substance
Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). These programs are
designed to help individuals with substance use disorders access treatment, as well as
provide resources to help them recover and lead healthy lives.
