FORTNITE
Fortnite is an electronic game of the third-person shooter genre from Epic Games.
Focused on a clean daytime scene and night fighting, it is Epic's first Epic game for
Unreal Engine 4. It began to be developed in 2013. The game consists of up to a
hundred players who fall from parachutes on an island in search of weapons and
equipment in order to kill other players while trying to survive at the same time. The
playing area progressively slows down, confining the survivors to a shrinking space
and forcing encounters. The last player or surviving team wins. The game allows both
first-person and third-person prospects. The game was released in March 2017 for
Microsoft Windows on Steam's pre-release platform, selling more than 18 million
copies in the first eight months, reaching a peak of more than 2 million concurrent
players at the end of 2017, most played platform game until then. Epic Games released
version 1.0 of the game on December 20, 2017, the Xbox version was released on
December 12 through the testing program The game was initially released in alpha and
beta versions for a restricted audience of 80,000 players, including streamers from the
Twitch site, and shortly before releasing early access to Steam Bluehole opened some
servers to other streamers. Early access was released on March 23 for Microsoft
Windows. Initially this phase should last until September 2017, but in July 2017,
Greene announced that this time limit would be extended to make the game more well
developed at its official launch. Initially, Bluehole thought that the game would only gain
great popularity just at its launch, I tried to plan early access to evaluate how the game
would behave with a moderate number of players. The explosion in popularity still pre-
empted served to bring up connectivity problems in the game for which Bluehole would
return. During August, weekly bug fixes were released. In the following months, the
amount of patches was reduced, since the very frequent patches were causing stability
problems in the game.
