Some issues to be solved in coming releases:
• Replay functionality
• Configuration cloning
• Support for 4 pcs of SAILOR 6204 CSM (Support for 2 pcs is implemented)
• Support for BI channel table and ATIS function
• DSC printer support
• TU software update from CU
The software package, as well as new versions manuals, are available for download at the
Cobham SATCOM SYNC portal at https://sync.cobham.com/satcom/
Important Note:
It is recommended to software update Transceiver Unit (TU) before updating Control Unit
(CU).
After software update is done, it is required to do Factory Reset of the system, both Control
Unit and Transceiver Unit! Once Factory Reset is done, please Power Cycle the system
using the stand-by/power button. This is important, else the CU & TU will NOT do a re-parring.
If software update is done from version 1.05 > 1.10, please see tech note 95-180085-A for
step-by-step guide how to do update.
During software update of the Control Unit 7224 through TMA Tool, the CU will reappear as
new device. This is due to the “display of wrong serial number” issue listed above.
Note 1:
New feature:
The system is an always-on system, meaning that the CU and TU cannot be turned off. A
physical standby button is available to the user.
The function of the standby button is to turn off all outputs and inputs, including display, but
not power down the functionality of vital systems.
Note 2:
New feature:
I/O pins (AUX OC, DSC call & DSC Alarm) can now be used for the different purposes.
Note 3:
New feature:
It is now possible to use the prefixes F and L when making private channels.
Note 4:
New feature:
It is now possible to communicate with a CAM, and other network approved equipment, over
ethernet using the requirements in IEC 61162-450.
We expect updated IEC 61162-450 certificate to arrive, and be available on SYNC, very soon.
Note 5:
New feature:
When MMSI starting with 00, the radio goes into 'NON GMDSS'-mode.
