3. Main Usage , Performance and Characteristics


The machine is used for shearing the plates with a thickness of 0.5-8mm
and width of 2500mm , 3200mm or 4000mm.
The standard strength of the sheared plate is 500N/mm2. If plates with other
strength need to be sheared their thickness should be reduced accordingly.
The machine adopts steel plate-welded structure , hydraulic transmission
and nitrogen return strode cylinder , ensuring a stable and reliable operation . It
is compact , light and regid .
The cutter edge gap can be adjusted rapidly and cvnveniently as the
machine has front and back plate bafflers . The front baffler is measured by
scale and positioned by dog while the back plate baffler is drived mechanically
and can be fine-tuned manually , with values displayed on revolution counter .
The stroke of the upper cutter seat can be stepless adjusted to raise the
efficiency of short plate shearing . The machine is equipped with protection
fence to ensure the safety of operation .

4. Hydraulic Transmission System of Machine


The hydraulic system of machine ( see Fig 1. ) mainly consists of
25MCY14-1B axial plunger pump 2 , electromagnetic overflow valve 5 etc.
The system-required pressure is supplied by axial plunger pump 2 , with
the maxium work pressure beiong 18 Mpa . The return stroke of the upper
cutter seat is accomplished by nitrogen return-stroke cylinder 12 whoes gas
filling pressure is 4.5Mpa。Special attention: Only nitrogen is allowed to be
filled into the return-stroke cylinder . Oxygen filling is strictly prohibited .
The working principle of the hychranlic system is : the oil is pumped by
the oil pump into the material pressing cylinder 8 and electromagnetic overflow
valve 5 through the pipe . When the electromagnetic valve is set at normally
open position (disenergizde) , the whole system is unloaded and the machine
has no any operation . When the valve is energizde , set at normally close
position , the oil enters the overflow control state . As at the set value of
pressure , the overflow valve is closed , the pressure is gradually going-up in
the oil circuit .The plate pressing cylinder first overcomes the spring’s pulling
force and presses down . The working oil cylinder overcomes the supporting
force and begins the down stroke . When the upper cutter seat goes to the down
limit , the stroke switch is made to act . The overflow valve is restored to
disenergizde position , the whole oil circiuit is unloaded , the upper cutter seat
is set on its return stroke under the action of the return-stroke cylinder and the
material pressing cylinder is reset under the action of spring force.

5. Structure of Machine
1 Framework:
The steel plate-welded frame structure is very rigid . Two cylinders are
fived on the left and right vertical posts . There is an auxiliary cutter slide on the
working table , facilitating the fine tuning of the lower cutter seat . There is also
plate feeding balls on the table which are light and easty to operate .

2 Upper Cutter Slide : it is a steel-plate welded structure with good


rigidity . With the eccentric sleeve(8) as the point of support and driven by the
left and right cylinders and nitrogen return-stroke cylinder , it swings
reciprocally to complete the shearing .

The vertical bearing face of the blade in the upper cutter seat is proccssed
into a curved shape to ensure the consistence of the gap between the upper and
lower blades in the process of shearing .
3 Plate Pressing device : it consists of 10 ~ 15 material-pressing oil
cylinders (see Fig. 4) installed on the front supporting board of the framework .
When the oil is filled into the material-pressing oil cylinders , the pressing
heads will overcome the force of the pulling spring (18) and move downward to
press the plate to be sheared . After the shearing , they will reset by means of
the pulling springs .
The pressing force will increase with the increase of the thickness of the
sheared plate .
4 Front and back bafflers :
Front plate baffler : it is set on the working table and its value is indicated
by scale . It reaches the required value by adjusting the movable dog . It will be
more convenient to use the front baffler in shearing thin steel plates .
Back plate baffler (see Fig.6) :It is installed on and moves up and down
with the upper cutter slide . Its adjusting is realized by 0.55 KW motor’s
driving , gear reducing and leading screw transmission . Pressing the adjusting
button “十” (or“一” )can realize the backward (foreward) adjustment of the
plate baffler . When the required value cann’tbe reached by mechanical
adjustment . Manualadjustment by turning manual adjusting wheel (41) can be
used . Therefore , the adjustment of back baffler is bots convenient and
reliable .
The adjustment range of the back baffler is 20-600mm . When the length
of the sheared plate is larger than the maximal baffling distance of the back
baffler , move the baffler (29) to the last position and raise it by bearing (36)
and the inclined surface of supporter (33) . Then the plate with any length can
be sheared .

6. Electrical System of Machine


The machine uses 50HZ , 380Vthree-phase four-wire system of power
supply , with 380V three-phase for the machine moter , 220V single-phase for
line lights and 380V two-phase for control transformer . The output of the
control transformer is for use of control circuit , of which 24V is for control of
back plate baffler , 29V , after rectification , for electromagnetic commutating
valve and count relay , 6V for indicators and 220V for other control
components .
The electrical cabinet is at the left side of the machine , which contains the
mechanical interlocking mechanism and control the power supply of the
machine . All the operational components except the foot switch SA4 are
concentrated on the push-button station in the front of the machine , with the
function of each camponent marked by the above fignaral symbol .
The operational sequence of the machine is as follows:
Open the mechanical interlocking in the electrical cabinet by key . Turn its
handle to “close” position , the power source of the machine is swithed on .
Then , Open the key button SA1( )to switch on the control circuit . The
indicator light HL2( )lights , showing power-on .
Press push-button swith SB3 or SB4( ) to increase or decrease
the open distance of the back plate baffler to the required size . The size of the
open distance of the back baffler is displayed on the counter at the left lower
part of the push-button station . At the maxium and minium sizes , there are
stroke switches (SQ4 , SQ5)to limit the maxium open distance to be 600mm
and the minium to be 20mm .
Press push-button switch SB2( ) to start the motor of oil pump . The
swith SB2 has indicator light itself to indicate wether the motor works .
Turn the rotary switch SA3( ) to select shearing modes . When SA3
( ) is turned to position , “one stroke” mode is selected , and SA3( ) to
position ,“continuous stroke”is selected . When SA3 is at one-stroke position ,
step-on the foot switch SA4 , the upper cutter seat will shear downward .

Release SA4 , the upper cutter seat will stop move downward and return
immediately to the upper dead point . Step-on SA4 again for another shearing .
It should be noted that the foot switch SA4 cann’t be released if the plate is not
fully sheared for fear of the wrong shearing of the plate . When SA3 is at the
position of continuous stroke , Make a step-on on the foot switch SA4 ( the
step-on time cann’t be too long . Otherwise it will become one shearing), the
machine will make continuous shearing . Make another step-on SA4 , the
continuous shearing will stop .
The machine has also shearing length adjusting device , shearing times
number counting device , Turn potentiometer RP ( ) to adjust the
shearing length .
Turn the rotary switch SA5( ) to position“1”to count the
shearing times number . At position “0”, no counting is made . The number of
shearing times can be set by the counter relay . Press the reset push-button of
the relay , push open the digital window , turn the digital wheels of vovrious
places to required value and then close the digital window , completing the
setting . When the number shearing times reaches the set value , the machine
will stop . Only by pressing the reset push-button , can the machine shears
according the original set value . Counted shearing can be made when the
machine works in “one stroke” or “continuous stroke” mode . However , it
should be noted that when the machine is in “continuous stroke” mode , press
the reset button will make the machine to shear according to the original set
value (without stepping-on the foot swtich) . Therefore , if no need for shearing ,
SA4 should be turn to the position of “one stroke” before resetting .
Turn the rotary switch SA2( ) to switch on the fluoresent light for
moving the plate for shearing .
Don’t forget to lock SA1 key switch SA1 key switch and the interlocking
mechanism of electrical cabinet , before leaving the machine .
The machine should be reliably earthed .

7. Hoisting and Installation of Machine


1. The hoisting of the machine should be done according to Fig.8 .
2. Foundation of the machine
(1). Foundation size may refer to Fig.9 , the installation foundation .
(2). The soil around the foundation should be compacted . The depth shall be
determined in accordance with the conditions of the soil .
3. Installation of machine
When installing the machine , the rolling ball cover on the working table
should be removed . Put a one-meter ruler on two packing blocks and use a
horizon for correction in longitudinal and transversal directions . The allowable
error in 1000mm should not be greater than 0.2mm .

8. Lubrication of Machine
1. The main lubrication points of the machine are lubricated by oil gun
injection , which are shown as follows :

Note:
1. Cacium base grease and machine oil are mixed in a ratio of 50% to 50%
for use .
2. Graphidte lithium base grease should be mixed with 30% machine oil
for use .

9. Adjustment and Operation of Machine

1). Adjustment of the cutter edge gap


The right adjustment of the cutter edge is an important factor influencing
the shearing quality and the prolonging of the cutter blade life . It is suggested
to select the gap values from the following table .

For gap adjustment(see Fig.2) , loose the lock screw (3) , turn the handle to
the required graduation value and tight the screw (3) .
Ball valve (see Fig.1) is for measuring the uniformness of the edge gap
between the upper and lower cutter blades . The method is in one-time stroke
mode , when the upper cutter slide moves to the lower dead point , rapidly turn
the ball valve to close the oil circuit so as to let the upper cutter slide stop at the
lower dead point . Then open and close the ball valve little by little to make the
upper cutter slide complete the whole stroke by rising in steps , when the
uniformness of the cutter edge gap can be measured by steps .
2). Preparation for operation:
(1) Clean out the oil contamination on the surface of parts . Make sure the
gradation line on the ball valve point to the open position .
(2) Fill grease into lubrication points .

(3) Fill into the oil tank 40# low condensation hydraulic oil .
(4) Earth the machine switch on the machine to check the action
coordination of various electrial appliances .

3. Operation
(1) Start the machine for several no-load running cycles . When it is sure
there are no abnormalities , try the shearing of plates with different thickness
(from thin to thick)
(2) Open the switch of pressure gange during the shearing process and
observe the pressure value of oil circuit . If there are any abnormalities , adjust
the overflow value to make it meet the specified requirement .
(3) If any abnormal noise or the overheat of oil tank is found during the
operation , immediately stop and inspect the machine . The maxium
temperature of the oil tank should be less than 60℃.

10. Safety Technology and Maitenance of Machine


1 The operators should be familiar with the structure and performances of
the machine . As the operation of the machine involves several people , there
should be a person specially assigned for the commanding of production .
2 Never to put the hand between the blades to avoid accidents .
3 Don’t put any articles or tools on the working table to avoid any
accidents caused by cutting into the cutter edge .
4 Check periodically the sharpness of the cutter edge . If found blunt , the
blade should be ground or changed timely . Only grind the thickness of the
blade .
5 Periodically check the various parts of the machine . Keep the machine
and the environment clean and make sure the wire is in good insulation
condition .
6 Often check and clean the net oil filtex on the suctivn inlet of the oil
pump to make it keep a normal oil through-flow . If the filter is blocked , the oil
through flow will be reduced , which could lead to the air suction of the oil
pump that will affect its life .
7 Filling oxygen , pressed air or other flammable gases into the
return-stroke cylinder is prohibited . Nitrogen filling should be made slowly .
8 Nitrogen filling into the return-stroke cylinder should be made with gas
filling tool with a filling pressure of 4.5Mpa .
