Tools placed under the “Analysis” drop down menu are used for both real time and post
session analysis specifically looking at run characteristics.
Best Lap Comparison provides analysis for single lap performance as below:
As with other plugins, “Best Lap Comparison” can display a chart. This chart looks at the
driver who has been selected on the left of the plugin in each sector compared to the
driver with the best overall lap for each team.
↵ BACK TO INDEX 18

Cars on track shows the lap pattern for each individual car, highlighting lap types as
follows:
Two views are available via the right mouse-click menu, the standard view (left) and
portrait mode (right).
When tyres are allocated, the portrait mode will include these tyre information.
This plugin allows the user to select the session data of a driver by checking their name
in the side bar of the plugin. This brings up the full lap data of the selected driver
including a sector breakdown and session status.
By right clicking in the top of the plugin window where there is no data it is possible to
select to view pre-defined and imported car data, for example Tyre Pressures, Tyre
Temperatures, Energy, etc.
This functionality is optional and requires a pre-defined format and import process.

4.5 FP TO Q IMPROVEMENT
This plugin is designed to provide a Lap & Sector comparison of a live session or replay
against historical data.
Historical data can be loaded via the corresponding menu. Slower times are shown in
red, improvements compared to history in green. The bottom of the table features an
average calculation for all cars selected.
This plugin shows the top 10 in the race, sorted by fastest lap. Cars in P11 and P12 are
also shown at the bottom of the list.

Provided that GPS data are available, the GPS Compare plugin provides various
functionalities to compare them.
DATA SELECTION
a) GPS FOLDER: Data are not stored as part of the historical data set, but separately
in a pre-defined folder. To access this folder out of One Timing, the path has to be
entered.
The data will then show up when clicking on the ‘plus’ symbol.

FILTERING
A right mouse-click on the lap will show all filter options and allows to set individual
parameters.
TRACE ALIGNMENT
Several options are in place to align speed traces, available using the context menu on
the speed traces’ graph.
↵ BACK TO INDEX 23
ONE TIMING MANUAL
a) Best fit method (completely automatic): the average speed trace of all loaded laps
is calculated in the background. Each speed trace is then aligned to minimize the
error between the “averaged lap” and the current lap. This will produce a good
average alignment but might not suit users that want to have the traces aligned
to a particular moment of the lap.
Grouping
Clicking laps while pressing the Ctrl key will allow to the select them. The user can select
a range of laps using the Shift key instead of Ctrl.
When several laps are selected, the context menu offers allows to group the laps, change
their visibility or remove them. The average speed for the groups is a dashed line so that
they can be identified easily. By default, a translucent band representing + and – the
standard deviation for each value is displayed to understand where the user needs to be
cautious looking at the graph. The standard deviation band can be turned ON and OFF
using the context menu on the speed traces graph.
↵ BACK TO INDEX 24
ONE TIMING MANUAL
If the user wants to remove a lap from a group, he needs to expand the group and double
click the “Trash” icon of the lap. If the user wants to add a lap to a group, he can do it by
selecting a certain lap and then, using the context menu, select “Add to group”. (A lap
instance can be added only once to a group).
↵ BACK TO INDEX 25
ONE TIMING MANUAL
Provided that speed data are available, the lap time/speed analysis plugin generates a
plot of Top Speed per lap vs Lap Time for each driver for each of the laps they have
completed during the session.
This plugin looks at the lap times achieved by each driver over the time of the session in
the form of a graph. Gaps in the graph lines indicate the driver is in the pits at this time
of day.
Drivers to be viewed are selected on the left hand side. A number of features are available
when right clicking:
↵ BACK TO INDEX 26
ONE TIMING MANUAL
The long run analysis plugin looks at the long run pace of each driver by first establishing
the long runs in a session and then outputting the following graph for the user to see
who is on top in terms of long run pace. The reference lap, number of laps considered
for a long run and the maximum deviation from lap time can be selected by the user for
this analysis.
The function of each box at the top of the plugin can also be found by hovering the cursor
over the box of interest. As with other plugins, drivers can be selected and de selected at
will.
The user can highlight a car of choice by hovering over their long run pace line, this will
make the line bold and a small window will pop up with the relevant driver acronym.
↵ BACK TO INDEX 27
ONE TIMING MANUAL
This plugin shows where overtakes have occurred for each selected driver visually, with
a bar on the graph representing an overtake which has been achieved at a given lap
shown on the x axis of the chart.
It is possible to change the options of what is shown on the overtake plot by right clicking
within the plugin box:
Selecting Same Lap will display overtakes performed to pass cars on the same lap
as the selected car.
Selecting Same Class Only ensures only overtakes of cars within the same class of
the selected competitor are shown.
The final option allows the user to export this data which can then be copied into
an excel sheet.
↵ BACK TO INDEX 28
ONE TIMING MANUAL
This plugin has the same function as “Overtaking Statistics”, however it shows the
number of overtakes per sector and further does not have any right click options.
This plugin provides a summary of various pace metrics to enable a quick comparison
of relative performance. By clicking on the column header the user can sort the table by
a certain category, for example Best or Theory.
Right-mouse click provides options to de/select columns or to show the delta to the
fastest competitor instead of absolute numbers.
For Endurance races, the plugin has the option to show individual drivers for the
selected cars.
↵ BACK TO INDEX 29
ONE TIMING MANUAL
This plugin is most relevant for pit stop races. It displays and ranks the in- and out-lap
timings.
This plugin shows the time spent in the pit lane and the relative pit loss (calculated) for
each of the competitors in ascending order.
Right clicking within the plugin gives options to filter the displayed data or to present it
in a different manner:
Clicking Remove Drive Through will remove any time in the pit lane that has
occurred as a result of a drive through penalty
Clicking Show as Diff to Best shows each amount of time in the pit lane per driver
as a difference to the minimum of the time spent in the pit lane.
This plugin plots the moving average of lap times for each car in ascending order (from
fastest to slowest lap).
Right clicking within the plugin gives options to filter the displayed data or to present it
in a different manner:
Clicking Display Single Drivers (Endurance) will display one line for each driver of
the selected car(s), enabling a driver-by-driver comparison.
Clicking Sectors [N] will display the average for the selected sector.
↵ BACK TO INDEX 30
ONE TIMING MANUAL
Provided that speed data are available, this plugin looks purely at the speeds achieved at
each sector (and overall) in descending order, allowing the user to easily identify who
achieves the top speed at each part of the track and where each driver ranks in
comparison.
In the top left corner the user can chose the display of this data, either as a table of values
as above or a graph of the speed trap values as seen below. The speed values can also
be shown as percentages by right clicking on the Values page of the Speed Analysis
plugin.
By right clicking in the window of the chart it is possible to change the parameter which
is being displayed.
↵ BACK TO INDEX 31
ONE TIMING MANUAL
Provided that speed data are available, this plugin shows the distribution of speeds for
every car and manufacturer. It is assuming that the speed traps’ distribution for each
driver is a normal distribution.
The default view is showing the normal distribution of the speed traps for all the drivers
of the current session.
Two distributions will be displayed per driver (the solid line is the “No DRS” distribution
and the dashed line is the “DRS” distribution. The distribution curves start at the lowest
speed trap recorded and finish at the highest speed trap recorded. Left click on the curve
will show the distribution name ( Driver’s name + “DRS” on the “DRS” curve) as well as
the mean, standard deviation, min speed trap and max speed trap for the set of samples.
The last line “nSamples” gives the number of samples used for the computation as well
as the total number of samples.
The user can set a minimum speed trap threshold (as well as a minimum population
required to start displaying the curves) using the context menu of the plugin. This will
allow to filter abnormal speed traps (e.g. yellow flags)
↵ BACK TO INDEX 32
ONE TIMING MANUAL
The context menu also allows the user to show/hide “DRS” and “No DRS” laps and switch
the X axis to % instead of kph. In this case the highest speed trap of all the session is
considered 100% and the others speed traps are scaled accordingly.
The user can also switch the graph to “Manufacturer view” from the context menu.
In order to be able to do fast comparisons, the user has the possibility to scroll the vertical
axis (negative Y axis) to uncover the names of each curve in order to easily identify each
curve.
The Stint analysis plugin breaks up each driver’s laps into a series of stints, the stints are
clearly separated by a yellow line between the stints.
At the bottom of each set of stints the stints being viewed can be selected, with the length
of each stint also shown. The total running time along with the best lap for each driver
and theoretical best lap generated via fastest sector times is also given.
↵ BACK TO INDEX 33
ONE TIMING MANUAL
Each set of data can be expanded (and hidden) by clicking on “AVG > > >” shown at the
top of each set of stints. This gives the sector times and speeds for each lap.
Depending on the series, the column next to the lap number will display additional
information such as
The background colour of the total lap number (first column of left hand side) indicates
the track status (green, yellow, SC, FCY, VCS, etc).
↵ BACK TO INDEX 34

Time Analysis looks at the fastest individual sector times during the session in ascending
order (quickest sector time to slowest in that sector) as well as the fastest laps of the
session and the theoretical best lap.
In the same way as the “Speed Analysis”, it is possible to change these values to
percentages by right clicking and selecting Show Percentages or Show Delta
Right clicking also provides a Power Mode filter (Formula E only), which is saved
with the layout.
Similar to Time Analysis, but taking additional loops into account – provided there is more
trigger available than the main sector lines.

5.1 COUNTDOWN
The Countdown plugin is a timer that shows the remaining time until the start of the next
event as defined in a pre-loaded schedule. Every user with admin rights can publish a
new or overwrite an existing time schedule.
The event news feed displays messages that have been entered by different users in
chronological order.
To publish information the user must click the entry field, type the message and then
submit by pressing the enter / return key. There is several options via right mouse-click
available.
Selecting Reset On New Session resets the plugin at the beginning of every new
session.
Selecting Prepend User Name shows the defined user name at the beginning of
each session to enable assignability of messages.
By selecting Auto-Follow the plugin will only show messages that are related to
+2/-2 cars around the selected reference driver.
The dropdown menu next to the entry field provides a selection of categories (GENERAL,
WEATHER, STRATEGY, etc). Based on the participants of the session (driver list), this menu
will also allow selection of a certain driver to publish related messages. If the user selects
a driver, two entry fields will open up (DRV = driver / ENG = engineer). This functionality
is designed to facilitate the process of radio transcribing.
↵ BACK TO INDEX 36
ONE TIMING MANUAL
The user can select which session to replay using Choose file. This will give access to a
menu similar to “Historical Data”. Once a session has been selected, the “Play” button
is enabled and pressing it will start the replay. The play button will the act as a “Pause”
button if pressed it again.
The user can then use the slider to move within the session. Please note that the
historical data cover more than the real session (logs start before the session and end
after the end of the session), hence the will have to use the slider to navigate to the
starting point.
The pit board plugin is designed to coordinate and visualize the intended pit board setup
between engineers, strategists and mechanics or pit board operators respectively. In an
ideal scenario, the pit board operator at the pit wall is equipped with a screen and
receives the live updates of the pit board setup in order to have a template to match on
the actual pit board.
More than one pit board display can be shown at one time by selecting a number of
drivers on the left hand side.
The bottom row provides the option for manual entries. To do so the user must select a
message from the drop-down menu and then press “Go” to release the message. At end
of lap, bottom row messages are cleared.
When ‘Do Not Display’ box is ticked, the receiving end (pit board operator) will not
receive an update of the board.
↵ BACK TO INDEX 37
ONE TIMING MANUAL
For series that have a minimum pit stop time, the pit release plugin helps optimizing the
pit lane time. It takes into account the minimum pit time as per the regulations as well
as the time from garage / gantry to pit exit. When the countdown is 0, the car shall be
released from garage or gantry respectively.
This plugin allows the user to open any web page. This may be an internet web page,
excel web page or other.
6.2 R
This plugin allows analysis to be performed on data using scripts written in R. To use,
first drag an R script file into the window followed by the data you wish to analyse (or
leave this if a session producing data is running). To run the R script the given data must
be in the correct format as specified in the script.
By right clicking it is possible to export any data in the software to a format compatible
for use in R, after clicking Export for R , the data can then be pasted into an Excel file.

The event media player plugin enables a synchronised replay of historical sessions that
combines data and video sources. Once a historical session is selected and the replay
started, the user will have access to the available video feeds.
Once selected, the plugin is configured. The videos are aligned to the timing stream
and per default cover few minutes before and after the start of the race / session. The
volume can be adjusted in the context menu and muted using the bottom right button.
The Media Center enables offline Video & Audio replay in sync with data. The feature is
accessible through the “Media Center“ menu at the top.
When a session is loaded the user can download the available media onto the local disk,
provided he is connected to the host organization’s network (team network).
A progress bar with a basic estimated time until completion will be displayed for each
download.
The videos will be available for replay locally automatically the next time the session is
loaded. If One Timing has some info stored locally, the associated event is written in the
menu so that there is no need to remember which event has been stored locally.
The user needs to wait for all the download to be completed to change session or close
One Timing. If not, the download will not be completed and the video/audio replay will
not work as expected.
A 60min video file needs about 750MB available on the ‘C‘ drive. There are no checks of
the available space before starting the download.

ONE TIMING MANUAL
This plugin produces a race trace of the session as shown below, on a sector-by-sector
basis. In contrast to simulation results, the race trace plugin plots only historical data
(=completed sectors).
If the user clicks on a part of a driver’s trace it is possible to see the gap that the driver
has generated from the reference time.
Selecting Export Strats allows the user to export the suggested strategies of each
driver.
Selecting Export Gaps allows the user to export the gaps of each driver to the
reference which will allow them to reproduce the trace, for example in Excel.
As with RACE TRACE, the user can select to show forward markers and show
backmarkers on the trace if necessary to see cars on different laps and where
traffic occurs.
By selecting Reference and using the drop down menu to select a driver, the
simulation results can be displaced with reference to a chosen Driver (Driver =
baseline).
In case the backmarker and forward markers are selected, they will be shown as faint
lines to be able to distinguish them from the main race trace.

ONE TIMING MANUAL
Simulation results show the prediction of how the race will unfold as a result of
simulations running during the session, on a sector-by-sector basis. This will adapt as the
race proceeds, the length of the race will automatically update and shift the graph. The
number of laps at the top left of the x-axis will always match with the estimated total race
laps.
To pick out a certain driver simply hover over their race trace and their line will become
bold, making it easier to distinguish from the other traces. As with the RACE TRACE and
a number of other plugins, drivers included in the graph shown can be selected on the
left hand of the plugin using the check boxes.
To simulate the most likely outcome of certain scenarios, the plugin will refer to a set of
specific parameters. These are based on regulations of the series and events as well as
driver, team, manufacturer and track metrics.
The graph above represents a pit stop race (e.g. Formula 2, DTM) and shows the outcome
of the race on the basis of different tyre and pit stops strategies across the grid on the
basis of tyre degradation curves, relative pace, tyre age, pit loss, overtaking threshold,
etc. The example below represents a Formula E race and shows the outcome of the Attack
Mode Activation of a car on the basis of relative pace, Attack mode duration and pace
improvement, overtaking threshold and other.

The Notification Board is designed to provide live updates for any event on track. The
system will automatically detect and notify in accordance with the categories selected
via right-mouse click.
The Auto-Follower function is available to only show notifications that concern -2/+2
cars around.

13.3 PAGE 2
Page 2 is an extension to Page 1, providing more in depth information about the laps
completed. This page contains a thorough breakdown of each lap completed during each
session, with laps organised as they were run during the session (chronologically by time
of day).
This plugin shows all Race Control Messages in chronological order. Every new
Message triggers an audio signal (beep) and a blue background (for 10 sec) to increase
the awareness of the user.
This plugin shows the current state of the track in alignment with the Race Control
Messages. During a green or red flag period, the plugin shows the time remaining. A
chequered yellow flag represents a yellow flag after the end of the session.

The circle of doom is the most powerful plugin to show the relative position of a car on
track. The sector lines are time based. The default information of the plugin are:
Cars on track (inside of Circle = Out lap / outside of Circle = any lap after Out lap)
Sector lines
Gaps between cars (no value if <3sec).
Lap marker (indicates number of laps possible before end of sessions; cars ahead
of marker can achieve the lap number indicated at marker, for any car behind it is
-1 lap).
Selecting Driver and then choosing a relevant driver will focus the circle of doom
on that specific driver. It will give the gap (-) to the driver in front and the gap (+)
to the driver behind When the gaps are green in the idle of the circle the driver is
either closing to the car in front or increasing their gap to the car behind, and vice
versa for gaps in red.
The circle will then also feature an Out marker, indicating the relative position that
the car will drop into when it is released from the garage now.
For pit stop races, the circle will also show a pit loss window, indicating where the
car will leave the pit lane relatively to other cars after a pit stop.
Selecting Class will allow the user to look at cars in a specific class if more than
one class is available
Selecting Our Cars Only will allow only the team’s vehicles to be visible on the
Circle of Doom. This a custom feature and can the selectable team can be changed
individually.
Selecting Laps in Stint shows the lap count of the current outing per driver,
including the current lap.
Selecting Display Reference Lap Time shows the reference lap time for the lap
marker at the bottom of the plugin.
Selecting Indicate Cars on Prep Lap applies to Practice and Qualifying sessions
where cars on their pre-Qualifying run lap are indicated on the Circle of Doom by
brackets around the driver name. Cars on an Out Lap will be displayed inside of
the circle.

Selecting Display Laps Remaining shows the number of laps for green flag
conditions before end of the session and margin per car. The example below
shows that CAL can do another 8 laps in that sessions, with a margin of 83.5 sec.
He is behind the lap marker. EVA is ahead of the lap marker and can complete
another 9 laps with a margin of 5.9 sec.
For the FIA Formula E Championship, there are further options available.
When a Driver is selected, an Attack Mode awareness info will be displayed next
to the gap to the car behind, with the following options
1) ATK OK – No risk to lose position when going through the activation zone.
2) ATK RISK – Risk to lose position when going through the activation zone

Selecting Preview attack countdown enables four bars for any Attack Mode
activation in a Race, with each bar representing 25% of the total activation time.
During Practice & Qualifying, the plugin will show a solid line in different colours.

Option to display custom line. Enable Custom line, then enter parameter.
Mini Gap shows the evolution of the gap to a car over a selected number of laps
and for a certain threshold (customizable via menu). Per default the Mini Gap will
show three squares, each representing one lap with the most recent (last) lap at
the left, and refer to a threshold of 0.1s per lap. Red = loss beyond the threshold /
Green = gain beyond the threshold / Yellow = loss or gain within the threshold.
Class selection, with cars of unselected classes being shown in light grey for
information. In a race with different classes, the reference car will feature PC
(position in class).
Cars that are one lap down or at risk of being lapped feature a blue square (see QMA in
screenshot below). Cars that are one lap ahead or about to lap the reference car feature
a red square.

ONE TIMING MANUAL
Shows the progression of each car in a given lap in relation to each sector time. This
essentially is similar to the Circle of Doom but a line showing each driver’s progression
over the lap. The graphic reads from left to right with the far right indicating the end of
the lap. Right clicking allows to filter by class if more than one class is running.
The physical map shows the cars on the actual track map. The iteration between the
sector lines is based on a reference lap that has been used to create the map.
By right clicking the user can change the orientation of the physical map of the track by
selecting the angle of rotation as well as the zoom factor desired.
The physical map features various information, which may be track or series dependent.
Provided the track is created on the basis of GPS data and GPS data are available, there
is the option to use them to populate cars.
The track source is visible in the context menu (based on XY coordinates or GPS data).
If the track is based on XY coordinates, the cars will be interpolated between the sector
lines. The ‘Gps’ info will be coloured grey in this mode.
↵ BACK TO INDEX 65
ONE TIMING MANUAL
If the track is based on GPS data (new default in FE), the option to display cars based on
GPS coordinates will be available. The ‘Gps’ info will be coloured green to confirm the
live GPS mode.
The Running order plugin shows the on track running order and in pit lane. It does this
by showing:
Cars in the pit lane in the order they entered
Cars in S3 in the order they finished S2
Cars in S2 in the order they finished S1
Cars in S1 in the order they started the lap
Provided that live weather data are available, either through timekeeping or team
weather station, this plugin shows the current values.
The graphical view (optional via right mouse-click) will show the evolution over time.
This plugin shows a pre-defined weather web page for this event.
