3. Enable TruePower™ PoE Loading

4. Flash Switch Port
• Press Flash Port (F1) to flash
the switch port to which
LinkRunner is connected.
• You can control the speed
that the port is flashed by
pressing the left and right
arrow keys.

5. Enable IPv6
• Return to the main screen by
pressing the Home key
• Select Tools
• Select IP Configuration
• Press the right arrow key to
move to IPv6 configuration
• Select Enable to enable IPv6
• Press Save (F2) save your
changes

6. AutoTest
• Return to the main screen by pressing
the Home key
• Select AutoTest
• AutoTest will:
– Test PoE since it was enabled in a
previous step
– Link
– Get an IP address
– Ping the Gateway and DNS
servers
• The symbol means additional
results are available. The
symbol means detailed results are
displayed.
• To show or hide the detailed
results, highlight the row in
question and press SELECT.

7. Add AutoTest Targets
• Press Add Device (F1) to a new
device
• Select Target 1
• Use the keyboard to enter your
target. Targets can be a URLs or
IPv4/IPv6 IP addresses.
• Enter port number to perform TCP
port connectivity testing
• Select the IPv6 box to test using
IPv6
• Press the go back button to
move back up to AutoTest
• Press Start Test (F1) to run new
AutoTest

8. Cable Tests
• Return to the main screen by
pressing the Home key
• Select Cable LinkRunner AT connected to an active
switch
• Cable results show that the
LinkRunner AT is connected
to an active switch
• Note: the length of the cable
to the nearest active device is
shown even when connected.

A good, non-terminated
cable 49.7ft long
• Unplug the network cable and
connect a patch cord to
LinkRunner AT.
• Terminate the patch cord into
LinkRunner’s internal wiremap A mis-wired cable with pairs
1,2 and 7,8 swapped using
port on the left hand side of the cable identifier #4
unit.
• You can also use an external
cable identifier with comes with
the LinkRunner AT 2000 as
shown in the middle image.

9. Save a Report
• Press the Save button
• Select Save to save
LinkRunner’s current data to
“report”
• Select Edit to enter a new report
name
• Use the keyboard to enter your
profile name and press Save
(F2)
• Press Save (F2) again to save
your profile
• You can print your report with
LinkRunner Manager software

10. Save a Profile
• A profile allows you to save your
LinkRunner AT configuration
• Return to the main screen by
pressing the Home key
• Select Tools
• Select Manage Files
• Select Save (F2)
• Press Edit (F1) change the name
of your profile
– Press Save (F2) to save the new
name
– Press Save (F2) to save the
profile

11. Using LinkRunner Manager Software
• The LinkRunner Manager software is required for two main
functions
1. The ability to manage LinkRunner’s configuration in profiles
2. Create Reports from information that LinkRunner has
collected
• The first step is to install the LRM software on your
computer. Follow the directions included on the LRM
software CD.
• You will also need a USB cable to connect LinkRunner to
your PC

12. Print a Report
• Start the LRM program
• Connect LinkRunner AT to
your PC with the USB
cable
• Notice that LRM now
shows your saved report

• Press the Report icon to
open the Report Generator
• Select the Report you would
like to print
• Press the Generate button to
create your report

13. Backup your Profile
• In the LRM menu bar, click on
Tools, then Profile Manager
• In the Profile Manager window,
highlight the profile you created
on LinkRunner AT
• Press the Transfer from
LinkRunner AT button to
transfer the file to the PC
• The new Profile will show up in
“Local Profiles”
• You can also transfer profiles
from your PC to a fleet of
LinkRunners with the Transfer to
LinkRunner AT button

14. Create a Screen Capture
• Document LinkRunner AT’s
current screen via a screen
capture.
• In the LRM menu bar, click on
Tools, then Screen Capture
• Press Capture to capture
LinkRunner AT’s current
screen.
• LinkRunner will generate a
bitmap file of the current
screen and store it in the
Current Directory as specified
at the top of the window.
