Funded Internship Opportunities


Applications are invited from eligible candidates for Summer Internship Program Under the
SERB-sponsored Scientific Social Responsibility (SSR) as part of an ongoing Research Project
entitled “Interaction of various environmental factors on the fracturing behavior and
damage mechanism in rocks” at the Department of Civil Engineering, National Institute of
Technology Karnataka, Surathkal.
The details of the position are as follows:
No. of Positions : Two
Eligibility : Students who have completed at least 4 to 6 semesters in
B.E. / B.Tech (Civil Engineering) from a University /
Institution within India with a CGPA of above 7.0 or 70% of
marks in preceding semesters
Students who have completed at least two semesters in
M.Sc. (Applied Geology/Geology/Earth Sciences) from a
University / Institution within India with a CGPA of above 7.0
or 70% of marks in preceding semesters
Research Topic : Rock Mechanics and Engineering Geology
❖ You will have a chance to get hands-on experience in
deformation and understand fracture damage in rocks
and its significance in various geo-engineering
projects
Requirements : A cover letter along with the NOC / Recommendation
Letter from the Head of the Department on official
letterhead and Marksheets of Previous Semesters
Mode of Internship : Offline
Duration : One month
Stipend : Rs. 5000/- (On successful completion of Internship)
Last date of Application : 15.05.2023
Declaration of Result : 20.05.2023
Period of Internship : 01.06.2023 to 30.06.2023
Mode of Selection : The selection would be made purely on a merit basis. The
decision of the selection committee would be final in this
regard.
