Teaching P.E and Health in Elementary Grades
Activity 2
1. Assuming you are the teacher, how will you handle pupils who lack one or more
components of health? Give an example scenario .

If I am the teacher and some of my pupils lack one or more components of health,
the first thing that I will do is explain to them briefly the importance of those
components and how they will improve and affect their health and holistic
development. It is also important for me to know what components of health they
lack. For example, if some of my students lack physical health, I will teach, guide,
and encourage them to do the basic exercises, eat healthy foods, and get proper
sleep to be physically healthy. And some of my students lack emotional health. As a
teacher, I will talk to them personally for them to open up about their feelings, and I
will also maintain the positivity within the classroom by having a game while
learning. I will always take care of their feelings because we all know that children
are sensitive, which is why I need to watch my actions and words in the classroom .

3. What do you think are the benefits of using activity-and child-centered curriculum
to elementary pupils when learning about physical education and health.
The benefits of using activity- and child-centered curriculum for elementary pupils
when learning physical education and health are that activity-centered curriculum helps
the learners develop their behavior and skills, including communication skills. It also
helps the learners generate ideas, socialize, and share their thoughts within the
classroom. and In a child-centered curriculum, we all know that physical education and
health are more focused on actual activities, or learning by doing, which helps the pupils
enhance their bodily kinesthetic intelligence. In short, it will improve their communication
skills as well as their bodily kinesthetic intelligence, etc.
