Purpose: The purpose of this document is to prescribe procedure analysis of Water / Maintenance of
RO plant.
1.0 Scope: Applicable to Water Analysis & Replacement of Filters of RO plant.
2.0 Responsibilities: HOD Admin / HOD QC / HOD Maintenance
3.0 Procedure:

3.1 Sample Collection / Transportation / Analysis

3.1.1 Admin representative shall collect the “Water Sample” from the collection point and
Bottle used for sampling should be Sanitize and have a capacity of 500mL.
3.1.2 Label the sample bottle with appropriate label and cover with clear waterproof
sealing tape.
3.1.3 Transporting samples should be securely transported to the analyzing laboratory as
soon as possible after collection.
3.1.4 If there is concern that contamination has occurred, the sample and container should
be discarded and a fresh sample collected.
3.1.5 Analysis of Water samples shall be carried out at Govt. approved Laboratories i.e.
PCSIR
3.1.6 Sample shall be sent to the Laboratory for the following tests:
Chemical & Physical
Microbiological
3.1.7 The Cleaning & Sanitization of RO plant will be determined on the basis of Results
from the Laboratory.
3.2 Replacement of RO Plant Filters, Membrane & UV Light

3.2.1 The Maintenance Team shall be monitoring RO plant for its proper functioning to
avoid any contortion.
3.2.2 RO filters (Sand Filters and Carbon Filter) should ideally be replaced every 6-12
months & RO membrane should be Replace every 2-3 years.
Or Whenever required, to ensure optimal effectiveness of the whole reverse osmosis
system.
3.2.3 Any failure observed in the functioning of UV light may leads to the shutdown of the
Purified water plant.
3.2.4 The UV light shall be replaced at on interval of every 06 months.
3.2.5 Fill & Update the record File.

4.1 Water Analysis Report
4.2 Filters Replacement Record.
