Guidelines for Students Regarding RAC (Interview)


1. On the day of scheduled RAC (Interview), candidate shall fill up student information form, sign
attendance sheet.
2. No objection letter (Consent Form) duly signed by supervisor and Head research center must
be attached with Student Information Form along with other relevant documents such as
Caste/domicile/income/PH/EWS (wherever applicable) certificates.
3. Reservation of seats under different category shall be as per Govt. of MP rules.
4. Candidates are advised to read page no. 4 of Ordinance 11 available at link:

5. Candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation before
RAC. The committee shall evaluate the research potential of the candidate, ingenuity of
research and suitability of research center through direct interaction with the candidates.
Therefore, candidate should bring a short write up of Research plan (up to 1000 words, in 5
copies) illustrating broad area of research work to be undertaken, importance and
applications. Candidates might also be asked to make a power point presentation of Research
plan. Hence, they are advised to bring a power point presentation (3-4 slides).
6. The evaluation in interview will be based on the following criteria (25 Marks each)

(i) Research plan


(ii) Research potential/ aptitude
(iii) Communication skills
(iv) Subject knowledge in the respective area of research.
a. 70% weightage of Entrance test marks and 30 % weightage of interview marks be
given in preparing merit list for those candidates who got through DET 2022.
b. For exempted candidates, 100 percent weightage will be given to interview marks.
7. Please note that even if the candidate does not have a consent letter, (s)he must appear for
the RAC interview, as the RAC may allot a Supervisor/ Co-Supervisor to the candidate as per
its own discretion.
8. It may also be noted that merely having a consent letter shall not guarantee admission.
