Guidelines for preparation of B. Tech project report.

1. Before going for printing of PROJECT report, make sure that draft copy of the report is duly
corrected and endorsed by faculty mentor.
2. The report shall be HARD bound with light blue color cover page; cover page at starting of
report will have a transparent sheet.
3. Total number of copies to be printed is = 3 + Individual student copy (E.g. 4 students in
a group then no. of copies = 7)
4. Maximum number of pages can go up to 80 to 100 including (Title, Index , Appendix)
5. All the copies will be printed in A4 executive bond sheet only.
6. The dimension of the final hard bound copies is of standard A4 sheet size.
7. The reports should have the following page margins:
Top Margin: 35 mm Bottom margin: 20mm
Left Margin: 35 mm Right Margin: 20 mm
8. The report shall be typed in Times New Roman with following fonts size and formatting:
a) Chapter Number and Name: 16 Bold (e.g.-CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION)
b) Main Headings 14 Bold
c) Subheadings: 12 Bold
d) Sub-subheading 12 italic
e) Line spacing 1.5
f) Text alignment: Justified
g) Page number Front matter (i, ii, iii, ……), main matter ( 1,2,,3…..)
h) Pages number alignment: Bottom Right
i) Chapter number and name alignment Left aligned
9. The sequence in which the report should be arranged and bound is as follows:
i. Cover page (Title page)
ii. Declaration
iii. Certificate
iv. Acknowledgement
v. Abstract
vi. Table of Contents
vii. List of Tables comprising of CHAPTER NO. TITLE and Page No.
viii. List of Figures
ix. List of Symbols, Abbreviations and Nomenclature
x. Chapters I, II, III, IV, V.
xi. Appendix A
xii. Appendix B
xiii. References (As per the IEEE Format given)
10. Every Figure, Table, Graphs, and Result shown in the report must be NUMBERED and must
have a CAPTION (font size 10).
11. Numbering scheme for Figures and Tables should be as follows

Figure 1.1: Block Diagram of a Solar PV System (Indicates Figure number 1 of Chapter 1)
Table 1.1: Parameters of a Solar PV module (Indicates Table number 1 of Chapter 1)

12. All the Figures, Tables, Graphs, References given at the last of report MUST BE CITED IN
THE TEXT.
