Senior Manager - DevOps Engineer - Individual Contributor (Onboarding & Migration)

We’re looking for a Senior Manager - DevOps Engineer to join the Machine Learning Experience

(MLX) team!

The MLX team is at the forefront of how Capital One builds and deploys responsible ML models

and features; we onboard and educate associates on the ML platforms and products that the

whole company uses; we drive new innovation and research; and we’re working to seamlessly

infuse ML into the fabric of the company. The full ML experience we’re creating will enable our

lines of business to focus their time and resources on advancing their specific machine learning

objectives — all while continuing to deliver next-generation machine learning-driven products

and services for our customers.

Responsibilities:

● Lead technical initiatives and problem solving in the SRE and DevOps space for building

out tooling to ease movement of users across our various platform offerings and

versions.

● Work with teams of engineers to help drive architecture and delivery for building

abstractions on top of back-end Kubernetes based systems so as to remove complexity

of moving users of our multi-tenant machine learning platforms across different systems.

● Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning

new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities,

mentoring other members of the engineering community


● Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based and mobile

solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of customers achieve financial

empowerment

● Utilize programming languages like Go and Python as well as AWS services such as EKS,

the various EC2 and networking based services, RDS, DynamoDB, EFS and S3, plus

various data platforms.

Basic Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree

● 10+ years of overall experience

● At least 3 years of experience with AWS

● At least 3 years experience working with standard CICD tools such as Terraform, Jenkins,

AWS CodeCommit, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy, and AWS CodePipeline

● 2+ years of experience in infrastructure design, implementation and delivery

● 2+ years of experience in Agile practices

● 1+ years of experience with Kubernetes

Preferred Qualifications:

● Master’s Degree

● 12+ years of overall experience

● 6+ experience with coding and scripting (Python, SQL, JavaGolang, Bash or Perl)

● 4+ years of experience in infrastructure design, implementation and delivery

● 3+ years of experience with monitoring tools (Splunk or New Relic)

● 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes
