Estepa, Edrianne M.

1) The document describes several hypothesis tests conducted to analyze data from experiments. It provides data from experimental and control groups and tests whether their performance differs significantly. 2) Another test analyzes data on time to complete enrollment before and after computerized registration. It tests whether computerized registration significantly influences enrollment time. 3) A third test analyzes perceived effectiveness of a performance appraisal system across educational attainment levels. It tests whether perceptions differ significantly between the levels. 4) For each test, it provides the hypotheses, test statistics, and decision to reject or fail to reject the null hypothesis based on a significance level of 0.05.

EXERCISE 2 HYPOTHESIS TESTING

Name: Estepa, Edrianne M. Score

Course & Year: BPA - 2A Date: 12-01-2022

Directions: Answer what is being asked for each of the following.

A. Test systematically the corresponding hypothesis. Use data analysis of Microsoft Excel
to test the following conjectures.

1-10. Test the conjecture that performance of the experimental group is better than the control
group using the programmed material in statistics at 0.05 level of significance.

a) Ho: The performance of the experimental group is not better than the control
group using the programmed material in statistics.

b) Hi: The performance of the experimental group is better than the control group
using the programmed material in statistics.

c) α= 0.05 (One-tailed)

K. Decision: Reject H0 and accept H1 and conclude that there is significant difference
in the performance of the experimental group is not better than the control group
using the programmed material or statistics.

M. Given: x2 = 21.625 x4= 16.875 K= 1

1. a) x2 & x4

2. (21.625 – 16. 875)2/ 9.85(1/8+ 1/8) (2) = 9.1624

3. F-test =√(1)(3.47) = 1.86

4.. a. Since the computed value for Fa sheffe test (9.16) is greater than F test (1.86)
therefore; there is significant difference between methods A&B.

11-20. In a study conducted by graduating students in the College of Arts and

Management in DMMMSUMLUC the following data were recorded to determine the level
of effectiveness of the computerized registration during enrollment in min per
transaction. Assuming the populations to be normally distributed, is there sufficient
evidence, at the 0.05 level of significance to say that computerized registration
influences the length of time to finish enrollment registration?

a) Ho: There is no significant difference on the level of effectiveness to say that

computerized registration influences the length of time to finish enrollment
registration.
b) H1: There is a significant difference on the level of effectiveness to say that
computerized registration influences the length of time to finish enrollment
registration.

c) α= 0.05 (One-tailed)

K. Decision: Reject H0 and Accept H1 and conclude that there is significant

difference on the level of effectiveness to say that computerized registration
influences the length of time to finish enrollment registration.

perceived by the three groups.
