1. COMPANY INFORMATION/ INTRODUCTION

EK is a fully owned company of Ibercotton Group. A Spanish company created in 1986 for Knitwear
development and production.

In the search of more opportunities and alternatives for our buyers in a highly and constant changing
world , we have create EK Ethiopia Knitted Manufacturing Plc. our very first production unit in Ethiopia
in February 2020.

Ethiopia has Duty preferences with EU for that reason most of the production done in Ethiopia is Duty
Free with both of them.

With an investment of 13 MM USD in machinery and production systems we try to give our customers
a strong and realistic alternative to existing manufacturing base in Asia, focusing always in the 3
principles: quality, delivery and price.

EK – European Model in Ethiopia
EK factory is located at Debre Birhan Industrial Park, a city situated at 135 Km from Addis Ababa
airport, approximately 2.30 hours drive from there. The operation area are 2 sheds, with a total of
12.000 m2.

Planned production is 2.160.000 pcs/year and with the goal to reach 3.000.000.

We use last knitting machines technology from Germany using STOLL knitting machines and from
China - STEIGER, liking area is equipped with automatic hanging system-INA, washing and iron are
with European standard using Italian technology, Mentasti and Girbau.

RFID system will be in place to have live control of production at anytime, we are ready to open our
system to our customers so they can monitor their production on real time by themselves.

EK as a global company has long term raw material suppliers that have been developed within the
years, so we take yarns from almost everywhere such as
 Italy
 Spain,
 Cambodia
 Pakistan
 Turkey
 India
 China
Bangladesh etc…..,

As a part of our great experience on knits we can use any kind of materials like, 100% cotton, cotton
mixed yarns, woolen yarns, woolen mixed, fancy yarns, etc…

Our production range starts on gg.2.5 until gg.14.

Any kind of production trims can be done, zippers, elbow, neck tapes, etc…
